  1. Hello, I was trying to edit the "horse.nif" file. I'd like to add my custom armor pieces to the horse mesh, in addition to saddle and similar. What I want to do is to add new custom mesh parts in the vanilla file. What are the correct import/export checkboxes to check in NifTools 3DS Max plugin for Skyrim (Max 2010), to import export a creature? Is there any tutorial? All the tutorials I found were about weapons or static. I imported the horse skeleton first, then the horse body mesh, but every time I export the horse mesh again, the exported file's size is always different from the original one. Then I removed the "BSLightingShaderProperty" branch from every NiTriShape body piece using Nifskope, and replaced them with a "copy/paste branch" from the correct "horse.nif" mesh as suggested by a tutorial. Testing the horse in game just gave me a set of pointless triangles instead of the horse. The horse was there, animating, I could mount on it and walk, but the body was screwed. Next experiment, I tried to open in Nifskope the two original meshes "horse.nif" and "saddle.nif" in horse character assets folder, using two NifSkope windows. The goal was to copy the saddle to the horse mesh and show it in game. I copied one of the saddle meshes in Nifskope ("copy branch") and pasted to the "horse.nif" in the other NifSkope window (paste branch) (I first renamed the saddle file NiNode root to "Horse.nif" so that it won't show errors when pasting), it didn't show any error, but I couldn't see the added saddle ingame, just the horse. I'm using "player.placeatme 10982b" console command to show a horse and test it. Here are the import checkboxes I checked for the horse (the mesh, after importing skeleton): -everything checked except: Lights, Cameras, Collision, Weld vertices, Ignore User Prop Buffer, and nothing selected in skeleton section and the export checkboxes: -(NIF w/o animation), checked: Hidden Nodes, Collision, Flatten Hierarchy, Update Tangent Space, Collapse Transforms, Zero Transforms, Export Skin Modifier, Sort Nodes, Transforms, Start Nifskope, Root node type: NiNode Any suggestions?
  2. Where are all the images in this tutorial? I cannot see them.
  3. Yes someone managed to edit a Skyrim mesh: (nude content) this guy probably released the first mod that alters Skyrim's model file.
  4. Why do you want to increase it further than 100? I think the mesh would not look good with a too high value. As Goghiel said, you may edit the second bodymesh (malebody_1.nif or femalebody_1.nif), but there are no tools for doing that yet.
  5. Tatoo mods are simply body textures, so I don't think you can "merge" a skin texture with a tatoo layer texture ingame.
