  1. In response to post #91953468. #91955698, #91957093, #91957748, #91962688, #91963348, #91963533, #91965618, #91967383, #91970368 are all replies on the same post. Thank you for this extensive help guide! That is a great idea with the folder switch and I am going to do that. Although I still prefer Skyrim LE over SE and the old Skyrim has not been touched in years, still can't trust that fully. Great tip for the GOG versions as well, think I will get Morrowind there for sure. As for Starfield and TES6 you are right again I fear, saw an interview with Tod Howard and others where they pretty much let the bomb drop about those titles being gamepass exclusives, and my first reaction was F... there goes modding. I have no strong feelings about Starfield, but am extremely bummed about TES6 because it will be set in an area and culture I really want to play; now I am not sure I will ever play it the way I would want to with mods of my choice. Then again I probably be dead by the time its released because I am an old fart as well :)
  2. You probably know that Chrome has issues with your new page layout? I was not logged in and every time I tried to do so a random product page opened up mostly on the Amazon site. The same thing happened when I clicked on various other tabs without being logged in, only product adds or Amazon pages for random products popped up and I never got to the intended Nexus page. I had to use Firefox to log in and actually I logged in on the old Nexus page so I don't even know if I would have the same issue in Firefox if I were to log out there, but I am not going to experiment on that. Hopefully you are working on that. I still like the redesign for the most part, though there is room for improvement, but this login issue is more serious as I could potentially loose access to my own mods. One other thing that still sucks as before is the site search engine; if one does not spell a mod name exactly one does not get a result. Half the mods I hear about or have a vague idea of their name I find the Nexus page via Google. So a more intelligent search engine on the site page would be great so one does not have to go off site to search for a mod on the site. Thanks
  3. In response to post #54666253. That is one thing I really love about the new design, frankly I always thought the previous design sucked really bad because of the tiny thumbnails, they tried to cram too much on one page. Now there IS more content on one page but more manageable. Not having to squint or go the extra step to open a page just to get a better look at an image is an improvement.
  4. In response to post #54665673. #54666223 is also a reply to the same post. Well it loads faster for me for some reason most the time, definitely not slower, could also have to do with time of day.
  5. I really LOVE the new layout and look of the new site! Much easier to navigate and very intuitive and I am a middle aged guy with failing memory so really have no clue what people are complaining about but to each their own. I think this is a vast improvement and I really like some of the new features I have discovered so far. It gives me a much better overview at a glance on what is going on with any given mod and relevant information, something I had to dig allot and jump more pages to get to with the old design. I noticed also that pages load faster than on the old site. I say well done Nexus!
  6. I just got mine to work! I never had a problem with the Beth Net launcher, my problem was that I got a black screen in the CK render window when I tried to get into one of my own mods, apparently this was caused by that update? My CK was set to auto update. Anyway I just went into the launcher and verified - updated the CK for SSE and after that I got a GRAY screen when trying to open one of my mods. How I finally got into my Interior cell was to load a vanilla Interior cell, which worked and then loaded my Interior cell again from there and that finally worked. If nothing else has worked for you yet try that and good luck.
  7. Just became aware of this as I am rebuilding Skyrim load order and also setting up the special edition; to me personally this is half a disaster as I always archive all files I download so I have it, but it is a great loss for the community. Besides the excellent combat animations and the general compatibility friendliness I ran this with over 240 other mods, as far as I know this was the ONLY mod that addressed and fixed the abysmal swimming animation of the vanilla game which Bethesda still saw not necessary to fix in SSE! This mod offered two swimming animations, both excellent and an absolute must have for immersion freaks like myself. A real shame.
  8. I am glad to see something on this topic, just got the new CK last night and could not figure out how to convert mods yet. I will give your tutorial a go later, but I am wondering about step 12. I am only interested in converting mods for PC, are you saying that I need to save the file for xbox first regardless? This process may sound more cumbersome than it actually is, but basically there is no way to convert a mod without going through Bethnet? Also I could not work on this last night for long after installing the CK, but I could not get a mod to even load in the CK; the mod in question is dependent on two DLCs and I got an error message that multiple masters cannot be loaded, so I take it that I have to add that line in the CK ini just as I had to in the old one and I hope that is all from preventing me to load up my mod, or is there anything else that could prevent any data from showing up in the CK? Thanks for any additional pointers,
  9. In response to post #24764954. #24765129, #24765414, #24767504 are all replies on the same post. phellen, thanks and I totally agree with the points you raise. One of the reasons I decided against the pay model while it was still available. I did not want to get into more detail on the market place reasoning and why I think also it would not suit this community, but my main point was to deal with all of this in a more collaborative spirit and not all the hate and venom that was displayed by some on both sides of the argument. I have no illusions that this is an ideal community, but its not too much to ask for some mature acceptance of viewpoints. What I find more perplexing than the pay for mods debate is Bethesda's reasoning for considering it quote form their blog: "We are always looking for new ways to expand modding. Our friends at Valve share many of the same beliefs in mods and created the Steam Workshop with us in 2012 for Skyrim, making it easier than ever to search and download mods. Along with Skyrim Nexus and other sites, our players have many great ways to get mods. Despite all that, it’s still too small in our eyes. Only 8% of the Skyrim audience has ever used a mod. Less than 1% has ever made one." If those figures are correct they are hardly surprising. I am forever grateful to Bethesda for making it possible in the first place to mod their games, but if that is really at the heart of their philosophy should they not then base the game on PC and then adapt it to console rather than the other way around? In my local community most players I know played Skyrim on console and many have never even played an official DLC never mind a mod. It is really sad how many fans are totally ignorant of all the great content available out there. I don't know if this will change with new generation consoles, but as long as the PC is the last platform a new game comes to the modding community will remain small.
  10. There are allot of very strong emotions going around right now and I think what we as a community need to work on most of all is tolerance and respect for each others work and opinion, as long as that in turn is given respectfully! As long as the modding community was not pushed toward an either free or paid by the industry but left it up to the community, I saw absolutely no problem with either. Personally I was not about to charge money for mods I had up for free for years, but I was considering charging something for new ones in future, but in the end decided against it. I have no problem respecting someone deciding they should be compensated for their time and effort and I also respect the strong notion that this is contrary to the modding spirit. There is no reason both models could not have coexisted. A sense of entitlement for getting paid or getting stuff for free are both utterly counterproductive and not in the spirit of modding. No one, absolutely no one has any ethical right to vilify someone else for their decision to go either route and to ridicule their opinion. If you don't like what someone has created or how they present it just move on. Those who would leave the community over this I would ask to reconsider. Like in most cases the largest part of the community that appreciates your efforts is the vast though quiet majority; the loud mouth brainless comments by a few should not be mistaken to represent what this modding community stands for. I hope we can keep every talent around, be more open minded and be more civil in how we treat each other.
  11. Thanks for all the great services you provide, it really shows that your heart is in making this site a positive experience for gaming enthusiasts. Down time to fix bugs like the one you described is a small price to pay for what we get in return.
  12. I think I figured out what went wrong, but have been unable to repair it. I did not pay close attention while cleaning mods with dirty edits in TES5Edit and did not realize that both Convenient Horses and AFT contain dirty edits on purpose that are supposed to be left alone! Let this be a lesson to others, read ALL text and instructions when cleaning mods! I would have thought that installing these mods again and overriding the existing files would re introduce the dirty edits, but it did not. I tried this also on cleaned saves where both mods were uninstalled first. While I have no absolute proof, I think this is most likely the cause of this glitch and some other weird horse stuff I observed with one of my followers; both mods say that removing their dirty edits will cause trouble... At some point I will try this on a new game, as a "cleaned" version is supposed to be ok on a fresh start.
  13. Thanks for the reply, I just recently installed Enhanced Animations and I use some other mods that use custom animations that run through FNIS. I will experiment with disabling some but I don't see how that would screw things up because the mount and riding animations are working on my existing horse. What is broken is the ownership transfer for a newly purchased horse, whether my original horse is dead or alive. So it has to be a script that deals with ownership rather than animations or not? I have not bothered with buying another horse in a long time, so this condition could have existed for quite some time and I would never know, whatever is causing this conflict could be many installations back... In that case, how about posting all the mods you are using? It may come to that eventually, I wanted to see if anybody else has had the same or similar issue.
  14. Hi Taragor, did you ever get an answer to your question not posted here or figure out what caused this? I have just posted a similar issue I started having not with the horse I am currently riding but when attempting to buy a new horse. The activator button does nothing and I am also using Convenient horses but with SKSE. Just wondering...
