  1. Skyrim stores all of it's strings in the Data\Strings\ folder in Skyrim_<language>.STRINGS, Skyrim_<language>.DLSTRINGS and Skyrim_<language>.ILSTRINGS. The data that you find in the FULL records is a 4 byte id located in the STRINGS file. The ones in DESC are 4 byte ids located in the DLSTRINGS file. Not sure on the ILSTRINGS file, yet. You can do one of three things: 1) leave the records as they are and create new STRINGS, DLSTRINGS and ILSTRINGS files for your mod. If your mod was named "test mod.esp" you could copy the three skryim files to "test mod_English.STRINGS", "test mod_English.DLSTRINGS", and "test mod_English.ILSTRINGS". English, of course, would only work on English language versions of Skryim. You'd have to use different language files for each language you supported (or have the end user create them himself/herself). You'll also need to set bit 0x00000080 in your TES4 record. 2) Switch TESsnip's editing mode off of Hex Mode. It's one of the options at the top. You can then just type strings into those fields and they'll work. This is what most of the mods are currently doing. 3) Use the utility I'm currently writing that creates (small) customized STRINGS, etc. files for you. Works with different language files as well so you can include multiple languages. Skyrim String Localizer. I should have another version up in a couple of hours (19:00GMT Dec 8 2011) that should work with more mod types.
