  1. fShadowDistance= From 8000.0000 to 2500.0000 and fInteriorShadowDistance= 3000.0000 to 2500.0000 This worked perfectly, thanks a million man!! No more blocky shadows interior or exterior! I only wanted to play at night because daytime shadows were ruining my experience. Great job!! Sticky this! @Redtail You're a freakin dick man. Shame on you.
  2. Sorry if this is a noob question, but what does the Armor Rating rate exactly? Let's say you have an Armor Rating of 50. does that mean that 50% of damage from attacks that land on you is ignored? If so is it just physical damage, or elemental damage as well? I'm confused and the game manual doesn't explain what it means.
  3. I can't remember the last time the recommended specs ever hit acceptable frame rates, then again I won't play a game unless I'm hitting bare minimum of 60 fps. I like my games smooth as butter and I'll wait for a hardware upgrade if it means enjoying more later. I just upgraded ALL of my hardware and went from Windows XP 32 to Windows 7 64 just so I could play this with 60+ fps. We'll see tomorrow how it runs.
  4. You can get a pretty good idea watching the IGN review videos. Just google Skyrim review PC IGN. Yeah, the third person fighting looks a lot like melee weapons in Fallout 3 honestly. The combat looks a lot like the chicken dance seen in MMOs. Disappointing after reading how fluid and realistic Bethesda claimed it looked but it's the same ol' Bethsoft combat animations. Seems like they got a lot of other things right though.
  5. I know they left in running backwards for the console newbs but for us realistic/survival fans, I hope we can mod this out so moving backwards automatically is reduced to a walk.
  6. I just got done uninstalling NWN last night to make room for Skyrim. And yes, Bioware did such a great job with that game!!
  7. Not over rocky frozen terrain while casting spells with monsters chasing me. Nobody can do that, not realistic at all.
  8. This is disappointing, especially after hearing reports over the past months from Bethsoft developers that they took running backwards out of the game. I was watching PC gameplay on IGN today and the player's mage was running backwards while firing off spells and knights in heavy armor doing the same. Very disappointing that Bethsoft still hasn't fixed this exploit. Think a modder will fix this?
  9. Wow Natalie, that's amazing nice job!
  10. Just how much do you want the game to be "The Sims: Dovahkiin Edition".
  11. I personally just upgraded from a GTX 275 to my new GTX 560Ti and I love it. This thing is SOOOO quiet and stays around 55 degrees at full load with the stock cooler. My 275 was loud and ran about 70 degrees at full load. These 500 series Ferni cards are amazingly cool and quiet. Just my 2 cents but I would highly recommend the 560Ti for your brother. I picked up mine for $200 (after rebate) on newegg a few weeks ago. The GTX 580 is obviously a little faster but for double the price ($400 - $500) it's not worth the money for diminishing returns. Use that extra $200 for other upgrades.
  12. HAHAHAHAHA!!! You made me LOL at work and everyone looked at me.
  13. My suggestion would be to study up on Elder Scrolls lore if you haven't already. I never played Morrowind and only played about 20 hours of Oblivion because it was so choppy when riding a horse, so I dropped it. So, I never got much of the lore engraved in my brain. A few weeks ago I started surfing the internet at work and found some good Wiki/Lore sites for the Elder Scrolls game and I've been "studying" up so the game means much more to me when I finally play it. It's amazing how rich the history of Nirn truly is and now things will make sense when I finally load up Skyrim. I just loaded up Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition last weekend. Wow! Even though I've beaten it before it's still an amazing game! Plus I can play it with the graphics cranked up on my 22" widescreen monitor (NWN supports widescreen). I've been having a blast with it!
  14. I hang my head in disappointment, but thanks Iv000.
