  1. Seriously, Paul, your work looks very professional. And you are not twelve. So I don't understand why you'd start a video with a very laud sound. My guess is you don't use headphones? Other than that, 10/10.
  2. I am a huge fan of this idea. The pip boy makes sense only for things such as status (health, effects) and data (map, quests, notes). Who would a person change his attire via Pip boy? How do people without a pip-boy change their clothes? I know this concept goes back to Fallout (1) but it always bothered me.
  3. Did you actually "make sure none are conflicting"? Did you use F4Edit? I'm asking because crashes on startup are usually caused by missing masters. F4Edit would let you know in case there were any masters missing. Nexus Mod Manager will alert you to missing masters as well. Just go to the "Plugins" tab and look for any orange colored text.
  4. Now I can see how many people downloaded a specific version compared to the number of all users who ever downloaded any of the versions if I understand correctly. The previous counter wasn't very useful and I can still reach it if I sum unique counters for all versions. It's still a shame some amount of downloads slip by if your file is below 2 MB but that cannot be helped.
  5. Not problem with the beta patch here. Doesn't look like the update which well break most of the existing mods just yet. Did what you did work before the beta patch? I can take a look for you.
  6. Check out Paint.NET. I used it when I was modding Skyrim. Not sure it works with all DDS formats out there but it's very light weight and easy to use.
  7. My bad, I thought you meant this: http://i.imgur.com/iFKouxh.png (:
  8. The majority of mods will never run on consoles. So thats not a good argument for a delay. Providing means to create mods but no means for downloading and using them by console users might be seen as Bethesda going back on the promise to give console users access to mods. If not outrage, it might still generate some bad will and bad press.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if GECK was delayed until the time consoles are "ready" for mods. This time around it's not just the added complexity of forms but also support for new platforms both technical and logistics side.
  10. Keep in mind tools such as LOOT read the version number from plugin description and treat it as the mod/plugin version. Mod authors would need to add both version numbers if they wanted to include the game version number because LOOT will ignore all but the first version number. I think it's nicer and more convenient for both authors and users to put information like that in the mod description page (and the changes tab if applicable) and putting it also in the plugin description seems rather redundant. After all, you don't know whether or not your plugin will be compatible with the next update and you might have to upload a new version only to change the description.
  11. That's true. I think I was "notified" twice even. (: Did you consider conflicts and load order? Darker Nights and True Storms require a patch for the best experience. It's mentioned on each mod page but because it is downloaded as a separate file it might be worth mentioning.
  12. Which "uninstall procedure" did you follow? I could not find any. Sweet FX preset mods usually don't have an actual plugin (esp) and should uninstall perfectly fine if you do it right. You can try restarting your computer to make sure there is nothing in the cache and try again. Can you start a new game without crashing?
  13. Generally, you should never uninstall a mod with a plugin, and it seems you uninstalled a bunch. Some mods are safe to uninstall, however some mods require a special procedure to uninstall properly and some you should never uninstall. The author of each mod should tell you that but it's quite possible they have no idea themselves. Messed up game sounds bad, but saved game not loading is worse and uninstalling mods may lead to just that. What I recommend is basically your only option short of starting a new game, and that is installing and activating all the mods you were using and hope it will work.
  14. There is no way blindly updating all mods at once automatically or manually for that matter is a good idea. Besides technical difficulties related to hosting multiple main files and supporting custom scripted installers, consider this: 1) A new version of mod may change something you don't like (or need). 2) Mods may require specific actions when upgrading. 3) A new version of mod may conflict with another mod without a patch. 4) If you update many mods at once and something doesn't work it's much harder to tell which mod caused the problem.
  15. Removing bunch of plugins from a saved game. What could possibly go wrong? Good thing nobody figured scripts yet. (:
