  1. Because my NV isn't from Steam. Bethesda requested my CD Key for validation before sending me the link. Thanks for making me consider to buy the Ultimate Edition though. There was never ever a version of New Vegas released without Steam requirement in no country of this world. But yes the geck website is online again. So you got your NV geck for your not existing NV. :)
  2. How would it be pirated if it updated itself to the current version after i installed it again? Updates for NV are only deliverd via Steam. You claim that you haven't installed.
  3. I got the CD for my Birthday 3 years ago.. And you got a steamkey with the CD and also had to install steam to start NV. Because the DRM of NV is steam. There aren't any other versions.
  4. In response to post #24787589. #24788179, #24788969, #24789854 are all replies on the same post. The choice from Bethesda of mod developers who tested the creation kit wasn't the best. Because famous essential bugs (esp navmesh) that where introduced in Fallout weren't found and reported. I was astonished by that because one of the mod developers actually depends on that with one of his main mods, seems there is only very small communication with Fallout mod developers. Which actually had a discussion with a Beth developer about that bug (and sadly isn't fixed for Fallout 3/NV until today).

(Wanted to add a smiley but actually there is nothing to smile about whats happening atm.)

  9. In response to post #23967144. #23971239 is also a reply to the same post. Understood I am a enemy for you. Welcome to the commercial world of modmaking! It will be fun. Business is war.... and war... never changes. (had to :) ).
  10. In response to post #23967214. Hello Project Brazil how is the ball rolling from the lazy & incompetant modmaker who made it ( :) me btw. in a very sarcastic way, so noone gets a wrong assumption here again)? Don't you get it that I am talking about the attention seeking make a quick buck people in the modding scene they simply don't care what and which resources they are useing? No. Ok have fun with them and the few cents that Beth and Steam is willing to give you.
  11. @Arthmoor I have. I think the rumors are entirely overblown and are rooted in jealously more than anything else. We don't all see things the same way  Shezrie covered the remainder. There are plenty of open source free alternatives to the expensive programs you mentioned. You'd also be surprised just how many modders have donated hard earned money to those projects to keep them alive. Am I an enemy you have to fight? Looks like it in your choice of words and that you insinuate things I didn't wrote. Also you seem under the assumption that I never made a mod, don't know the tools and wasn't there as the Sims 2 modding scene went down. You are wrong with all of this.

Nope it doesn't fail. Because that's actually how the indie studios struggle atm. professionalism (who sold out shortly to MS?). It's the same with youtube where the "big" youtubers suddenly have to realize what business and copyright law means. Responsibility. All this wonderfull "Kickstarter" projects that promise the customer ...heaven... and can't even deliver a minimal of the promised functionality.... Yeah we need this for mods too ... urgently ... and in thousends. Best with it's own Steam Workshop.... But I am sure all of these "professional" modmakers who sell you their product have payed their licenses for Photoshop, 3DSMax, Substance Painter, .... Sure they have and don't use student licenses or worse. The commercialisation of mods is a minefield for customer and modmakers. I wouldn't open up this can of worms. Read about the SIMS 2 modscene and what happend as the "big business" started there. It should open up your eyes why it's a very bad thing and all about greed. I am not talking about you as person. I am talking about what happpens as soon as this possibility is open. (Btw. Yes I am working on my own game too and yes it will be a commercial project.)

Do you take the same responsibility as a commercial company Arthmoor if you are paid for making mods? If the answer is no, it's greedy.
  14. In response to post #23607584. #23645249, #23647084, #23650264 are all replies on the same post. Looking at what happens in the Skyrim "community" in this regard already... It will be fun if mods get commercialized. Be prepared for the army of hate trolls nexus.
  15. In response to post #23623379. #23623839, #23637439 are all replies on the same post. It was tried. Look what happend to SIMS2. Take your time and read what happend as the monetization has begun. It will destroy the modding scene and yes you will have fun with paywalls, stolen content, crippled mods (they have to be protected) and quarrel all over the place. It's a bad, bad idea.
