  1. Hi everyone. I'm getting unbelievably sick of the 1-handed SMG and sawed-off shotgun and after fiddling with them for a bit I realised that the ingame artwork is simply not cut out to support 2-handed animations on them. I figured my next-best option is to totally replace the 9mm SMG, 10mm SMG and sawed-off artwork with a user-made models and textures. Unfortunately it seems most of the best guns are buried in massive compilations, and plenty of people seem perfectly okay with SMGs and chopped shotguns being used one-handed ; so it's turned out to be harder-than-expected to find what I'm looking for. So I figured I'd ask on the forums, is there anybody who uses extra-weapon mods who just happens to know of a totally awesome gun they could recommend that I could use to keep my silly old character from using two-handed weapons like small-caliber pistols? What I'm looking for... - A two-handed submachinegun, preferably one that looks ugly and utilitarian like the ingame 9mm SMG, but basically anything that isn't sleek and matte-black will do. If it's based on a real-world gun that takes 9mm ammunition, that's a bonus. If it has the meshes to support a silencer and expanded ammo, that's a huge bonus. If you can think of two guns that fit the bill, that's great as there's also Vance's SMG to think of. If there's nothing you can think of, a one-handed machinepistol like a Micro-Uzi or something would be an excellent consolation prize. - A two-handed submachinegun, preferably one that looks black and sleek and militaristic like the ingame 10mm SMG. If it's based on a real-world gun that takes .40cal (or close to it) ammunition, that would be a bonus. If it had the meshes to support extended mags that would be a huge bonus. - A two-handed side-by-side sawed-off double shotgun. I realise this one is the least likely to exist, since a double shotgun is a boring mundane weapon to most modders, and there's no need for another one in the game ; and sawed-off shotguns are used one-handed in movies so often I think that's how most people assume they're supposed to be used (lots of sprained wrists out there, I bet). I would be overjoyed, however, if somebody knew of a sawed-off that actually supports two-handed use. Thanks in advance if anybody reads through all this and takes the trouble to reply with a reccomendation or two... I've been trawling through the Nexus for the past two days, so it would be so much help to me if somebody who already knows of a gun or two that'd suit my needs could let me know where to find them.
  2. Actually it's FO3 that's wrong there. Radioactive fallout can't pollute water for very long before it decays. The real long-term hazards would be anything made of metal (like that great big metal aircraft carrier that Project Purity "experts" decided would be a wicked-awesome place to start rebuilding society from)..
  3. Forgive the dumb question, but blender and a .bsa extractor are the tools needed for such a job, yes? It's not possible to do via the GECK?
  4. Hi. I'm trying to make some containers using meshes from movable objects (the meshes used on jars of powder, ammunition, moveable explosives crates and doctor's bags, among others), but I can't get them to behave as static objects. They bounce and fall all over the place when bumped. I've messed around with all the settings in the container editing box, but can't figure out what exactly decides whether they're static or movable ; is it a setting on the .nif file itself? Will I need to use blender and a .bsa extractor to end up with a static container that looks like a cardboard box of 10mm bullets?
  5. When I tried uploading a file it asked me to make sure I've read and understood the rule changes from may 1st, but the link just took me to the main forum section and I couldn't find any fileshare rules.
  6. Thanks, so this means if I download blender and nifskope I can export the Breeze UV onto a non-breeze mesh (w/ all the original artists permissions of course) and then use the breeze textures without requiring any modelling/texturing/artistic talent whatsoever? I'm finding tutorials now that I have a vague idea of what to be searching for.
  7. Hi everyone. I searched as many keywords as I could think of here and on google but came up short. The question I have is why do Type3 textures work perfectly on such a huge range of Type3 meshes (for instance the new hugely buffed Military/Athlete one) but textures made for breeze simply don't work on non-breeze meshes? Is there a simple way of converting a made-for-breeze texture onto another mesh, or does it require some pretty skilled artwork? All the tutorials I found on converting for meshes were about converting armour. Any help would be greatly appreciated ; I'm trying to make a tattoo parlour mod.
  8. Can anybody recommend me a body replacer that makes a character look dirty with soot or engine grease, as if they've been doing some hard labour with engines?
  9. I'm trying to have the player rescue somebody from a stockade, which I duplicated from the Pitt and placed in a new area. Everything works fine as far as the scriptpackage to make the NPC stay in stockade, but whenever the PC speaks they immediately stand up and turn around to say hello. I can't figure out what exactly stops them from leaving their stockaded pose. Any ideas?
  10. I want to make a container that looks like the STATIC coffee urn, but I can't figure out how to set a container to have a vanilla game mesh used by a static object. Do I need some sort of conversion program?
  11. They get kicked out at sixteen. Assuming an even ratio of men to women, every girl has to pump out two viable children before she turns sixteen, just to keep the population stable, and the good breeders will have to make up the balance for all the girls who die in childbirth, miscarry, fail to be impregnated, or produce sickly soon-to-be-dead infants. Don't forget that it's been a closed community for two-hundred years, they're now all closely interrelated and all sexual couplings would be heavily incestious, adding more complications to the health and fertilty of any offspring they produce. Now add in the female non-birthing fatality rates from slaver/mutant depridation, accidents and illness. The average girl who survives to puberty and is capable of bearing offspring would now be expected to make upwards of a dozen viable babies before she hits sixteen. Sound possible? They could start breeding the second they hit puberty, sure, but if they're younger than thirteen or fourteen the chances of those kids (or the mother) surviving are close to nil, even without factoring in the hygeinic conditions of lamplight and the average competancy of uneducated 9-year old brats as ob/gyns (that is to say ; not very competant). Also, something important we forgot ; they're all stupid useless kids who don't know anything, and would have died within two days of being left without adult supervision, because they're all stupid useless kids who don't know anything.
  12. Ignoring lore or not, I still don't understand what you mean by making female mutants. Do you want to put boobs on them? Tone down the muscles? Long hair and lipstick? High heels and prada handbags?
  13. That's okay, I have one made up already where they'll shoot you for it. A beating and robbery is a touch more complicated, but it could certainly be done. I've already made a script that will have an NPC knock you unconcious and take your stuff (no animation for the taking stuff part, unfortunately. It just disappears five seconds after being knocked out. I'm no great hand at putting in idles). The problem would be in assigning the beating/robbery script to the nearest PittGuard, which I'm not sure is altogether possible. It could be assigned to a specific guard in the cell the player is in, but that could result in having him/her run across the entire cell to reach the player. Leaving out the beating and assigning it to the guy who gives you the steelyard jobs might be a good idea, he could confiscate your weapons as you walk in and hold onto them for you until you're ready to go back into the steelyard (or until you're emancipated). Since he actually GIVES you weapons to use in the steelyard, he alone shouldn't panic when he sees you return with one. But anyways, I just want a zipgun to complete this mod nicely.
