  1. For faces to go with my dimonized type 3 body i use the type 3 V2 texture pack from that page (among the files to download) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4280 I just noticed a new face texture mod which is based on that same face texture... might try it, it looks ok http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16749 For hair i use this one because they're great hairs and you can wear helmets with them too also there's a pic on that page which will help you which file belongs to which hair so you can install just the ones you like. (need to install them using geck though but it's easy ... look for the tutorial, i think there a link to one on the faq page here on the forum ... otherwise just google it) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4459 And also this braided hair (redguard hair from oblivion) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14570
  2. Not really into masks but i'd like to see a few more helmets combined with things ie, goggles, face scarves, gas masks ect or maybe a balaclava, flight helmet (think boomers), hoods, and maybe a normal workman style wooly cap.
  3. Hey i found your thread a few nights ago and it's pretty amazing what you've done on your own ... i guess the best way to learn is to do it all yourself. I'm really looking forward to Alton, Illinois. Great job! :)
  4. I recently learned to place actors and spawns into the game using the GECK, and so set about adding a few extra merchants (scavengers) here and there. This seemed to cause no problems and everything worked fine, so i added a few little camps for them to hang out in ... just the odd bench, bed, burning barrel, suitcase, filing cabinet ... nothing major. Still, everything seems fine. Then i add a couple of Lvl raider spawns around springvale and change some of the existing creature spawns to different ones, ie the molerats below springvale school i changed to ghouls instead. It all plays out fine and the everything appears to work. But then i try to save the game and it crashes on save. - Any ideas what may be causing my crashes? What is most likely? And another quick question .... messing with the creature level lists is kinda fun, putting supermutants and ghouls in amongst the 'wasteland all', 'Wasteland weak', and 'Wasteland tough' seems to work fine and i've had no problems with doing this. But can i also put raiders in the creature level lists? For instance .. the 'wasteland all' list? Or maybe swapping out radscorpions for raiders in the radscorpion list? Thanks in advance! :)
  5. I think you misunderstand me, this isn't about big boobs. Just about better looking characters than the vanilla game came with. (the vanilla game sure did come with some poor textures due to being a cross platform game and due to being a little rushed or lazy too) Both Blackrampage and i have both suggested the same body replacer ... probably because it's a good body, and none of the dimonised bodys even have particularly big boobs and the armours i suggested are just vanilla armours with subtle mesh adjustments- nothing outlandish. ... the raider ones reveal a little more midriff but again it's subtle, and no big boobs there either. - Just trying to help guide you through the myriad of body/texture mods and some lore friendly outfits to go with them. I'm enjoying your selection of mods however and i do appreciate your concerns.
  6. Well i'm no expert on meshes and textures at all but i've tried a few. It's a bit of a headache at first sussing out female body replacers because there's just LOADS of them on the nexus, ... skins/textures too. Far too many to choose from! Many people choose one of dimon99's body types ( which is what i went with) or 'Beware of the girl' ones. The different types are just variants on slimness, curves, breasts. dimonised: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4280 Beware of the girl: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13241 These packs come with meshes AND skins/textures, so it's a matter of finding a mesh (body shape) you like and if you don't like the skin/textures the pack comes with, plenty of people have made skins to match those existing body types. Type 3 is by far the most popular body type and many many armors and clothing have been made for type 3 bodys. The type 3 body/mesh will replace every single female adult in the game (player, npcs AND raiders) ... i don't think they replace elderly females though. But raider females have different textures from the player and adult female npcs. So you can choose textures for your player/npcs and other textures for raider females. But whatever skins/textures you choose will have to be compatible with the body type/mesh you've chosen. So a type 3 body, whether it's a cali, berry, alice or whatever needs a type 3 skin/texture and that texture will fit any of those bodys because all those bodys are essentially all type 3 (just different variants/styles). - Confused yet? :) So in my game i think i used dimonised body/mesh and skins/textures from that pack for normal females, and the raider skins i already mentioned: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11711 (don't forget raiders use same mesh but different textures). Ok onto faces and hands. I kept it simple and used dimonised faces and hands textures to go with dimonised body. The raider females i left with their original face textures and found the raider skin pack i mentioned went very well with the original raider faces, for matching up with the skin tones. Yeah, most skin/textures for type 3 bodys are nude, whereas the default FO3 ones have underwear as part of the body texture. So the default underwear is not separate clothing ... it's literally painted on to the body. But what's the point of shapely female bodys without shapely female clothing? Great replacement pack for female FO3 armors: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12653 Raider female armors from the same author: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7848 .... Well i hope it wasn't too long winded, like i said i'm no expert and i do rattle on a bit :)
  7. Sorry i thought you said you didn't want to install weapon packs... The additem console code can be useful to check if your installed weapons/armors ect are looking ok and to your liking (dodgy textures, mesh glitches ect). But like i said i find it preferable to add a weapon to a body somewhere. Actually i was wrong about that SMG .. it replaces Sydneys SMG. Marts mutand Mod does indeed increase difficulty ... which is why it's so popular. So many people, including myself, find the game/enemies way too easy after level 8 or so. It'll also give you a lot more loot and you might consider a slower leveling mod to compensate for the many more enemies you will kill (or raise the level cap). MMM also uses those great tattoo skins for the male raiders and incorporates elements of 'project beauty' (so you may not need project beauty). But i think MMM leaves the female raider meshes alone. So if you're gonna use a type3 or V or whatever female body replacer you might want these skins for your female raiders: The body and face skin/flesh tones work better http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11711
  8. There's a couple of gun mods i use and i love them: 10mm Tacical SMG: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3183 (There are 2 files there, .. i couldn't get the newer one to work properly but the older one worked fine) AK47 Tactical: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15082 (adds 4 versions of a lovely AK47 in a box behind Dukovs place) Note: With nearly all mods that add custom textures you will need a form of archive invalidation. Everyone with any sense uses 'Archive invalidation invalidated': http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 Note: fallout mod manager has an archive invalidation feature included but it doesn't always work for me. Now sometimes these mods (like with the 10mm tactical SMG) add the weapon TO the game but don't put it IN the game. So you'll need to find the item ID (open the esp in the GECK or FO3edit, find the item under weapons and you should see it) then you can use the console command: player.additem xxxxxxx 1 (where xxxxxx is the item ID and 1 is the number you wish to spawn in your inventory). But personally i like to open the esp of that weapon and find a dead NPC and simply add it to their inventory, so i can pick it up when i find that dead person. (the dead Jonas is one i often use).
  9. Also in the GECK 'settings' there is: FAVDNPCHealthLevelMult (health per level multipier) ,and FAVDNPCHealthEnduranceMult I understand these affect all humans in the game, except the player. But are there settings like these for creatures also?
  10. NMCs hi res texture pack is pretty simple to install really ( i use the lowest quality 'lite' pack and even that looks excellent): I believe 'Fellout' now comes with a super-duper pip boy light included to cope with those dark nights (but i don't use fellout cause' i hate the dark nights and pink horizon/sunsets and the mod just looks a bit wierd on my laptop. I used 'Clear skies' for a while instead; http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1390 ... but got fed up with that also. So i've ended up using 'Alternating timescale' (makes time pass slower), and modded it with the geck to make all the region weathers use the 'wasteland clear' weather (basically clear skies all the time) and made the sunrise and sunsets mutch longer so effectively i get rid of the yellowy tint the game has in the daytime by having longer orangy sunrise/sunsets a lot of the time. So i only have to put up with that yellow tint for a few hours a day. It's just to my taste thats all and i prefer it, and also the game runs a little easier on my laptop with clear weather. Alternating timescale mod: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15799 (there are other timescale mods to choose from also on the nexus) I also use FO3 ram boost (makes the game use 4 gig of ram instead of the default 2 gig) and it also disables games for windows live http://modsreloaded.com/fo3-ram-boost ... there's a bit of tinkering to do with that but it's worth it. Actually saying that it's really worth the effort some of these mods and fixes take to set up and install. Nobody is gonna do it for ya, you'll learn some stuff in the process, and if you don't you're basically left with vanilla FO3. It's your call! ;)
  11. I remember when fallout 3 first came out i could shoot grenades in mid air as they were thrown at me. Now i have a new copy of the game (game of the year edition, windows live reliant), and i cannot shoot grenades in mid air anymore? I can shoot a grenade in someones hand before they throw it but not whilst it is in the air. Now i'm not too bad tinkering with the geck, i've made cutout custom weapons and things, and i'm familiar with the 'used by' feature. I've had a look at frag grenades and i can't see what the problem is. Edit: OK i'm looking at 'Special effects/projectile/GrenadeFragProjectile/DestructibleObjectData' There is just one 'DestructibleObjectStage' Which goes like this: Health Percentage = 0 Cap Damage = unchecked Self Damage per second = 0 Disable Object = checked Model Damage Stage = 0 Destroy Object = unchecked Explosion = GrenadeFragExplosion Debris = N/A Debris Count = N/A Replacement Model = N/A This grenade projectile IS targetable in VATS and the 'Alt Trigger' has a timer of 2.5 after which the grenade explodes. Looking at the 'destruction object stage' above, i can see no instruction telling the grenade it can be disabled (no longer targetable in VATS) or to explode other than after the timer has run out. I'd be grateful if someone here (who can shoot grenades), would open up their grenade projectile data and tell me what they see. - But an issue for me is that although in my game, grenades ARE targetable in VATS, they show a hit chance of 0% and i cant actually fire at them, let alone fire and miss. (and this is with small guns skill at 100 and using a rifle with a default 45% VATS hit chance ... which is higher than most). Thanks in advance! ;)
