  1. Not of a mod request, hence I didn't make the thread in that section, more of a question. Does a mod that does this exist? In Fallout 1 & 2 energy weapons where extremely powerful, but where late game weaponry. I was wondering if an overhaul like this actually is out there for New Vegas? Like I have found mods that increase energy weapon damage, but they don't make them any more rare, or say, make there ammo less abundant. I sometimes find it weird that I can find a merchant selling a laser pistol at level 1 and then also find that the gun hits for less damage then a standard 10mm. I kind of liked the way that the older Fallout games handled energy weapons.
  2. I dunno if this has already been done. But with a cursory google I couldn't find anything. Ether way, I would love a plasma flamethrower :D Basically a plasma caster but green flames & with a big fuel tank ^_^
  3. So Maskar has basically said he does not know what the issue is, he doesnt even believe it's his mod, he is too busy to try figuring it out, and I should fix the issue myself :/ So guess that rules out getting support from the mod author's themselves *sigh*
  4. I am using whatever AA Simple ENB uses. However since I was concerned maybe the ENB was the culprit I turned it off during testing, the results where more or less the same with about 1 FPS added to the lows and highs (ex if fps went dow nto 15 it would be 16 instead) PS: After looking threw the entire Light section under Maskars Oblivion Overhaul.ini I could not find anything to do with Light Resolution. Brightness and chance of torches etc sure, but nothing about resolution.
  5. I can't find a MOO file called Moo Lightning. What file am I supposed to be tweaking? There is the Light section under the Maskars Oblivion Overhaul.ini, but I can not find anything to do with forcing exterior lighting.
  6. I made a comment on the MOO mod page, I linked this thread so people can see the screenshots I provided and also view my listed specs, load order etc as to stop confuesion. Hopefully someone there will be able to provide a few MOO specific tweaks that may atleast help aleviate the predicament.
  7. OK, so after installing MOO I now have massive FPS drops when pulling my torch out. In the screenshots bellow you can see I am totally alone, no NPC's are present in view so they could not be possibly effecting the results. This btw is with the Torch Performance Patch mod installed, I tried it without the mod installed and there was no change to my results. Other mods that also seem to effect my FPS only when my torch is out are Better Cities and Open Cities. Without any of these 3 mods mentioned installed I have no more then a 1-2 FPS drop when pulling my torch out, Open Cities and Better Cities respectively decrease my FPS by 5-10 when pulling my torch out, with MOO having the biggest impact of a wopping FPS drop of anywhere between 15-25.
  8. I did briefly look threw that same exact thread but did not find anything even slightly helpful. Most people from what I saw where saying the issue was textures or having allot of NPC's on your screen with torches. However as I have stated in my OP it does not matter if my char is alone or with 1 million NPC's holding light sources my FPS does not budge all that much, however the issue lay in the moment I the player character pull out a light source of any kind. As for the Torch Performance Patch, does it not just remove light flicker wich can be disabled threw Wrye Bash's Bashed Patch tweaks anyway? Or perhaps it does something extra I don't know about? In general the Mod description "It is intended to solve the astonishingly bad performance at night in crowded places" does not really fit the issue I am having atleast as my issue has nothing to do with crowds, I can actually have a massive frame rate drop from pulling out a torch even if I was alone inside a cave. I am more then happy to give it a go and see if it does anything and report back though for sake of testing things.
  9. Well I already turned Dynamic Light off on Torch02 via my own .esp file loaded after MOO. But I will give the spotlight option and -1 brightness a go, can't hurt right? haha Edit: Just curious, where would I find this torch brightness level option? I don't see it in the CS menu.
  10. Well...... best FPS result so far, but still more then half my FPS dropped the moment I bring my player torch out. Thanks for the suggestion, but still sadly no dice.
  11. Could an OBSE Plugin be causing any issues of this type do you think? Or even lack of a OBSE Plugins, here is all my Plugins, if you could check them atleast, maybe it would rule something out.
  12. Well I think we are just maybe looking at this from the wrong angle. Remember, this is not just a issue caused by the PC holding a torch, it's any light source emitted from the PC. IE Lanterns added by mods, new Torches added by mods, Light spells from vanilla aswell. They all Cause massive frame drops, which leads me to believe it's not torch specific.
  13. But I decreased the light radius, not increased it. from 768 down to 256. But ok I will do as you said, what should I increase the CS Falloff too ? Decrease the Falloff Exponent to 0.0000 as a test ... that is what TES4Edit shows as the default value. That is curious that when you reduced the light radius you have a further drop in frame rate ... I thought you had increased it to the value I have set. When I did that it was to give a bit more visible range while travelling roads on rainy nights (and to some extent in dungeons, though that wasn't my primary goal). Going from 768 to 1152 didn't make any remarkable change to my frame rate from what I recall (but I don't use anything except my Mark I perception to determine frame rate ... i.e. no FPS counter, just how it feels). - Edit When making these tests always set the previous value back to what it was ... we're looking for root causes here not cumulative effect. So I tried changing the Falloff Exponent, I changed it to 0 and it made no diference, I then changed it to 4 just to test if anything would happen and that made no diference ether.

  15. Well I edited the Light Radius like you asked, and..... welll the effect is shocking, worst FPS count so far.
