  1. I'm exclusively using Steam Workshop now for hosting mods, and suggest others to do the same. Bethesda hosts their game, creation kit and mods on Steam to deter pirates. I don't like people who pirate a game with so much work put into it, so I'll continue hosting my mods there. The subscribe feature is a huge bonus, since it tacks on to the launcher itself. The mods are easy to download and easy to upload with no separate accounts needed, just your Steam profile (which has Skyrim in it already). I can get into touch with my mod users way more easily to discuss things, since it's fused into the Steam community. I don't see the hate here. Steam Workshop will improve over time and cater to all modding needs. I don't know what will happen to Nexus, but I'm pretty sure (after observing the number of downloads on my simple mod and the quantity of quality content) that it won't be the #1 target for Skyrim mods anymore. Nexus has slowly degraded into a community that serves adult-only content and mods that cater only to a specific niche (ergo all the anime / hentai mods around). With strict quality control and Bethesda endorsement, Steam Workshop has already shown signs of turning into a healthier and more resourceful modding database. I'm sorry to say this, I really am.
  2. This is my top priority for Skyrim modding. I'll make an arena mod with 5 different arenas (I'll copy some "already in good shape for an arena" sections, like the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun, the Helgen Keep Central Room and one of those dog fight dens from bandit forts), a Champion from all settlements (eg. Kynesgrove, Ivarstead, Rorikstead, Solitude) with additional faction champions (from Thalmor, Stormcloak, Forsworn, Imperial, Greybeard, Vigilants, etc.) to battle against, and there'll be a Headsman making sure rules are at play at all times (no poisoning weapons, no magic, no potions, just brutal combat). If the fight goes foul Headsman decapitates both combatants (and you have to reload your save). Just duels, no team fights (yet). Weaponry and armor are balanced (you start with no armor and work your way up, arena is not level dependent and all gear will be "arena leveled" -> you get better armor and weapons with each win), I'll most likely fiddle with Skyrim's combat a bit to make it more suitable for dueling - blocking needs to mitigate damage more but strain stamina and so forth in that manner. It'll be called "Clash of Champions: Prologue" and you'll hear from me soon when the Creation Kit is released and I'll begin on building on the concept. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of a proper arena mod.
