you can do it, but i would wait until i have figured out, if i can do what i have planed. a wip thread is always an invitation for people to nag you about your progress and say nasty things about you and your work, if you abandon the mod, because you couldn't complete it because of missing knowledge or because of no time for the mod.

some people think, a forum or chat is a democracy. It's not. it's a dictatorship. and the moderators and admins are the ones, who say, whats allowed and whats not. I don't understand people, who are complaining about moderators or admins doing their job. In my years as Community Management Assistant at ATARI Germany i have used my banhammer many times, but i was always inside the rules. If someone violates the rules, he/she will get banned. Thats what rules are for and thats what moderators and admins are for. To keep the forums and the chat free of rule violations. there is no freedom of speech in a privat forum. And since the Nexus is private property, the owner makes the rules. And when we registered on this webside, we agreed to stay within the rules. obey the rules, and everything is fine. violate the rules and get banned. thats the way a forum works.

inactivity of fellow modders is a problem for all of us. but there are many good mesh and texture artists here on the Nexus. just ask for help and look at the work, the people answering your post have done in the past. that way you can get help of good artists. And if you want to start with mesh editing/creating, there are many good tutorials out on the web. a good start is the Nexus wiki. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Main_Page And if you want to work with tools like 3Ds Max, Blender or Photoshop, there are some very good professional webpages with tutorials and workshops too. some of them cost money, but there are free tutorials and workshops too. I wish, i could help you with it, but my Photoshop, Blender and 3Ds Max skills are not very good. i can do some things, but not everything and not very good.

LE So.... what are you working on?
Error404NotFound replied to Korodic's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I AM SPARTACUS!!! sorry, i had to do it  I am working on a playerhome for necromancer/Vampire/Cannibals/goth chars with a lot of gore and blood like bones scattered across the floor, pools of blood, corpses all over the place, and other stuff like that. Don't know yet, if i will ever release it though. depends on if i ever finish it and if i like it. Still working on a way to import bodyparts of the "victims" into the game. have some problems with the file formats. and i am working on some new recepies for human flesh like cooked human flesh, boiled human heart, human meatpie. yes, i am playing a cannibal char  -
the tool is awesome, but also expensive, because it's a professional tool. the options in the CreationKit are very good to edit faces. With the tool, you can scan images of faces and use them to create 3D models of the face in the picture. Thats how you can recreate real people for videogames. it's the fastest way to do it. not the best, compared to 3D scanning, but it works. you can do it with the CreationKit very well. Now i am really interested in your mod. but please, don't rush it. take your time and don't let anyone push you into releasing it to early. In my time as Videogame developer i have fallen into this trap a few times. so be careful  PS: i just realised, that this thread looks more like a pm exchange :D
-
when i find the time, i would gladly help you test the mod. the devs were just lazy to add more faces for the children because there are just a few of them in the game. btw. the tool with all the faces were created is called "FaceGen Modeller" from the about section of the webpage: "•2011, November. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released using FaceGen. " i have used it myself for a Videogame project, i was working on a few years ago. you can create faces with the tool and then import it into the game. but there are a few things, that can't get imported with the CreationKit because of licensing issues. But you can use the tool and try to replicate the results in the CreationKit. It is possible, because i did it in Fallout 3 myself.

a good modder always put the names of the scripts into the readme file. And it should be posted on the frontpage of the moddescription. you can also look in your logfile of the game if there are scripts running that doesn't belong to the vanilla game. another method is to look at the file in the CreationKit. and you can look into the archive file, if there are scriptfiles in it. about deleting old saves: i have all my savefiles, i have ever created in Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas (except 3 files, i had to delete, because i screwed up my saves with my selfcreated mods). With 12TB HDD space in my PC, i have alot of space left for my saves

just go for it. if someone doesn't like children of other races, it's not your problem. noone is forced to download and install a mod. it's all personal taste. just remember the "Macho Man Dragons" mod. it was in the top5 of the mod of the month category for a long time. there are many mods i would never install and there are many mods, i can't live without. If the mod is good and fits my personal taste, i would download it for testing. when i like it, it will stay in my modlist. if i doesn't like it, i will uninstall it. If your mod is good, i will download it. if not, it's ok for me not to download it. But i think, it will add alot of immersion to the game (even if it contradicts the injokes about children in the game). with 150+ active mods for Skyrim alone, i would might call me a "modwhore" because i love to play with good mods, when they add things into the game, i am missing in the vanilla game. :woot: i will track your progress with your upcoming mod. i wish you all the best with it

i would say, that it's NOT against the lore to add children of all races to the game. i would go even further and say, that most of the people would love to have more children in the game (not to many, of course. don't want to have children "overflow" the gameworld). in my opinion, the lack of children in the games (not only in TES, but in most of the games released) is because the devs are scared about lawsuits about killable children, childpornography and other "unsuitable" things with children. on a sidenote: In the Dreamcast Version of the game "Soldier of Fortune", even the female enemies were removed, because you could kill them....

do you want to print it out or buy it? you might want to try http://www.deviantart.com/ for some nice artworks to buy (or to print out, if the owner of the picture gives the permission to do it)
-
There are even injokes in the games about the missing children.
-
there are children of the mer and the Kajiits and Argonier, but Bethesda doesn't bother to add them into the game. if you want informations about lore, try www.uesp.net. it helps alot with lore and other things related to TES.

Why does everyone here thinks, that the next game by Bethesda will be Fallout 4 or TES VI? maybe it will be a completly new IP (Game series). personally i would love a remake of "The Terminator: Skynet", but it won't happen, because of the Terminator license. About Bethesda and storytelling: Bethesda never had good storytelling in any game of TES or Fallout. but really, i don't care, because there is so much to do in those games beside the mainquest. if i want a good story, i would play Baldurs Gate, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reconning or even Fable. For me, it's about the exploration of the world and the lore behind. And thats where Bethesda is doing great. There are many good mods that add more story to the game like Moonpath to Elsweyr. Clearly i would love more content for Skyrim, but if Bethesda wont make it, there are modders who will do it. And i think, that Skyrim will last for as long as Morrowind in mod development. As long as there are modders out in the world, the game will live on. We will see, what Bethesda will do next after E³. TES will continue as a "prequel" with ESO (what a stupid acronym. makes me think of ugly girls with glasses, drinking green tea, eating rotten fruits and vegetables, talking about dolphin ghosts and vortexes in a desert  ). There will be a Fallout 4 some day in the future. maybe a FOOL (Fallout Online) as well. (Bethesda really has some serious problems with acronyms...) Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. Conway Twitty sorry about that. it was a Family Guy attack.... sometimes this happens, when i get lost in my own posts... Like i said, there are a lot of mods out here to continue your game. and there is always the option to play another game. there are many amazing games out right now. many of them even have there own place here at the Nexus. It's not the end of the world. and if it is the end of the world, just listen to Thank you and good night ;D

depends on how many texture packs you want to use. i am using "a lot" of them (15-20 packs) most of them are 4k textures and i have 2GB VRAM. so it's ok to add a few "HD" packs. but the more VRAM you have, the better. if you have more money as the Pope, you might try this card: NVidia GTX Titan ;D

you can disable scripts before you save to prevent them to get saved. if you know how it's called (it's a "questname") you can stop it by opening the ingame console and type "stopquest [questname]" to stop it and it wont get saved. thats called a "clean save". there might be a problem with some scripts, but most of them can be stopped that way. back to topic: for me the only problem was, that Miraak dropped through the floor after the end of the bossfight. i had to use the "No clipping" cheat to get to his corpse. I'm using 150+ mods right now. mostly overhaul mods (better textures, new lighting) and new clothes, but also alot of mods, that uses scripts. i even use "Sounds of Skyrim" without getting savegame bloat. i create a new save file everytime i save the game. no overwrites (except my 6 autosaves). filesize after 500+ hours of playtime: 21MB. the only time my game crashes, it's because i forgot to run BOSS before starting the game. so i have to say, that Dragonborn runs good on my pc, even with all my mods installed. and yes, i have a high-end PC

Skyrim stuck on first loading screen
Error404NotFound replied to Dutchy126's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
had the same Problem a few days ago. had to verify my gamefiles with steam. there were 4 files missing. Steam tends to delete files at random sometimes. don't know why, but it's annoying... -
i just walked away. i try not to use fast travel, because of Immersion. but i use it very rarely. the dragonsouls got absorbed after i walked away and walked back. no fast travel. but sometimes it takes a bit inGame time to "unlock" the souls. sometimes i have to go away from the Dragon more then once.

Skyrim crashing to Desktop and I don't know why
Error404NotFound replied to ReddMcKnight's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
ohh and you could try to get updates for all your mods. -
sometimes the souls aren't absorbed after you defeat/kill the dragon. but when i leave the cell, like moving away for like 500 yards, and coming back to the dragon, the soul will get absorbed as soon as i am back.

Skyrim crashing to Desktop and I don't know why
Error404NotFound replied to ReddMcKnight's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
strange... have you tried to verify your Skyrim data with Steam? i had to do this before i could play Dragonborn. one file was missing. but i played the game just an hour before Dragonborn was released. Steam sometimes deletes files without any reason.... -
Skyrim crashing to Desktop and I don't know why
Error404NotFound replied to ReddMcKnight's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
mmmm. i use some of the mods, you are using too. your load order looks good. can't say anything about the alternative start mod, never used one of those. but the other mods shouldn't be a problem. have you tried this mod? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31083/ It's the unofficial Dragonborn patch. it could solve your Problems. Dragonborn is (sadly) bugged right now. but the patch mod fixes many bugs. give it a try. maybe it will help you (crosses fingers) -

Error404NotFound replied to ReddMcKnight's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
could you post your modlist here? every mod, that is enabled and any DLC you are using. maybe there is something interfering with the script. oh and if you have all the DLC's, try to move them all up to the top of the list in your launcher and/or in the NMM. the DLC's Need to be on top of the load order just under the Skyrim.esm -
Dragonborn DLC creatures not animated
Error404NotFound replied to Hatwig's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
at least it's (mostly) playable. Not like the PS3 Beta of Dawnguard, i had the chance to play last year. That was unplayable. lagging, textures won't load, animations completly stuck and one showstopperbug after another. Yes, i am working in the Videogame industry. sometimes i can get my hands on beta and even alpha versions of new games :D -
i have posted the official press release of The Witcher 3 into the Witcher 2 Forums: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/908112-the-witcher-3-announced/
