Sighted accuracy in Fallout 4 is just a multiplier of Hip-fire accuracy. For gun aim models this makes sense, an accurate hip-fire gun will be an accurate sighted gun, but when you introduce mods you get some weird problems. For example any mod that decreases hip-fire accuracy is making sighted accuracy worse unless the mod also changes the sight multiplier enough to offset the hip-fire change. At first I assumed that the sight multiplier was only multiplying the guns original hip-fire accuracy but I made a test mod that made the pipe guns standard grip increase hip-fire by 100 times and when using the sights the gun was shooting all over the place. Also it seems like they haven't accounted for this in the vanilla weapon mods. Looking at the long barrel and the long light barrel for the pipe gun in the creation kit, despite saying they've both got superior sighted accuracy the long light barrel is more accurate because they both have the same sight multiplier but the long light also has less of a penalty to it's hip-fire accuracy. Was this already well known? I haven't seen anyone mention it anywhere but it seems like it could be a problem when creating weapon mods.
