  1. yeah the issue is that certain items (like underwear) use the same 2 nif files for all their variations and outfit studio only has an option (as far as i can tell) to input one texture. im pretty sure if i remove the textures when editing the mesh in OS then in game they would just turn purple. if i remove my altered meshes then the variations start working again, there must be an option im missing..like a 'let the esp handle the textures' option?
  2. so i got the remodeled armor mod and then went about adjusting all the armors to the custom body i made, however with items like the craftable panties, if i change the mesh in any way then all the craftable panties in game will have the same texture applied to them. same goes for vamp armors from LSAR, if i alter the mesh then the crimson armor has the black armor texture. anyone know a way to fix this?
  3. i think something funky was going on with skse, somehow ive managed to stop the registry errors and also i can play for hours again without ctd's. yay. it was either uninstalling some mods that were giving me issues (ko overhaul + moreHUD), or updating skse to 1.7.1 (prolly the latter) that seemed to have fixed it.
  4. yeah this is weird.. presumably you've tried the obvious and reinstalled skse already? i had some weird things happen when i tried to manually update skse, in the end deleting skse and using their installer sorted it.
  5. quote from another site = The NVIDIA GeForce 710M is an entry level, DirectX 11 compatible graphics card that has been announced in spring 2013, its core is based..........etc etc if you GPU usagae is really high then i think you have your answer, also check cpu usage
  6. i use Ccleaner from piriform (what it is = http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) its essentially a cleaning tool that has a function to check the registry for errors. ive used it for years and have grown to trust it, however after playing skyrim (with skse installed) and running Ccleaner it shows errors in my registry with the extension .skse .bsa .bak (think .bak are from tes5edit maybe) what it says: the file extension Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.skse references an invalid program identifier. These are often left behind after uninstalling software. solution: delete the registry value these 'errors' appear everytime i play, ive tried deleting them and just leaving them as they are for a while, it seems to make no difference, im just wondering whats up with that?
  7. im the same, @ 60fps = stuttery mess in most interior spaces, the only thing that works for me is running in borderless window mode. Annoying because i always feel like im loosing a few frames doing it that way but its better than the stutters tbh. i use the SBW mod but its been set to hidden and the author is directing people to one tweak. also i never tried the borderless features in enb, maybe they work just as good? edit - forgot to mention you need the FPS limiter AND be running in windowed mode for it to work right.
  8. im not sure im reading you correctly, if you crash on the main title screen before you even get a chance to load your game then do the following. -download Tes5edit -install Tes5edit -open Tes5edit -when prompted make sure all your plugins are checked (skyrim.esm doesn't have to be checked) -watch tes5edit load up all the info it needs from your mods, when it gets to the mod that has the missing master it will stop loading and give you an error. -once you know which mod is expecting which file to be present you can either install that mod or remove the mod that is depending on the missing file. -make victory bacon sandwich. if you are crashing on loading into a game (you get past the main title screen) then disregard all of what i just typed.
  9. "setnpcweight xx" is also the solution i have been using it works 90% of the time for me, if that fails then sometimes "resurrect" then going through a loading screen works. on the odd occasion nothing works and i have to reload from before it happened, it is most annoying. ive been experimenting with a procedure i saw for fixing neck seems which often fixes this semi permanently. setnpcweight xx (xx being the actual weight of the npc) disable enable then save
  10. o'realy? it works as normal even tho there a zombie...why didn't i think of trying that... thanks
  11. failing that there is also one located inside your game folder called "Skyrim_default.ini" you could always copy it over to my docs and delete the "_default" bit.
  12. Sorry to say but any use of the games ip without consent would infringe copyright, pretty sure the use of npc's or any aspect of the lore would be considered as such. The question is would they care, technically lets play's on youtube break copyright laws but game companies usually allow it because its free advertising and they don't loose money from it. Considering that you aren't making money from this and that Bethesda probably wont loose any money from you doing this then you might be ok. so i guess the answer is...maybe? If you recall that lord of the rings conversion for skyrim that was shut down by warner bros (or whoever it was). it seemed the only reason they did that was because it prolly would have been better than any other lotr game and they would loose money if they allowed it to continue.
  13. so, weird question, is there any way to teleport a raised zombie back to you via console? basically i raised a named npc, he disappeared on me and now if i raise another zombie i get another 999day timer even tho im only allowed one zombie. often by level 20 ill have 2 or 3 of these 999day timers in the active effects menu. -im using the reanimate dead spell from skyrim redone. -fast travel / waiting doesn't always work -sometimes i can find them stuck in the last dungeon/place they were in, but often not. thx
  14. Any mod that adds new light sources will do this. apparently it is because the game can only handle 4 shadow casting lights at one time and most lighting mods will be at that limit in many places so when you pull out a torch on top of all that the engine will turn off 1 light to stay under the limit. i haven't seen a solution, but i have found some workarounds which i posted here the enb option was working well but i really like lighting mods and high frame rates, so i ditched the enb and am currently using ELFX but instead of using torches or spells to see i use predator vision to avoid the issue rather than fixing it.
  15. check out this vid by gopher, pretty sure this is the problem you guys are having and i once had, DSI was notorious for making this happen when spell casting. he outlines 3 fixes, i used the skse aplha 1.7 option. totally stopped the freezing and it hasn't froze since.
  16. using town overhauls with a lighting mod that doesn't support them maybe? you could try uninstalling real whiterun etc (actually uninstalling not just deselecting the esp in nmm)
  17. Fixed it! turns out i had left some obscure option in my ini files needed for the enb i was using, refreshing them totally solved it.
  18. i got this bug once when i installed/uninstalled a mod that changes npc weight mid play through, also if you use a face re-texture mod combined with a body re-texture mod it can do this in certain lighting conditions, hope that helps
  19. just to add i tried re installing enhanced distant terrain but it didn't solve it..
  20. hi guys, so i uninstalled the enb i was using (gameplay performance enb) and im now noticing some very odd distant tree behaviour, the pic should hopefully explain what i mean, i was just wondering if this was an issue someone has encountered before and know what causes this. http://i57.tinypic.com/2s7ff5t.jpg load order i also use vivid landscapes incase its relevant. thank you for reading
  21. i understand it might not be relevant now but if it happens again you could try typing into the console 'stopquest xxxcminit' then type 'startquest xxxcminit' this will restart the combat system for skyre.
  22. so i found a solution..kind of. i do love lighting mods but this bug/engine limitation, w/e you wanna call it is intolerable for me, so the answer was...insert drum roll...to remove all lighting mods..what are you talking about, u crazeh. let me explain. kind of solution #1 - use RCRN, i tested for a few days and didnt find any areas where pulling out a torch would cause issues and it looked similar to having a lighting mod installed. the only draw back is you cant use weather mods with RCRN, which for me was a huge deal so i couldn't use that. kind of solution #2 - Use this ENB, my issue with ENB's has always been the performance hit, i like running at 60fps (who doesnt?) and i pretty much get 23-40 fps everywhere with most enb configs ive tried, which is equally as annoying as the issue im using it to correct. Then i found a really good performance enb that works well with the 170 odd mods that i have installed with no downside that ive found yet. EDIT: found another kind of solution - use Enhanced lighting and Effects + Realistic Nights + Predator Vision, for some reason ELFX+RN seems to reduce the issue massively, maybe because RN overwrites part of ELFX or that RN comes with an image space fix? i dont know but there are only a handful of places i still see the lights go crazy. when i do come across the bug ill use predator vision instead of torches/spells to see. boom! no light pop in. game look and run gud. fun times where had by all. le fin
  23. thanks guys, so about a day or so after posting my gfx card died \o/ didnt really get a chance to test your theories out before it went. i did play with the shadow bias some and i believe its not related, primarily due to the fact that this doesn't happen outside and from what i read shadow bias affects the shadows cast by the sun only. but it fixed something else that was totally unrelated so thanks for that =p texture mods with no esp i use are.. better rocks and mountains Enhanced distant terrain realistic smok and embers visible windows skyrim sunglare v4 - currently set to hidden the only candidate from that list would be better rocks surely but i also get this inside houses and inns etc... i did use a texture compression tool that i cant remember for the life of me what it was called.. im gonna have to re install all my textures agian aren't i....le sigh.... thanks again
