  1. (edit: I mean FWE in title) Hi. I picked up GOTY version on Steam sale a few weeks back and installed a bunch of mods including EVE & Mart's. I got it to play with no problem exiting out of GFWL before it started, but I missed hardcore mode from FNV, so I looked into FWE. I installed FOMM and FOSE and the mod itself. I used FOMM to redo the load order according to the FWE instructions. Now I can't get it to load at all. It starts and then dies. I read about a conflict between FOSE and GFWL, so I tried a different version of FOSE, but no luck. Is this what is causing my problems? Does anyone know any workarounds? Screenshot with my current load order attached. Thanks in advance for any advice .
  2. So I'm correct in assuming I should be attacked on site by all NCR, given my history. The map does indeed show me as "Vilified" in all NCR encampments. The problem, as I have stated, is that when I approach them, they act completely normally towards me. Talking to me and trading with me and everything. I'm honestly surprised more people haven't seen this problem. I'm at a loss as for what to do. I'll probably start a new game at some point and just hope people act the way they are supposed to the second time around.
  3. Faction issues reported by members have almost (if not always) been mod related.... would you happen to have the Wasteland Defense mod? I haven't installed any mods yet. I wanted to try one play through on vanilla. So what happens if you attack members of a faction and become vilified? Am I correct in assuming they should attack you on site after that? NCR greeting me and trading with me after I kill a dozen of them is either incredibly dumb gameplay or broken, I think.
  4. No one else has faction issues? I'm desperate here. I don't know what to do to make the game playable. It sucks because I'm a huge Morrowind/Oblivion/Fallout 3 fan and I really want to play the hell out of New Vegas.
  5. Some spoilers ahead: I've only played one game so far. I got to the quest with Caesar and decided to side the Legion. I did what he asked in the Mr Houses vault, came out and turned the solar weapon against the NCR. I then decided to hunt down all NCR in my new role as Legion supporter. I killed every NCR I came across--probably about a dozen total. I then went to their base by the lake, I forget what it is called. To my surprise the NCR troopers didn't open fire on me on site. Instead they welcomed me in and told me where the boss was and that I was welcome to go talk to him. I had encountered a few minor bugs prior to this, but this one was a deal-breaker for me. I mean the faction system is such a huge part of the game. I downloaded the latest patch and jumped back into the game thinking maybe they fixed it. No dice. Again I killed NCR all over the place and they still welcomed me in. Has anyone else had this problem? It's a shame because I was really enjoying up until this happened. If I kill guardsmin Oblivion all the guards in the game will attack me on site afterwards. Why can't FNV get this right?
  6. Hi. I'm attempting to start my third playthrough of F3, but I can't get The Pitt to load. I purchased all five DLCs and finished Anchorage and Zeta, so I disabled them in FOMM. I'm basically trying to play with FOOK, MMM, and the remaining three DLCs. I get Broken Steel and Point Lookout showing up in my quests, but can't get The Pitt. I am getting Wernher's radio distress signal, but it never adds anything to the quest screen like the others did. I'm running everything on my Vista 64 laptop. I've played and modded F3 and TES a good bit, so I'm pretty sure I did the install correctly for everything. I've changed the load orders around a bunch, but nothing. A screenshot of my current load order is attached. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  7. That's what I thought, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks.
  8. Does anyone know of a female nude body replacer that doesn't make all the women's bodies identical in shape? In other words, one NPC would be an A-cup and another a D, etc. I've used HGEC and Exnem's and they are great. But after a while having every female in the game with the same bust & rear size gets a bit boring. A minor quibble I know, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.
  9. Forgive me for being late to the party, but your argument is preposterous. Let me repeat: I am level 5 (3 at the start of the DLC) playing on Very Hard with the only mod being the slower leveling mod, set to extremely slow leveling. And I cruised through the DLC and now have arguably the best armor and weapon in the game. Please enlighten me--how could I have made the official game harder???? I played Morrowind and Oblivion (5 times) and they would have never handed the best loot in the game to a low level character so easily. And that's my point in a nutshell. Even though I found the vanilla versions of those games easy as well, they never did anything as ridiculous as hand winter armor and gauss rifle to a character just starting out. You sir, are incorrect.
  10. So after some difficulty I got F3 going with no mods and all 5 DLC. I went into Anchorage at level 3 and after quickly and easily jumping 2 levels I installed slower levelling mod. I have been playing on Very Hard since the start, but I cruised through Anchorage with relative ease. So now I am back at my home with crazy winter armor, stealth armor, shock sword, and gauss rifle. I was surprised such a low level could do Anchorage so easily, ans was even more surprised I got such high value loot. So I went into Worthington Station with winter armor & gauss rifle. I went through whole thing and killed all without losing a single hitpoint. At level 5. On very hard. Not a single hipoint lost. Why would Bethesda allow you to get such game unbalancers so early. I feel like all challenge is gone already, and I just started. :(
  11. Kudos. Thanks a lot. That's pretty much everything I wanted to know. Although I do have one more question: I'm already finding the game too easy at level 3 on VH. I've never installed mods after starting a game, always before. Will I be able to play with FOOK and MMM now that I am a few levels in?? (I know I need to get the FOOK DLC files.)
  12. I played through F3 on XBox already (loved it) and finally got it working for PC yesterday. It only took 6 hours (!!!) for me to download and install 1.7 patch. Anyway, now I am starting my second game. A few questions: 1) I'm sure it has been discussed to death (I did a search, I swear!), but why would I want to blow up Megaton?? I know there's probably a cool animation and it makes you an "evil" character, but the safe havens in this game are few and far between. I mean it is a reliable place to earn cash and buy useful stuff. I just can't think of an upside beyond flipping the script on my game experience a little. 2) I am still only level two. I have all five DLCs. What order would you recommend I play them in? Are certain ones more geared towards higher level characters? I am playing vanilla on VH. 3) When do you get alerts for the individual DLCs? I'm pretty sure I loaded them all correctly, but I have only received quests for Lookout, The Pitt, and Broken Steel, I think (outcasts???). No word on Anchorage or Zeta so far. When do you get the quests for those? Thanks in advance for any help.
  13. Thanks. I will give that a try. I'm so frustrated by Bethesda right now. I played Oblivion straight for 3 years with no issues. I even installed FCOM Convergence a few times and got that working. No problems. I can't get Fallout 3 working without mods. Just DLC, and it won't patch, I'm missing textures everywhere. Sigh.
  14. Hi. I played Oblivion modded for years and never had issues. I've had F3 on PC for 2 months now, and I still can't get the damn thing to play right. My latest problem is getting it to update. I tried installing 1.6. It would load until it got to 13% and then hang. I walked away from the game for a few weeks after that. So tonight I decided to retry. First Games for Windows tells me there is an update. When I hit install it goes to approx 95% (genius MS doesn't give an update %) and hangs. So I quit out and Windows tells me there was an error with F3 and that there is an updated version available. I click on the link to Bethesda, download 1.7 and hit install. Guess what? It goes until 13% and hangs. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.
  15. Thanks for the advice. But I'm confused. I thought patches 1.5 & 1.6 were causing mod conflicts. One of the reasons I want to do a fresh install is to go back to 1.0 or whatever the store-bought version is. The sticky topic at the top of this forum--about getting DLCs and mods to work--advises you to go back to pre-1.5 version. Has anyone seen that texture flickering issue before? If so, what causes it?
