  1. Thanks! So there should be no problem manually downloading, and then having NMM install it to SSE? Maybe I should back up my saves beforehand?
  2. Is there a mod for SSE where you can look down and see your own body, and the shadow you cast, in first person? For immersion.
  3. I was trying to search for shock mods but didn't find anything that changed the number of electric lightning forks and width of the beam and such. Is there a mod that makes novice and expert shock attacks look more concentrated and accurate? For example, like Count Dooku's concentrated and thick lightning attacks in Star Wars Episode 2, compared to Palpatine's Lightning on Luke in Episode 6, which is much more frizzled (image comparison attached). I guess what I'm asking is, is there a Skyrim equivalent of Fallout's E.V.E (Energy Visuals Enhanced) mod? Thankful for response!
  4. When I read a skill book I'm qualified for (+35 in given skill), I just get a top-left corner message saying "Keep Reading, 1/3". The book gives no skill points, even though I am level 4 and have the "Comprehension" perk. If this is a Fallout Wanderer's Edition feature, why is it not customizable? I can't find any entry in the FWE manager that covers skill books and reading pace. I shouldn't have to find every book three times, just to get two measly points. There is no point to do so, you can only get points from a book once and then sell the future books you've already read. Any idea how to disable this and get points from reading books?
  5. Thank you both, guys, I went over the bundle with a looking glass until I'd reinstalled the mods and activated them in the right order. I can now use both Project Beauty, FWE and DarnUI together without problems. Reinstalling the FOIP-mods seemed to have helped as well. There is one small little thing left: after getting everything to work and starting to create my guy, I noticed the eye textures have gotten weird. The "Ghoul" and "raider" colors for eyes have completely gone bonkers, being bright red, both of them. I don't know how I can get back the original eye-textures, since they've been overwritten. Do any of you guys know how to manually re-add the "ghoul" eye texture? So I perhaps can switch to them in Rivet City? You know the eyes I'm talking about? A fat blue iris surrounded by red whites? I can't find a pic of them on Google at the moment, but they are selectable eyes with the FWE-mod installed, only now they're not cool anymore, they're stark red like lava.
  6. I am getting the giant exclamation marks in the start of the game on both the father and the nurse, at birth. Their hair textures are missing, they are bald. If I choose a ghoul at creation, he has no exclamation mark until I change his hair from default-ghoul, then he's bald as well. I have: FWE MMM EVE WMK All the FOIP compatibility patches Project Beauty(Fallout Redesigned) Is there anything I can do to make the hair textures show? Any file update, folder move inside Fallout3\Data, or perhaps a load order trick? This is literally the last bug and problem I have after reinstalling with mods! I got DarnUI to work, and I have installed ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated. I have created a merged patch, no conflicts reported by FO3Edit. I have mimicked the load order from the FOIP-page. The only three .esp mods that are not in the FOIP list are: CALIBRxMerchant.esp Stealthboy Recon Armor - CRAFT.esp CRAFT - Workbench Replacement.esp
  7. I fixed it, I had installed some of the mods in FOMM in the wrong way, by creating FOMODS from folders that had multiple versions of themselves inside.
  8. I tried to install Darnified UI, I put FOSE in the Fallout 3 folder, I installed F.O.M.M, I used FO3Edit to compile a merged patch and then started the game. There is no DUI F3 logo in the bottom right corner, there is no Pipboy logo in the bottom left corner, and if I load a save and then press ESC to get to game menu, I get this gigantic DarnUI tutorial message that cannot be removed, the buttons on the right don't work. Also, none of the DarnUI fonts are in the game, everything just looks like vanilla FO3 both in menu and ingame... Here is my F.O.M.M load order.
  9. Had to post again because some strange scripts added themselves to my post. DJZephyr: How did you make OMOD fix Darnified UI? I have FOMM, how can I make it sort out DarnUI? I have the exact same problem with the gigantic DarnUI window that won't go away. Also, there is no Pipboy logo in the lower left corner of the game menu and there is no "DUI F3" icon in the right corner, below "QUIT". It simply has not been loaded. I am running the game in FOSE through the F.O.M.M. Another strange detail, if I go into the game and switch HUD-color to BLUE, it asks me to restart the game. When I enter the game again, the HUD-color is still green! It's like it doesn't remember my settings! It does remember keybindings and savegames, though. Anyone?
  10. They've made it so that the horse only turns left if you press "left" and "forward", but turns right if you let go of "forward". Many times I'm at the edge of a cliff and can't go forward but need to turn right, so the horse goes left and we fall off and die. I like riding up to High Hrothgar and I get so tired of falling off because we ran out of space and I had to let go of forward-button. Is there an easy way to program the shitty horse controls to turn the way I want, WITHOUT having to hold down "forward"? Or does one have to make a mod for it? Is this found somewhere in any .ini?
  11. Thanks for the tip, will try it out tonight! I know immediately of about 150 Forsworn rotting on the ground in about fifteen outdoor vistas and five dungeons, whose cheap weapons I never looted and who must definitely be taking up savespace. Anecdote: the first time my guy decapitated someone, I tried picking up the head to play with it, then discovered it was still invisibly attached to the corpse and couldn't be moved without also moving the body. I reacted with "aww *sadface*", but now learning of the added gamesave-burden when separating objects from their source (as in them dropped weapons), I'm glad they chose to have the head "stick"! :.)
  12. Is there some way to slim the saves down manually, only losing unessential data? I'm just a layman, but if the major part of my current 6.6 mb gamesaves are location data (dungeon textures, superfluous dungeon chest content lists), could it somehow be gutted so that only my personal data and conversation/quest data with individual npc:s remain? I can't believe my growing skill tree could take up more than a couple of bytes, that's only like "Archery 3=yes, sneak 2=no" or so. I'm thinking of getting a SSD (maybe a Kingston HyperX), will that decrease gamesave load times? By what factor would it improve, have you noticed? Right now my loads take about five seconds, and I have a Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD, ATI 6950 2Gb card and a Intel E8400 processor. I can go 1920x1200 with 8xAA and 2xAF with 70fps, but the loading times are beginning to add up.
  13. Cool, thanks for the input! Rededge: I checked out "Wrye Bash", do you think it can be installed and used retroactively? And alongside Nexus Mod Manager? Since I started this topic, my download time has gone up from 1 hour 12 minutes to 3 hours 10, this is getting absurd, probably won't play at all tonight. You'd think Steam would be used to this thing after all the DLC stuff they've done with Team Fortress and such. Ah well, free stuff, no whiney.
