  1. Yet another update! (I've been working for nearly 24 hours straight now)

    • .wav encoder added
    • Media Player functions added
    • Optimized code & file structure
    • Applied unified naming conventions
    • Added descriptions through comments to all code
    • Added sub-directory support to file browser
    • Added category support to file browser
    • Added output device selection
    • Added text input for sentences
    • Updated screenshot to reflect changes

At this rate it's highly likely a first alpha release will happen soon.

  2. This video from GamerPoets was recently released addressing the issue and what specifically causes it and how to prevent it (:

Ok, I figured it out. Posting just in case someone else had the same problem as me.

  3. Sorry my wording was a bit off, I meant I have 74 patch files, of which I have merged those where posssible.

I did not know that only those mods could be merged, I saw some conflicting info online. I will re-do those and see if that helps, thanks!

  4. Heya all!

I've been working on highly modded Skyrim projects for about 3 months now, and I've gotten to a point where the game is about 99% stable (though this is a wild estimate).

In this time I've made a lot of custom patches and manual edits to ensure maximum compatibility between mods,

though there is still a 1/1000 (again, wild estimate) chance of a CTD happening, and I believe this is due to either scripts misfiring or at the exact same time and I haven't been able to locate the cause yet.

I know it's impossible for anyone to gauge my situation based on the info I've provided, but I also don't think providing my 286 (212 active, 74 merged patches) monster of a load order will be any more clear.

I was just wondering if others have had similar experiences and maybe have some information on what I can do for future builds of my mod list to test for this

    Thanks for reading!

  5. Heya!

First off, don't get discouraged. Modding can be a very difficult process, especially if you're new.

There's an awesome guide by N0rdicCold here (link) that will tell you exactly what mods to pick for maximum compatibility.

This guide is very expansive but I suggest reading at least the first few chapters (up to and including the 'quest tweaks and bug fixes' topic),

this will give you a solid base to work from

But first make sure your game is properly set up to start modding, you should definitely install SKSE (can be found here) and look online how to install it into your Skyrim folder.

You should also look into 'cleaning' your master files, this will help with game stability, look on youtube for more information about cleaning your masters and the program: SSEEdit, a cleaning guide can be found here

And installing the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch is probably a good idea as well, this will fix all sorts of bugs that Bethesda missed during development.

Skyrim just had an update two days ago, so not all mods will function properly at this time, and it's hard to gauge which mods are affected and which not.

For the specific mods you mention, in the guide by N0rdicCold there is a topic further down called: Physical Appearance and NPC overhauls , this topic will tell you exactly how to get the body mods working properly

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask

  6. To prevent this from happening you can make a back-up of the .exe files, which contain the version numder data and disable automatic updates in steam.

Also user Vegachanter explained how to fix it in case this does happen and you don't have a back-up of the files.

  7. HELP WANTED, READ BELOW!

As of right now, this is the active Development page for the Voiced Dialogue Creator.

Be sure to follow this topic if you want to stay updated with the development.

This project aims to bring Skyrim modders a tool to create flawless new dialogue using the vanilla voices. This software is being designed to give small teams and one-person armies the tools to create DLC sized voiced expansions,

without having to record single a word.

    _____________________________________________________________________________

    Overview of features

    _____________________________________________________________________________

    Custom text-to-speech engine

This program will have a TTS engine specifically designed for each Skyrim voice actor. This will feature both manual and automatic generation of words and sentences. A manual visual editor will be added to provide maximum control to the end-user. From this tool you can save and load “Sentence Project” files, import and export .wav files, manage sentence libraries and export/import sentence libraries.

    Word Creation Tool

While Skyrim's base catalog of voice acting is impressive, it's nowhere near the total current 171,476 active words in the English dictionary. This framework will allow you to create words from scratch using optimized vanilla voice files. From this tool you can save and load “Word Project” files, import and export .wav files, manage word libraries, export/import word libraries and manual editing of both existing and created words.

    Post-production

Post-production is key in making or breaking the quality of sound, even more so in something as delicate as human speech. For this reason, a lot of focus will be put on giving end-users the most options in customizing and optimizing their creations. These will include EQ, reverb/echo, layering, mixing, panning, transposing, distortion and compression. To give people even more control, options are being considered to add .vst support in a future build.

    Help wanted!

Because this project is so new I am currently the only one actively developing the software, and therefore I have to keep the scope within reasonable limits. I have a lot more features in my mind that I would love to implement but this is a fool's errand to do alone. If you have any experience developing in C# (preferably in Visual Studio), software design, sound engineering or phonetics, and want to help on a big project that will span several months, maybe even years, send me a message!

    First release

Alpha 1 will be released in October 2018 and will feature the following

    _____________________________________________________________________________

Creation of sentences and words using basic TTS (female Nord voice only)

    Live playback and media controls

    File browser

    Saving/loading “Sentence/Word Project” files

Exporting/Importing sentences and words to .wav file.

Some form of post-production (I am still assessing which to prioritize, I have a framework in place for all features)

    (VDC as of 07-10-2018)
  8. Haha I will try to do my best but in this early stage there is no telling where it will go.

I'm currently pre-pre-pre alpha testing a possible framework to hopefully speed up the creation of the voiced dialogue (a single line can take a few hours depending on how much editing is needed) and I'm working on writing a first draft for the guard dialogues.

But if you spot any specific lines of dialogue that need some work, please let me know who said it where and when, and I will add it to the list

  9. Heya guys and girls!

I'm Jintezaku (or Peter, if you prefer),

I've been playing Skyrim ever since it came out, and until earlier this year I was playing on a laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics.

Now I'm working with a 1050TI and looking to upgrade to a 1080TI once the RTX series settled in, so for the first time ever I've been playing Skyrim the way it was meant to be played and this sparked me to start modding for it.

I am going to go to university for my bachelor's degree in game development next year and hopefully my masters after that. I already have my college degree in the field.

So after playing around with others peoples mods (adding and changing stuff) I finally feel like I have a solid base to start my first real mod.

My father is a music producer and has taught me a lot about composing, producing, sound design & more and I'm always looking to find ways to implement what he taught me into my projects.

This is why my first real mod is going to be focussed around NPC dialogue and voice acting, and more specifically adding dialogue options where they are missing to allow for different RPG playstyles.

This was the inspiration for starting this mod, so a big shoutout to Zaric Zhakaron for reminding me of how terrible the dialogue can be sometimes.

This is ofcourse still very early days in the mod and aside from a few lines I created there isn't much to show for it yet.

But I didn't make this post to boast about yet to be fulfilled ideas and promises but to find as many bad dialogue options as I can. If you know any lines or dialogue options which are not up to standard, please let me know so I can include it in this mod!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any comments or feedback are appreciated (:

*Edit I forgot to add that I'm first getting my bachelor's, 'cuz getting a masters would be damn impressive otherwise
