  1. Im planning on building my first gaming PC and am really looking forward to modding Skyrim. I completed the main storyline in vanilla years ago (never did any dlc- I know, shame!) Im just curious to see whats the most people have done to redesign/curtail/mod to the hearts desire while completing a run through of Skyrim without any technical problems. So whats the most youve done (Number of mods)?
  2. Im honestly asking because I wanna know if I should play through the vanilla version first before modding. Also, Im curious to see just how much overhauling/redesigning/curtailing to personal taste can reasonably be done for what would be called an actual playthrough ^^
  3. Ohoh man Im trying hard not to be overwhelmed by all this. Would that essentially be the same cooler that one would get for the gpu? If not that means I have to get two coolers? If so which ones would be best? Sorry guysthis is all starting to make my head hurt ^_^;
  4. Ok so I kinda rolled the dice a bit and went with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core 16-Thread Desktop Processor with AMD 3D V-Cache technology So my guess is next I should go for a motherboard. The one recommended to me was an MSI MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM4 MotherboardBut PC partpickersays there would be compatibility problems. How do I go about choosing a motherboard (generally)?
  5. In that case I see I think Id like to go with Amazons choice of EVGA GeForce RTX 3080ti So next would be figuring out what CPU goes with that right?
  6. Well that certainly looks more affordable than my previously stated budget range- hard to say no to that. Now I know some people have said that you dont really need any special parts to play modded games- that modded games are still just games. However Ive also seen YouTube channels dedicated to mods say that certain mods are certainly more taxing on your system than others. That being said, although Mr.Heyyou says the build hes just suggested would run Bethesda games quite well, would they be able to tackle a significantly enhanced bethesda game?
  7. Does that build allow for a more modern monitor? Also, 60fps would be the desired frame rate for any game to have that newer feel correct? Sorry guys. Im trying but a lot of this still looks like Im trying to read a foreign language ^^; I also feel this weird pressure to buy soonlike world events could soon make parts more expensive and hard to come by.
  8. Ok so I went to PC partpicker and took a look at the sample builds. After checking out the ones that were in my budget range I then looked to the comment section only to findmuch debate. Therefore my OCD brain went haywire and found myself paralyzed for almost a day =D So perhaps I can just askwhich part should I start with? So far everyone seems to say that the graphics card is the star of the show. So should I start there? I swear it seems the anxiety behind deciding on how to build a PC is tougher opponent than building the PC itself
  9. Are water pumps that much more difficult to work with? This is still my first pc and I dont really know what Im doing ^^;
  10. Well Im looking at $2500-$3000. Might be willing to go a little overmaybe (seems like everythings more expensive nowadays anyway). But Ive heard that one could do a decent job of modding games with just such a budget. ^^
  11. Im looking to build my first gaming PC and feel excitedand at the same time, a little over my head. I want to do so because Ive seen some amazingbasically redefining of games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. That being said, would anyone know where I should start first in this seemingly messy Lego set for adults? Any help would be greatly appreciated ^^;
  12. I know I said that I wanted to build it myself, but thereâs actually a pre-built on sale at my work now that has a 20 series card (like HeyYou suggested). It has the following specs: IBuypower co1000I Gaming desktop w/ 6gb graphics card Intel i7-170700F processor 16gb ddr4 ram 2tb hard drive 480gb solid state drive Nvidia GeForce rtx 2600 6gb graphics card 802.11ac wireless Does anyone know if this would be a good starting build for modding Skyrim and other sandbox games?
  13. I'm still learning all the in's-n-out's of pc's parts/modding, but very quickly becoming enthused with both. At first I wanted the best kind of setup for something specifically for modding Bethesda games. However, I've also become intrigued by the idea of streaming as well. My budget is somewhere around $1500. I also realize the global situation has prompted a shortage of certain components and that it might be a while before I might be able to get certain components. Really any recommendations for a beginner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and hope you're all well in advance.
