  1. Railguns are different. Both use magnetism, but Gauss weapons in particular use them in a coil fashion. Yes, the Gauss rifle from Anchorage is indeed based on actual Gauss technology. It's highly unlikely that Bethesda randomly made up an already well known technology, after all.
  2. a great additon to a steam/cyber -punk game.

Er... what are you referring to by Steampunk? Definitely not Fallout 3 or Ghost in the Shell, as I'm pretty sure neither have Victorian era culture mixed with steam/clockwork based technology. The closest thing to Steampunk Fallout 3 has is the Railway Rifle, and the closest it gets to Cyberpunk is Tranquility Lane and Vault 112. Steampunk and Cyberpunk are very, very different. Just correcting you on your use of science fiction genres, cos I'm a huge steampunk geek.

Anyways, I liked Ghost in the Shell. I'm not really a fan of cyberpunk, though. I just think it's silly, really. I guess it's because I'm not really into futuristic science fiction and the like, and I have an adverse reaction to lasers and plasma weapons. I generally lose interest when Cyberpunk and mechas roll in.

    But I won't oppose your wishes. :)

  3. Uhh... I guess you could read the first post and the most recent pages. That might work. But generally, unless they're really interested or involved in the mod, people won't post other than to say "Good job!" or give a critique. Or flame them, in the nastier cases. But most of the time threads don't last that long. And on the Bethsoft forums, a thread gets locked after 200 posts, so that kinda lets people who are new to the mod keep up to date. But The Nexus doesn't use that, for the reason I just stated. The only thread that's gotten very long is the thread for the BF2142 mod. And for that case, see my first few sentences.
  4. You're working on a lot of rather difficult mods lately. Are you actually going to finish one? Because it seems you just have a concept, make a thread about it, make some videos/pictures and then not fully follow through. You should focus on one or two projects at one time, so you don't get bogged down by work. There's plenty of time to finish them all, so don't worry.
  5. Actually, that wouldn't require scripting the weapon. You'd just need to add a new critical hit effect, and set it to activate on death. That stuff is at the bottom of the weapon's window. I forget how to add a new critical effect at the moment, though.
  6. Perhaps it's another Lone Wanderer with his party of Foggs the Super Mutant, Sharen the Ghoul, and Jerryco the Ex-Raider? It's fun to think of it that way. That's a good idea for a mod: make another party of adventurers out in the Wastes that does stuff like the player.
  7. You should post some pictures of stuff you made, to show people that you actually are skilled, and not just someone who thinks they're skilled.

Just give us some pictures, either ingame or in the GECK. That'd be quite helpful! :)

  8. I say you should add Cube Experimental to your list of mods. It's a really good, complex quest mod. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6270

Another is DCInteriors, which basically adds interiors to a lot of boarded up places in DC. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5573

And don't forget Weapon Mod Kits!! http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3388

As well as Mart's Mutant Mod. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3211

If you need a good screen capture program (that's free), use MWSnap.

I host my pictures on Imageshack.

Sorry for the wall of advertisements. It's what you asked for, after all! :)

I'm looking forward to this. Are you going to be doing it like a regular Let's Play? As in, recording gameplay with commentary?

  9. I meant long range, not close. And I checked, Pelinor's overhaul does'nt add scopes or new ammo types. If you mean Shooter, that is. Cos that's the only Sniper Overhaul by him on the site. As far as I know, cos I'd like a link if it isn't.
  10. Hey, welcome back!

Yeah, with (or without, I dunno) FOSE, you could probably make that script. I'm no script genie, but I guess you could set the weapon to gain X Health when the player does something, then have the script check how many ingame hours have passed, and if 12 hours have passed, have it lose X health.

I'm not sure about modder's resources for that kinda stuff. There's CRAFT for the workbenches, I guess that kinda counts...

And there is no articles or anything on vendor/loot lists, however the GECK wiki might have something. Related to that, you might want to know that CALIBR, which your weapon mods should use, is at version 1.2.

    Here: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3447

Most people are using CALIBR these days. It's just better.

  11. Looks like a cool mod. Doesn't seem very sniper-y, though. Maybe you could add in a part where you have to eliminate a bunch of guards or something at close range.

Also, what's the sniper overhaul mod you're combining this mod with? I assume you didn't make it yourself, as you said you aren't a good scripter. I know Pelinor's overhaul doesn't add NV Scopes or new ammo types.

  12. I'm pretty sure that's copyrighted. The mod author would have to get permission from Relic or THQ to use the sound, I think. Or does that only apply to music and dialogue clips?
  13. Henrietta's outfit from Gunslinger girl would go well with the P90 mods already out. Maybe I should make a Rico character?

Actually, I'm making Henrietta, Rico and Triela as followers. Henrietta is basically done, I used the Schoolgirl Outfits mod for her clothes, but there's nothing for Rico or Triela. I hope someone makes their outfits. There really aren't enough female clothing mods that include pants. I wants me some pants.

  14. Well, if you want feedback on the dialogue, I can do that.

So far, it really seems quite stiff. It's kinda like:

    PC: "Hi there!"

    NPC: "Oh, hi! Goodbye!"

The conversations are waaaaay too short. If you want an idea of how to write PC to NPC relationships and dialogue therein, then download this guide to the Baldur's Gate 2 romances. They (the romances) are incredibly well written, some of the best writing in any video game, and are very similar to what you are attempting to accomplish. They involve meeting these characters, getting to know them, and pursuing a romance if you wish. Now, I don't expect your mod to be that good, it's just a good thing to base your dialogue and stuff of of, and to learn from.

  15. Oh, man. I was listening to screams and other sounds to add into the level at points. At night. With the lights off. I had to put on some happy music afterwards to save myself from the nightmares.

Yeah, this mod will freak you out. I hope I don't wet myself playtesting it...

  16. Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully this dungeon will be good and scary. Fallout 3 needs more horror mods. Anyone know how to do some of the stuff from Vault 108, like the hallucinations and stuff?
