  1. What're you saying about my mother? ;-)
  2. Take any torches away from her. And unfortunately, Lydia isn't marriable by default.
  3. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/316-nexus-site-forums/
  4. Magic Menu > Shouts Move to a locked Shout Hit your Ready/Sheath Weapon button Hit Yes.
  5. By default (ie: with no console tweakage) Lydia is un-marriable.
  6. Daedric Armor is better. After you get the Heavy Armor perk "Conditioning", weight doesn't matter. To get Daedra Hearts for the armor, do the quest line after level 20 that starts with the Museum Pamphlet that a courier will give you. You should be able to get 4 Hearts at the end of this quest.
  7. With the aid of enchanting (fortify smithing) and pre-made enchanting and smithing potions, and of course the appropriate armor perks, you can reach the armor cap with any style or type of armor in the game, even hide and iron armor. All without even using a shield. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Armor_Rating#Armor_Cap
  8. Also, interestingly enough, Lydia is the only housecarl that you can't marry.
  9. Simple answer: You don't. Your reward for protecting Whiterun from the Dragon attack is the offer to purchase property and then become the Thane. All housecarls are mainly versed in Heavy Armor and One-handed weapons, but are also strong in Archery and Blocking. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Followers
  10. I actually did download that emulator but I'm not really sure how to set it up correctly. http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/wiki/MainPage Essentially, copy the exe, ini (if it exists, it will be created if not) and dll to the game's folder. Run the exe and set up your controller. Once you're done, click Save and close the program. Start the game, you should hear a beep or something to indicate that the dll has be loaded and is 'tricking' the game into thinking your controller is an XBox360 controller. Note that if you don't have a controller plugged in and you run the game, the dll will still load and may slow down your game while the dll tries to find a controller, simply move the dll out of the game folder (or rename the dll).
  11. Ebonyflesh only provides 42.3% of damage reduction, provided that this is coupled with 3/3 Mage Armor. If not, it only provides 14.1% reduction. This might be useful for lesser minions, Dragonhide (and a quick couple of mana potions) can turn the fight in your favour when going up against bosses.
  12. Sorry about my fail-maths. Despite the animation, it appears that Dragonhide can be dual-cast for a total time of 99 sec. Base: 30s Stab: 45s Dual Cast: 66s Stab+DC: 99s (45s [from Stab] * 2.2 = 99) http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Alteration#Mage_armor_perk_.2B_Master_spell_Dragonhide 2nd-to-last paragraph under that section reads; Dragonhide also cannot be cast while moving, has a long cast time, and can be inerupted. It essentially armor caps the player. Because its duration is so short and its clunky to use, I use ebonflesh 90% of the time at 52 on master. Note in the spell calculations that it CAN be dual casted, despite the misleading animations. When holding both spell casting buttons, Dragonhide jumps to 99 seconds with stability perk.
  13. Dual Casting is a 2.2x multiplier. Dragonhide Armor Base: 30 sec Stability: 45sec Dual Cast: 66sec Stability + Dual Cast: 99sec Edited for fail-math. DH can be dual-cast.
  14. Ores are smelted at a (gasp!) Smelter. You can find one in Whiterun past the Blacksmith's Forge.
  15. All armors can reach the 80% armor cap, and Alteration has the spell Dragonhide which provides 80% armor for 30 (60 with Stability) seconds. All that really matters is what perks suits your character.
  16. You can use x360ce to emulate the xbox controller using any controller, google for it. IMHO: Apart from the travesty that is the Skyrim menu system, WASD+Mouse is better than a controller.
  17. My opinions: 1) Gahh! Orange? What possessed you to changed the default font colour? 2) WTF are you talking about?
  18. If you turn off the compass, you can simply use the stars and sun for directional information. A totally UI-less conversion would be pretty awesome, a backpack for your items, opening chests would show actual items inside, you'd have to dig out your septims to pay for items and so on.
  19. Prepare yourselves, the bells have tolled! Shelter your weak, your young and your old! Each of you shall pay the final sum! Cry for mercy; the reckoning has come! .. or is that the wrong game ;-)
  20. Update.esm load regardless of if it's selected in the NMM. Since it's not an actual mod, if you don't have any other .esm's or .esp's, then Data Files will be greyed out. Properly install a mod and use NMM to activate it. You shouldn't need to use the Launcher for mod management.
  21. If you're Imperial aligned, you can perchase Hjerim (Windhelm) after "solving" the dispute between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks. If you're Stormcloak aligned or haven't chosen a side, you'll have to investigate the murders plaguing Windhelm.
