  1. I think lore-wise Orcs are related to Elves, so they probably would be able to have children just like Elves. Also, to make a children mod for the Khajiit would be hard to keep accurate to the lore, since the form of Khajiit children changes according to what moon was out when they were born. Some are more cat-like, others more human-like; some are bigger, others are smaller, etc.
  2. Bump in the hope someone can help me.
  3. A 1:1 scale would be way too much work if you wanted to do it right, but keep in mind that even if you scale everything up by a factor 2 (the world becomes twice as big), that means you need FOUR times as much content to fill everything. And sure, you could probably fill up a lot of that with generic forest/swamp/tundra/whatever, but as others have pointed out that would just add a lot of pointless travel time, without actually adding much to the game itself. Because of that, I think the biggest strength of a mod like this is the amount of space it creates to actually do stuff with. I'm sure there will be plenty of modders looking for a good place to build their own custom house/dungeon/city/fortress/whatever, and if there was 4 times as much space to work with, they would have a lot less trouble finding a cool place to do their thing without creating any conflicts with existing content. So the rescale mod wouldn't necessarily be great on its own, but it would be an awesome base template for other modders to work with. And the more people would support the rescaled world in stead of the default world, the more awesome the end result would be.

    CBBE

It's not the first, but IIRC it is the first that isn't just a retexture. And IMO the smoothness isn't what makes it so unattractive, but the completely unrealistic proportions. If there was a mod with the same quality but using more appropriate proportions it would be a lot better.

    CBBE

I really don't see the point in nude mods to begin with, so I'm obviously a bit biased here. But I do agree that the CBBE looks terrible. I'd rather allow some time to pass so that some more people take a shot at improving the body meshes/textures of the game, and then see which one is best. It's way too early to say CBBE is the best just because it's the first and apparently horny teens will download anything with tits.
  6. I am the hero Skyrim deserves. I started this as a joke. I've heard a lot of people referring to the Nightingale armor as "that Batman armor", so I figured turning the Nightingale armor into an actual Batman suit would be funny. It's obviously a WIP, since there are some parts of it that don't look very Batman-like, but I'm putting it on hold for now until I figure out how to edit parts of the mesh. Unfortunately, I don't think this mod will be suited for publication, since it uses someone else's texture work as a base.
  7. I imagine this would require quite a lot of animation work, but I'd love to see someone make a mod like this. Very cool idea!
  8. I think it's partially a matter of time and resources (less variety means less models/textures/animations), and partially a matter of realism. In reality you almost never see many types of large predators in one area, so when you've got bears, wolves, giant spiders, sabre cats, mudcrabs, along with the more humanoid monsters like spriggans and trolls all living in a (relatively) very small area, that's already far more than you'd ever see in a real situation (unless it's a zoo). While fantasy worlds are often known for their unrealistically large biodiversity, I imagine they wanted to keep things from getting too crazy and not stuff the entire world full of weird monsters. That said, it would be pretty cool to see like a tribe of goblins living in a large cave somewhere.
  9. I've tried to mess around with adding an alpha layer, but when I follow this tutorial and try to see it ingame, the game gets stuck in the loading screen.
  10. I'm a new modder and I've been playing around with armor textures for a bit, but now I want to make some changes to the mesh itself (specifically, removing those skirt/thigh-plate things on the Nightingale armor). Is there any easy way to 'disable' parts of a mesh like that (or use a transparent texture maybe, to make it invisible?), or would I have to actually remodel part of the mesh myself? I know how to extract the mesh, but I've never used Blender or 3DSMax or anything like that, so I'd rather avoid that for now if it's at all possible.
  11. I also had a problem with the DDS converter, except it made all of my textures blue in stead of black. I can confirm the Nvidia plugin for Photoshop works far better, as I have had no problems at all so far using that.
  12. Looks like switching to Photoshop did the trick. Still no idea what actually caused the problem in the first place, but if using Photoshop takes care of it that's good enough for me. Onwards, to bigger and better things!
  13. I'm 100% sure I didn't use the bumpmap file in stead of the texture file. Also, I've tried to mess with the settings, used different compression/no compression, but it doesn't seem to help. I'll dig up my student copy of Photoshop, maybe that will work better. I'm more familiar with PSP since I've been using it for many years, but I think Photoshop has better support for stuff like this.
  14. Hi all I'm pretty much a total noob at modding, but I wanted to give it a try. I decided to start simple by making some minor edits to the Nightingale armor and see how it works out. Everything seemed to go well, until I viewed the edited armor in the game itself. What went wrong? Well, see for yourself. I have no idea how this happened, since I didn't even use the color blue at all. My best guess is that something went wrong with saving the texture, but I have no idea what. I used DDS Converter 2.1 and Paint Shop Pro 9 to edit the texture. Any help would be very much appreciated.
