  1. The main problem I've been having is autoplaying video ads. Most of them don't have sounds (thank goodness) but they tank my browser's frame rate (three second delays inbetween frames is NOT acceptable) and eat up a lot of bandwidth unnecessarily.
  2. I recently came back to Fallout, after Skyrim rekindled my old love of Bethesda games. I remembered 20th Century Weapons, from mods that went under my "freaking awesome" category, and since I wanted to play New Vegas first, I went looking there. There was a port, but it is under moderator review. But, I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here for a bit more worrying reason. After that, I went looking around a bit harder to see if there was a proper port by Einherjrar himself. There wasn't, that I saw, but I'm also not here to talk about that. What I am here to talk about, was that when I went looking for the original Fallout 3 mod, it wasn't there. And, seemingly, neither is Einherjrar. If the mod was still there, but under moderator review, I wouldn't have brought it up, and would have moved on. If there was some clue as to why it's gone, I wouldn't be here, either. If Einherjrar was banned (he isn't, as of writing), I wouldn't be here. But, none of those are satisfied. The 20thCW mod itself is gone, there's little if anything I can dig up on what exactly happened, and Einherjrar isn't banned. If any of those were satisfied, I would just gloomily walk away, figuring that a permissions issue was raised somewhere along the line, or Einherjrar pulled a dumb move with porting weapons, and the repercussions were strong. All I've managed to dig up, is one post in the (locked) thread for the original mod, alluding to it being taken down under moderator review (which isn't particularly strong evidence), an earlier post in the same thread, about Einherjrar having some technical difficulties, Einherjrar not being banned (that I can tell), and that while his old mods are still technically existent, they are hidden. Which is why I have turned to you, the community, to ask what happened. Was there a permissions scandal, that was covered up? Did Einherjrar pack up and leave, without telling anyone in a public way people could dig up later to learn the truth? Did he, but I just somehow missed while searching? Am I just insane? You tell me. I just hope that Einherjrar's disappearance isn't a touchy subject; otherwise I might get a bloodied nose for this. Please don't... I don't want to get manhandled by LHammonds ;_;
  3. Well, I was aiming more for the more modern (As is the handgun pictured, I'd imagine.) versions. Like, an upgrade from the vanilla .357, both in weapon (There are pretty big differences in caliber, and specific workings, depending on time-frame. The weapon has been chambered for 30 different calibers.), as well as in caliber; and thus significant increase in power, minor increase in accuracy, and decrease in fire speed (Bigger gun, bigger hammer, harder to pull; in my experience, at least.). Compared to the .44-40 round, I would rather the proven stopping power, comparatively wider spread, and familiarity of the .45 LC round. There's just something pretty about this gun, especially when it's in the not-quite-modern-but-close-enough shape in the picture I provided, rather than in the older, more rugged designs. And there's just something poetic about the .45 round-- just something American about it; whether we're talking about modern ACP cartridges, or older, vintage cartridges; I just love the caliber. It works. Especially in video game physics. Quoth the Wikipedia page:
  4. I'm writing to request that someone create a variant on the puny little crap Single Action Army that is chambered in .357, that come in New Vegas. One made in .45. Y'know, the really big one. Like this one: http://www.thelegendbegins.com/peacemaker.gif Now, I have no idea what model, specifically, this one is; but it looks the best, in my opinion. And if you create this new version of an old classic, it'd be nice if it had the same nickle-plated finish, just so it looks different at base level, too; but beggars can't be choosers. At least use Millenia's nifty texture, if you don't make/find any other texture, okay? I'm guessing you'd be able to figure out more about the weapon than I could really tell you from the Wikipedia page. Still look the most bad ass if it was the same as in the picture model-wise, and chrome textured. A link to the Wikipedia page, so that I don't have to write a bunch of other stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Single_Action_Army Why do I want this weapon? Simple. It's a big gun, it fits the post-Apocalyptic Western feel of New Vegas, it's chambered in .45, and rule of cool, as well as Fallout's stats system states that the only pistol that should surpass this one (And maybe even not then, given balancing.), is the stock, or mod-added, .44 revolvers, and desert eagles. This means that it would be a very powerful weapon. And besides, who wouldn't like to have a magnum where you're forced to load shot by shot, but be rewarded for it by it being rather accurate, and very powerful? I know I would. Besides, you can not look at the specific model image I posted and not say "Bad. Ass." Seriously. Try it. Unless magnums aren't your thing, you can't. Admit it. You know you want to blow a hole in some guy with this, now that you've seen it. Like any request, I realize that it's not guaranteed to be made. And I also realize that anyone who attempts to make this will be doing so out of volunteer work; or me giving them the idea, and then them doing it on their own power. As such, no one is forcing you to make this. Hell, no one is even forcing you to do a very good job, even if you do. Just edit Millenia's texture (With permissions, of course!) for the .357 version to be silvery, chamber it in the .45 Colt round in Caliberx (Or similar mod.), and change the stats; all while using the standard .357 version's model, and that'd be good enough. Not a very good job, but it's close enough to be usable. Now, a real trooper would make a custom model based on my picture, make a silver texture from scratch (Or maybe even get Millenia to do it!), get sounds that fit (Maybe from the real thing, even!), and make an entirely new weapon, and add it to leveled/vendor lists. But I'm guessing the chance of someone doing that good of a job is about as high as the chance of more than twenty people viewing this post (Note that there isn't really a problem with that; but the more people who view it, the higher a chance one of them will either make it, or toss the idea to someone who can and will.). Slim. Hell, I just feel good adding a better possibility that this hard-hitting, stylish badass will be created-- properly. Unlike what Obsidian did. f***in' .357...BAH!
  5. Cool sounding mod. I've always wondered why there was no ability to take a breather in either Morrowind or Oblivion. Walking regenerates as fast as standing, and taking a breather (Crouching, and standing still) doesn't change anything either. Now that's different!
  6. DAMN IT! That sounded like it would work. Hell, it should have worked! But, alas, it didn't. That means something about the mods is raising a shitstorm. Perhaps load order...? Ah well, thanks for trying to help. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some sort of patch, or executable script, or something of that nature to fix it-- that it wasn't just a bug.
  7. I'm completely stumped. I installed a bunch of mods, a bunch of mods that was working, before I had to re-install FO3 since it decided it didn't want to work anymore, and now the menu won't show up. The game starts fine, and everything. Made by Bethesda, this is Fallout 3, all of that good stuff. Problem is, keyboard does nothing, mouse cursor never shows up, and menu never appears. It just rolls the start-up credit-type slideshow, and the menu music, right up 'till when the main menu would be, for as long as I let it. In case I need to clarify further/Short version: It starts the game regularly, but the main menu is never accessible. Any way to potentially fix this, without me having to re-install and do it ALL. OVER. YET. AGAIN.
  8. Ermh...No. I'm going to take a guess that that's an anime, and, well, I just don't watch anime. Although, I have to admit, I've at least heard of all of the other, most popular ones, and I haven't heard one word about this one, not from my anime watching friend, and not from my favorite gaming forum. I'm sort of a hybrid between "Hardcore" FPS players, and RPG players that get a little too into the game. Or at least the stereotypes. I traded out being a complete douche, which usually comes with the FPS territory; and I traded in a knowledge of pretty much anything Japanese, which generally comes with the RPG territory, seemingly. Now, what I traded them for, I'm not entirely sure. I think I traded in the FPS thing for actually being socially competent, and not being a complete prick. And I'd like to think I traded in RPG thing for having some knowledge of Russia. Их музыка, в частности, брат!
  9. Huh, really? It isn't right now; at least right when I checked. Weird.
  10. Eh, I'll try. Never tried image posting before, but if this works there'll be three images I'll put up. http://img842.imageshack.us/i/screenshot31d.png/ http://img835.imageshack.us/i/screenshot32p.png/ http://img688.imageshack.us/i/screenshot33o.png/ Hmm. Well, that's not quite what I expected, apparently you aren't allowed to use .pngs on this forum. Oh well, saves me the trial and error of finding a size to use for a thumbnail. Just sets 'em up as URLs so you can just view them on Imageshack. Also, just a warning, they aren't NSFW; because I don't sexualize my characters. Also, she never takes off that mask. Her reason: She wants to stay anonymous. She only takes it off in the company of friends. My reason: Her face didn't quite turn out the way it was planned...The shape is good enough. The texture? Not exactly crisp. It's a little imperfect, which isn't good enough for me. Besides, the mask is badass... Also, I think you're the first Disgaea reference I've seen on this site; congratulations. Also, question me about any mods involved, and I'll happily deliver. I hate it when something is featured in a video/screencap, and I don't what it is, it isn't in the description, and no one effing tells me. They're all (Last I checked, a couple weeks ago) available, right here on the Nexus.
  11. Although I think I figured out the problem: I have Ren's Guard Overhaul, and I think the settings may be botched up a bit, for it: Sometimes NPCs will just run around, and cower, if you commit a crime, because they're supposed to go report it to a guard, but for some reason they don't. That is a rare bug for me, so maybe this is a mutation of it, since I pickpocketed a vault key off of a vault guard, and he likely saw. I still like my more humorous, completely impossible reasons, though...
  12. Why do I say this? Simple. There are no such things as flat-chested catgirls. It is a known fact that catgirls are naturally very busty. Thus, if you perceive your catgirl to be flat-chested, you are delusional. That's not entirely true. It exists, it's just rare. Like people who don't think FO3 is just Oblivion with more brown, gray, and firearms, or worse than (Modded, not vanilla, God no!) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. And they did include cup sizes down the spectrum from D with HGEC. Mine is using the smallest available, actually. Just a step up from flat-as-a-brick. More cute, less absurd, less...ermh...distracting. And certainly makes more sense with speedy short-blade wielding thief-ey types. Just like I said in a private message: "I also especially like the HGEC body when it has AA cup size, because then it's proportional. It gives more life to the look of the ultra-fit ultra-thin assassin or thief characters. besides, I like my character the way they look now. I'd just like to have the option of giving them armor, because I already have enough clothing outfits through a combination of your mod, and a certain modder's mods store."
  13. "I was wandering around the Imperial City, looking in the crates for stuff to sell (Ey, Urbul gro-Orkulg's kunai are expensive, man!), when I heard footsteps. At first I thought it was a guard, and that they had found the body of the Red Diamond Jewelry guy (Yes, I have no idea what his name is, he's so useless. Only useful if you enjoy bling. (Or robbing people >:3)), and they were coming for me, so I ran. But then I realized "Hey, they wear armor. I'm being followed by clothed feet." and turned around. And noticed Delos Fandas was following me. At first I talked to him, and thought nothing of it, and walked away. He continued following me. After a few more steps, I decided to let me feet do the talking and start sprinting, turning around every once and a while to see him still following me! I ran outside of the city walls, and he stopped chasing me after a while; but it still weirds me out...Why was he following me?" Maybe he wanted to do unspeakable things to my character...Whether you take that from option A or option B is your choice (And says more about you than me. Pervert.). Option A: He has a thing for flat-chested catgirls. (Those crazy Dunmer, eh?) Option B: He was friends with Hamlof (I looked his name up!), and he saw my character leaving his store, walked in, curios as to if he made a sale, saw the body, and decided not to report my character; but to take action into his own hands. This thread is partly because I find this, and the possible reasons behind it, to be rather humorous, and partly because I wonder if there's a reason why this is happening, and if there's a fix for it. This "problem" in and of itself, is a non-issue, the problem lies within me not being able to ransack the Imperial City if I'm being followed, and watched! (By the Nine, I'm starting to sound like Glarthir!)
  14. Well, I would have. But, I'm a rook here; I don't know how to. So perhaps you could tell me how, so that this doesn't happen again?
  15. Yeah...That went well. This was originally going to be something I'd make myself, but that didn't turn out too well. And as such: I decided to bring it here, maybe someone will make it, where I failed and had to leave with my tail between my legs (Pun not intended....Mostly.). Basicly what it is, is just a cloth band, the colors of which usually being black, or maybe crimson red, with a silver, or golden bell on it. No, not like the kind on chapels, mate. You should know what I'm talking about. If you don't, I'm still including some reference pics. If you need me to explain the bell, even though I gave you several bloody photos, it's somewhat small, it's attached to the band with a small ring, or tiny ball, it is a sphere shape, with a wrapped ring around the centre, and a hole for the ringing bit is a line, on the bottom, with small sphere shapes at either end of the hole. AND IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE KINDS OF PARANOID PEOPLE; NO, THEY ARE NOT VIRUSES, JESUS. Why caps? To get your attention, of course.
