  1. Thank you niston thats proberly it, I'll check it out. But what about the plants put in game because they are all doing it.
  2. I've now uploaded my first mod to Nexus and Bethesta. Ash's Clean Sanctuary
  3. Ye it does'nt seem to make a difference. I've been playing the game between editing and been to and from Sanctuary many times with many saves.
  4. ye it does'nt seem to make a difference, I've been playing the game while do the editing so been to many places with many saves.
  5. I've worked out the green cell edgeing, I hade'nt put both side's close enough so they are now using the bridge but i'm still seeing the gardner's floating while working.
  6. no I have'nt gone as far as the bridge yet and as for Sanctuary Cell 0 I only removed what I had to because of the changes I'd made then redone the navmeshed, made sure it was all flat, finalized it and saved it. I have replaced the bridge with the prewar one but it is navmeshed and worked fine before I changed the navmesh in Sanctuary cell 0.
  7. I've now finished navmeshing Sanctuary cell 0 as a test to see how I do for my first time and strange things are happening. 1) Npc's on the most part walk on the ground fine but when garderning they are slightly off the ground? it's like the plants add a navmesh on top of the current navmesh but when finished step down to the ground. 2) The provisioners are not using the bridge even though I have'nt touch that area, they walk down the road (prefered navmesh path) then turn left off the road and over the wall into the river under the bridge and then back onto the normal path where they cross the river (as they do). The one's coming into Sanctuary now come down the hill on the oppisite side of the bidge into the river and up and over the wall. But like I said I've only done area 0, have'nt touch the river or the over side of the river. Any guesses why this is?
  8. Not really a question I think I'll get an answer to but I've been leaning to do navmeshing today and I'm surprised how easy it is but my question / Problem is why is the games navmeshing so bad? I mean I think a child could have done a better job  It's no wonder the npc's walk into walls :wallbash:
  9. Sadly I deleted all my work as I thought I'd messed it all up and also cleaned my computer since ie emptied the bin  I have already watch those video's the second one today and that made me realize that I was missing a step, I hadn't archived my work only sending it to the pc and loading it. oops trust me to miss the most important bit. I've since done a small test (changed Sanctuary bridge for the pre war one) and everything worked fine, no flashing from any cell round the area. What I did before and my now plan is to tidy up Sanctuary to how I want it and if every thing go's well (this time) I will do all the Settlements aswell. I've played the game once and have started again with all the mod changes and things I've learnt to have a better game. I just don't want to use a scrap Mod this time as it really does mess the game up more than it already is but to do this because of all the crap you can't remove it mean's using the creation kit. Thank you for your advice
  10. Can anyone tell me the final steps to get it working right, what I have to do after I've made the changes?
  11. To be honest I would like to learn, no other clean up mods are as I want it.
  12. I've spent about 40 hours over the last 3 days on the Creation kit trying to learn how to clean up a settlement (Sanctuary) so that I can start the game again with it all clean so I don't have to use a scrap mod and it's pissing me off now. I've watch many youTube video's and read loads of site's and can't find what I'm missing. So I know how to, download it install it navigate open the correct file to start modding go to the cell or cell's I want to mod reopen to carry on modding remove unwanted items save it save and hotplug it to pc precombine's and previs (the 3 steps) activate the plugin turn the plugin into a mod clean with xedit build index reference info with xedit get rid of the files to start again and many other things I've tried everything all together and seperately to see what each thing does, starting the game each time to see the outcome. But it either works but everything around disappears and reappears depending where I am or nothing changes or nothing changes and some thing disappears and reappears. there must be something I'm missing? I've now noticed that other stuff is disappearing and reappearing nowhere near Sanctuary. Can someone Please help me?
  13. After much testing I've come to the conclution that CTD is down to 3 things, 1) ini file settings (And no I'm not talking about modded ini file settings even though that can be a problem but to get a game working right you HAVE TO mod, edit and TEST changes on YOUR PC.) 2) Bad mods (I'm not going in to this one as I don't want to piss anyone off.) 3) Bethesda (They are great at game idea's but crap at making game's.)
  14. Right I've left previs on and just been trying to work out what I did wrong. I've been doing just sanctuary cell 1 and 5, I've got cell 1 working with no problems but doing the same thing to cell 5 loads of things like road are disappearing and reappearing. Why is this, what am I missing?
  15. Thank you for your response. So how should that work with viewing in game? From what I understand it's there to help with loading times as well as viewing from one cell to another. As if it's not done things disappear as you walk up to a edited cell. Not having previs don't that effect your Fps?
  16. I have worked out question 1 how to do a new save but still when doing steps 2 and 3 it's doing the same area's. For example I'm in sanctuary cell 1 but when I generate visibility and PreCombined Visibility it's switching to cell 3. WTF. help
  17. Hi I was wanting to know is it possible to work on multiple cells at once? Also a question about a problem I'm having. As I said I'm new to this, started yesterday. Watched some videos and I think I have the basics to get started. I'm starting by cleaning sanctuary so the 10 cells that covers. I started at cell 5 just to see if I was doing it right them tested it in-game, first time everything was disappearing as I walked to the cell so I went back to the videos and found I'd not done the 3 steps. 1) PreCombine Geometry for current cell 2) Generate Visibility for all loaded cells 3) Generate PreCombined Visibility for all loaded cells That fixed it and everything worked smoothly so now I'm doing the rest but I have 2 questions about this. 1) how do I start a new save file? Everything is saving under the first. 2) when doing steps 2 and 3 it's covering the same areas as it did when doing cell 5, the areas are not next to cell 5. How do I fix this? Thank you for any help given.
  18. Mod Organizer 2 says 1 conflict but that's 2 parts of the same mod.
  19. HeyYou, that's what I thought something is'nt right there but from what I'm seeing ingame it's not causing any problems, the game runs no different with 80 settlers to 20 not even a drop in FPS. I have alot more space in GPU and RAM memory and even the CPU tops out at 75% in all cores and as I said before the CTD happens randomly like just now I was in Sanctury building bridges fron roof tops to give the settlers a way to get down as I can't find a mod to stop teleporting on roof tops but it did'nt CTD until I went to remove the wood roof for a better one. My point is I can be in a settlement with just 20 settlers remove a bin and CTD so even though I see your point I don't believe it's linked to the CTD problem. I don't know if I'm right but it seems to CTD more often when removing items that have been there a while, like there's a problem with removing it from script. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Fraquar, I see your logic in having a test save but I didn't start to mod the game until I was about 25% through the game and I had the same problem with CTD as I do know with mods and I have read many posts saying about CTD problems from people that have not modded there game at all. I use FO4Edit with every mod I install along with Vortex and I will try Mod Organizer 2 now and see what it comes up with. I have done a complete reinstall of Fallout 4 before (twice) and the same random CTD while building (mainly removing item's) happens if the mods are there or not so I'm led to believe it is a game problem. I will report back after trying Mod Organizer 2.
  20. Both but mainly vanilla. I've been looking into how many settlers I sould have because my charisma is at 100 for some reason (I have no mod to do this as far as I'm aware) it's just in many settlements I have over 80 settlers. Have you come across this? I don't think this is the CTD problem because it can CTD when I'm in a settlemnt with just 20 settlers.
  21. Sorry to say but that has'nt worked. As soon as I start to alter settlements or a lot is going on when settlements are attacked it CTD.
  22. well been playing for hours with no problems but I have'nt been building so i'll really see when I do. But one very big difference I have noticed is that it's using more vram, about a 2GB more. I've been trying to get it to use more with EMB for weeks as I have 8GB and it would never hit 4GB but how does turning overclock off allow for more vram to be used?
  23. ye a little but my system is stable so how would that make a difference?
  24. Ye as I though, my machine is nothing special. AMD FX 8350 @ 4.4ghz Corsair vengenge DDR3 1600mhz MSI rx 580 8gb but I will say nothing is maxing out. Ye I started with loot but know use Vortex as well. Is it worth Compressing the textures?
