Cyrodiil's soundtrack is getting shape since March. And it comes with a clash:

This same motif will be used also on other sets. It will define imperial presence.

@ guinolas: I'm checking out your Cyrodill soundtrack as I type - does sound very nice and fitting for any Skyrim content. Do I take it you're using East West products? Whichever libraries you're using, they sound sweet. FWIW: I have EW Symphonic Orchestra (Platinum), EW Symphonic Choirs, EW Pianos (Gold), Miroslav Orchestra (lovely strings!), Vienna Symphonic Library, EW Stormdrum 2, EW Goliath, EW RA, EW VoP, EW MoR - should be able to churn something out with that lot.
I'm going to get into some soundtracking myself sometime, but I'm 100% preoccupied with a somewhat major weather and lighting mod for Skyrim right now. I'll definitely keep track of your work though, it's very inspiring.
That's right! I changed my set about a month (Gold Edition) and I'm upgrading previous tracks. Before I chose EWQL, I also looked to Miroslav (IK version), but not having the KS factor was the main reason I didn't choose it.
I also acquired Ra, and ERA Medieval legends. This last one has beautiful samples, you can hear some of it working in the tavern themes.
Thank you for your kind words. I hope we can get to work together sometime.

Just listened to the first couple of audio tracks...
Although I never want to criticise others work, especially since I haven't properly ventured into composing some Skyrim-type music (hopefully my next project) I have one thought...
The violins sample used perhaps could do with variation as it seems to over-rely on expressivo strings with a heavy accent at the start - using either more legato or DXF (dynamic cross-fade) sample sets would make it sound more authentic and ironically more expressive.
Other than that, great work, I'll keep an eye out for it.
Thank you for your feedback.
Although it's Skyrim related, it was never our objective creating a faithful musical extension of it. Instead, we wanted to deliver another emotions into it, therefore the heavy accents on the strings: this is an empire falling into pieces.
You can also imagine that, after more than 2 hours of music added, some issues and details will start to become really secondary. Perhaps we'll have time for another revision.
I tried also the DXF samples from the library. They sounded a bit linear, too much "keyboard string pad", if you know what I mean, even with expression triggered. So I decided to use instead the KS version.
If you wish, there's space for more composers on other provinces too. Please, go check it out.

Putting down some numbers:
5 new sets of armors
3 unique weapons ( to be extended to 4 )
1 new weapon set of Skysteel ( to be extended whole set )
1 new weapon set of Stalhrim( to be extended whole set )
1 unique shield ( to be added some more )
several different new altered vanilla nifs ( unconted )
2 new creatures ( to be extended to 6 Including new Dragons )
1 new mount ( Shhhh secret )
2 new transport type ( one is a ship the other shhhhh )
6 new villages and towns ( one city , 3 towns and 2 villages )
Several new cutsom made meshes and structures ( Throne , Statues etc ... )
2 new ore types ( stalhrim and Fulgurite )
New Capes and cloacks ( Hide capes and fur cloacks )
several new clutter and items ( books , objects , etc )
New Forge furniture
New Landscape structures
When you speak of altered vanilla nifs, do you mean that those changes will change everything in Skyrim? Are they cosmetic or something else?
Once all this is completed I guess I can focus on ly on the quests and some random items whenever I will need ...
the completition of the list above is about like 75%
I have a choice to make ....
To implement or not the new smithing perk tree ....
I am quite unsatisfied by the approach that Bethesda took for the smithing ... and I elaborated this new perk tree ...
The choice is :
1 implement directly in Issgard as base and build on it the new weapons sets ...
2 Implement outside in an esm mod that will be needed for Issgard to be playable but allowing also use for compatibility with other mods
3 Skip totally .... ( keep the unsatisfactory and boring and undrealistic system of Skyrim ) and eventually make a patch later on with a lot of waste of work ...
IMHO, I would add another alternative:
4 Skip totally, and to create new items on a forge would need to have a book in the inventory (or something else), for example, that would unmistify the creation of new items. I've seen it on other mods, and it made sense to me. This way I guess that would free you from some headaches ;)
Prometheus, I had today an idea that I think it would be great for you to possibly add:
Dragonborn may be considered a living legend, and the common people don't have a clue about all that he/she has already done. Through the gameplay of the mod, the Dragonborn would interact with a new NPC that would introduce himself as a writer, proposing to write down the history of the Dragonborn (maybe one for each big title: Harbinger, Listener, Archmage, Dragonslayer, etc.) After the book made, it would be available to common people on general stores. This way, throughout Tamriel, his story would start to be known.
While remaining in anonymousity, there would be consequences when travelling around that would mean adding new encounters:
1- He could be confronted with groups of people that worship Dragonborn, the living legend, like he was almost a living divinity;
2- Groups of mercenaries, searching for fame, would try to hunt down Dragonborn, so they could become famous too;
3- The Justicars would pursuit a lot more Dragonborn;
4 - Penitus Oculatus soldiers would wander the landscape in search of Dragonborn;
5- Parties of people that hate magic usage would try to hunt him down.
What do you think about it?

I was just saying that it would be also nice to have a helmet that wouldn´t cover the face. But nevermind that, they look really great how they are.
Perhaps a variant openfaced with the metal eyebrows...
The one on the far left is an open-faced helmet - the head you can see inside is only temporary (I assume it's to help with proportions while modelling).
When I meant open-faced, I was thinking on something that showed all the face, without the eye protection. I know that the head inside is temporary, that is visible. Even if I had any doubt, just needed to look the right helmet to be aware of it ;)
-
I didn't understood your sugestion the one on left has already a half facemask ... but here are the Updated versions .....

Here are the other 3 variants of the Issgardan Helmet that will siden with the other Hood you have already seen ...
so In order from left to right there is the chainmail helmet , chainmail mask helmet , chainmail facemask helmet
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/6772/helmets.jpg
How about an open faced helmet, a half mask helmet (with the plate of the middle, and finally the facemask helmet?
I know you want to give people some reallistic style, but roleplaying speaking, watching the mouth of NPC's move while they speak helps creating the experience, IMHO.
The helmets look awesome, anyway!

Here there is a showcase of the several capes done so far ...
Silver , Brown , Gray , black and white ... if you suggest others perhaps I coudl consider , not sure if to keep silver and white as look quite similar ....
anyway here they are .... what you think?
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/9326/capes.jpg
Very nice, Prometheus! I'm not still sure about tje cloak being under the shoulder pauldrons, looks nice, though...
How about a cloak that would have fur only around the shoulders (like Jarl's or noble clothing) and the lenght would be only cloth? Or maybe like the cloak you did once to the heavy winter imperial armor (one of my favorites).
-
I'm not sure about chainmail gloves when using a bow, since there are no independent fingers. Is it possible?
-
Here a new Update :
All are still wip and will need the following add ons stil:
Gauntlets , gloves , helmet types , capes and fur capes , boots ...
and the medium chainmail will have a embossed frontal plates inside the chainmail ...
comments and critiques or especially sugestions are very welcome ...
Issgardean Chainmail Armor Light
Issgardean PlateChainmail Armor Medium
The armors look really good. Nice job!
I still suggest the addition of some kind of fur cape like Rexor's one from Conan movie:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gG1gEHJTLD0/Tf6Lot6c3qI/AAAAAAAAEAI/XXfv-OETTNA/s1600/rexor.jpg
Also, the gloves in the image would fit nice on the light and medium armor
-
Ok thanks ... Here Finally ! after a lot of time I managed to get that protoarmor wip in game at least now I can start fineturning textures and look ...
this wil probably be the light version unless it looks like sucking , icn wich case I will skip for medium and heavy versions only ...
I somehow get the feeling it looks like a pijama ... or not?
what is missing? what to add , fine tune or fix?
ofc shades on metal , colors and metal reflection are still in work and I want the armor to loook more dark and slightly rusted , but apart from that? be very critical please ...
I think I understand why it looks like a pijama. IMO the shoulders look like they would need something a little bulkier. I think adding fur on it should give that look. Check this mods:
-
As for the armor the possible variations toughtnare scale and laminated pieces combo armor , eventually one single version with top chest plate armor for the king..
I propose a variation with a replacement of the chainmail body garment with darkened leather, keeping the small metal plates. Something similar to this picture but longer:
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l9/kavhan/bagatur.jpg
I guess it shouldn't be very difficult, just a texture change ;)
-
Another small Update on Issgardean Guards....
I really like the mail coif.
Is this a heavy or light armor?
Something similar to the steel nord gauntlets would fit perfectly.
Nice job!

Here is how looks the Isgardean Sword ingame ....
Is not yet completed as I need to see if I will or not put a central bloodline cut into the blade to give more variance or leave it flat ....
also if to tune down all the cuts and scratches on the blade removing them or making just subtle ...
then suggestions if you do have ...
The only suggestions I have is to make an oversized pommel to the sword, and maybe a smaller grip, since it's one handed.
-
How about this WIP on Issgardian sword ? Special ones will be in Stalhrim blade ...
I like it a lot. Maybe a bigger sized pommel to make it more balanced to wield.
-
I would vote on adding fur to both versions around the shoulders. The chain sleeves look as a slim fit: I would add something that made it look bulkier.
Personally, I don´t know if they could be interpretated as heavy and light, being so similar. Maybe the sleeveless version (light) sould be all leather and still with the metal plates on torso?
I don´t know if you know about this mod (Winterscale Armor), maybe you could watch it to gather some other alternatives.
Anyway, I wish bethesda could have had half of the ideas you put on practice to create armor.
-
Before anything else, let me congratulate PROMETHEUS_ts for his effort in creating a new land. And I like to offer my services.
Although my knowledge in modding is very small, I believe I still could help someway:
1- I don´t know if you thought of a music theme for this mod, or if is any way to trigger it during gameplay, but I could try to do some orchestral theme based on the vanilla (with some variations);
2- I could try to record some voicelines. Let me just add that I have the required equipment to make some voice recordings with minimal noise interference: I have a studio-type microphone (not a top of the line, but does a good job).
I will end this post wishing best of luck, and looking forward to this add-on release.
