    I downloaded this mod found in the link above a few months ago because I was getting annoyed with random dragons greeting me after fast travelling. Yes I know fast travelling makes them appear more often, but I do not wish to hardcore RP and trek all over Skyrim just for the sake of realism. This dragon issue gets really bad especially at the Riften stables for whatever reason. It is because I hate the risk of important NPC's dying by dragon attacks that I decided to use this mod in the first place.

     

    It happened on my Xbox game where two NPC's that each gave out a daedric quest died in Falkreath. Needless to say that made me quite angry. The beauty of it is that those were the only two people that died in that town. Finishing the Oblivion Walker achievement was an impossibility. I think that's enough of my Skyrim life story. Moving on.

     

    I have four questions to ask regarding this mod I linked above:

     

    1. Will disabling/removing said mod automatically revert MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons value back to 0, or will I still need to manually enter that value in the console?

     

    2. If I need to manually enter it as well, will that change be constant from then on, or will it go back to 1 every time I hop back on because of the mod I had installed before.

     

    3. Does the mod affect all my saves of all my current and future characters? I'm 99% sure the answer is yes, but I'd like comfirmation.

     

    4. Is there a command I can type in the console that will allow me to see all of Skyrim's global values such as MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons at the time of entering said command? This would be helpful to test Question #2.

     

    EDIT: 5. Regarding the second half of Question #1... If it's true, does that mean I will then also have to reenter that global value for every new character I make? I ask because if this mod, even in its absence, permanently changed the value to 1, I would think Question #5 is true as well. I say that because I think manually entering the value to 0 only affects the character you are currently on, whereas the mod affects the entire game. That all is only assuming that my assumptions are correct.

     

    These are all of the questions that came to mind. I'm fairly sure there was another one, but it escapes me.

     

    To close off I will say that I have indeed disabled and removed the mod after a couple months of use and have also set the value to 0 myself from that MQ106 global value mentioned above. I haven't stayed in the game long to find out if it worked, but I did fast travel once to Riften stables. No dragon was found. It wasn't much of a test I admit. I just assumed that despite the lack of dragons that what I did brought back the dragon spawns (on all future saves AND characters preferably). That is my hope anyway. Anyways thank you all for your time and attention. I hope to see some answers that clear up this confusion.

  2. It's the maximum height of the first row. If the Hotkeyed list allows 20 items and Potions allows 10, then the first row will be 20 items long if you set the height to Hotkeyed. You have to remove all instances of the word Hotkeyed from the [layout] section

    That was one of the things I have done. I'm pretty sure I even mentioned that above unless I am mistaken.

  3. I seem to be having troubles configuring the CFM for Skyrim. There doesn't even seem to be a clear-cut tutorial for this mod, rather it appears the devs expect me to know how to work the config files on my own. I understand the absolute basics, and have resized the menu as well as relocated it, but it gets weird when I try to do anything more. I will post a pic(s) showing this. I'll copy and paste anything I think is important from my cfg file onto here as well. Basically, I'm trying to get rid of my Hotkeyed column to make my menu more compact. Whenever I try to disable it, the background turns into a black strip at the top of the screen, and the bottom columns are at the bottom of the screen which is in the pic(s). I have tried deleting "Hotkeyed" from row1, disabling it from the lists section of the config file, and both at the same time. They produce the same result.

    menu_base_x = 7 (these x and y values are different in my overrides.cfg file just to point out. I just left them default since there'd be no point in changing them)

  4. Although a Dunmer might find reason to join the stormcloaks, it is not likely he would be allowed to. If somehow he were given entry, I think racist remarks would be the least of the attacks from his "comrades." Best case scenario, he is sent out on a suicide mission in order to avoid the loss of a True Nord for the task.

    Hmm. You do have a good point. Perhaps my character could join the Imperials to spite the Stormcloaks rejecting him or trying to kill him off in a hypothetical roleplaying sense. I could just say that against all odds and with his badassery, he was able to pass Ulfric's tests, but that might be too convenient. Respect isn't something my character seeks from the Stormcloaks anyways. He likes to look at the bigger picture. This is something I'll have to think more about.

  5. Before you say anything, I know this kind of thing has been discussed to hell and back, but I haven't really seen yet someone argue what I am about to argue in favor for siding with Stormcloaks as a Dunmer. For the sake of nothing but good fun, I want to share my justification with you all for possibly siding with them as that race. Keep in mind that all of this is purely for roleplaying purposes.

     

    As a Dunmer, I will be playing as a vampire nightblade which is basically a mage assassin. He will also be leaning towards the evil side and will be intellectual and tactical, skills needed to be an effective assassin. Being familiar with much of Tamriel's history and the current happenings, he would be knowledgable of each side's stance in the war and how those sides affect eachother. Being the closet Mer supremacist that he is, he by default favors his own kind. He just doesn't show it as much to spare feelings and unnecessary conflict, albeit a trivial thing to do in his eyes. Knowing very well Thalmor's hopes of using the Stormcloaks to drive out the Empire (reference the dossier about Ulfric Stormcloak), he would more than happily guise as an ally of Ulfric's, constantly tolerating numerous racist remarks of course. This decision would also be driven by the fact he is sympathetic for the poor state the Dunmer are in in Windhelm as well as his grudge against the Imperials for wrongly attempting to executing him. While he would much prefer the land to be taken over by only Dunmer, he would much rather have all Mer's than any man. This goes without saying that even if it means the snob Altmer take over, although my character wouldn't be on good terms with them.

     

    Well.. There you have it. This post serves absolutely nothing other than to have a good ol' conversation :P. What do you guys think? Does it seem justified?
