Here is my attached load order. I admit I am not a load order expert, but I do try and a guide as best I can. My game version is the updated one (v1.10.984.0.0). I started a new game on the off chance that my game was corrupt, as it was a save that I downloaded. The mod in question Echoes from the Midwest Metal Armor. I read everything I could find on the mod page and didn't see where others were having my specific issue. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated. LoadOrder_Fallout4_2024-12-18T12-22-04.txt

So I am in the process of troubleshooting. My question now deals specifically with the game freezes. Is it possible that a specific armor mod is causing the freeze? The reason I am asking, the times my game freezes up on me always seems to be when my character or a follower is wearing the armor from that specific mod. I don't know if there is any problem with the mod itself, but for whatever reason my game and/or PC doesn't seem to like it.

Hoping Someone Here Can Help Me.

Thanks everyone. I am going to try as much as I can to download files again. If I have all the proper files with a mod and I can get them into the proper folders in my game directory, is that basically just the same as installing manually if I have all the .esp, .esl and .ba2 files? -
Hoping Someone Here Can Help Me.

Hmm, okay. I might have to try and wing it. As my computer is also used for my work, I can't have both the old and the new in the shop at the same time. I do have an external HD reader, so I will have access to the files at least. Many of them are just texture files so I may be okay anyway. The other thing, I haven't been able to play Fallout 4 for months because the last Windows 10 update made it so Fallout wasn't recognizing my mods as installed. My Load Game button was greyed out along with my Mods button. So a fresh install of everything might be in my best interest anyway. Thanks for the reply though. -
In the next week or so I am getting a new PC. My issue is I have had this computer basically since FO4 was released. Many of my mods are loaded into my game and I no longer have zip files for them. Some were mods I got of of Patreon, some have been removed from the Nexus site. In short, I can't reinstall the mod the same way I did initially. How do I go about keeping everything I have on my current PC and moving it to my new one once I have it? I am guessing it's not as simple as a cut and paste of the old folders onto my new PC, or is it? This is a little out of my PC knowledge and any help will be greatly appreciated.

I watched it too recently for the first time. It is great. Honestly, it even made me like characters I previously could not stand getting to know the people behind them. i should add that they are not just talented, but they all seem like great people.

Bit the bullet and found the problem mod. Reinstalled it and the bench crash seems eliminated. Now just have to wait and see how stable my current config is.
-
Whatever my problem was before I compounded it. My biggest problem is now a mod conflict as in a fresh, new game I crash every time I access a work bench. I have never had to troubleshoot this situation before. Is the only way to do it deactivate all my mods and then go a small group at a time? Is there a feature in FO4Edit that points to bad mods?
-
Have u tried turning off anti virus during play? Thats what helped me on my previous computer. Also disconnect from internet I will give those a shot. BTW, anything look problematic with the load order?
-
Just had another one. This time screen locked followed by CTD. Was trying to access a work bench. So the crash doesn't seem to be linked to any one activity on a consistent basis. Guess I will try lowering settings next.
-
No, not generally. The last crash was shortly after leaving a vendor store added by a mod. That mod is now uninstalled and I started a new game. The crash prior I believe I was travelling through the wasteland using a companion I got as a mod. That too was removed and a new game started. I have noticed an issue though that I am wondering if is some how connected. That is, I will be playing my game and all of a sudden the game minimizes without me pushing any buttons to make it do so.

I have removed several mods that could potentially be causing issues in my setup/configuration. I am getting very particular about any adding or removing of mods in between play throughs, so that if any thing gets added or removed I always start a new game. Likewise, I don't adjust my load order in the middle of a play through - it's always after I finish with one and before I start a new one. Still my crashes seem to be increasing in frequency. Could someone please take a look at my load order and see if they see any glaring issues that I could be having but am not seeing myself. Thank you so much.

Thank you. I have not ever had the AFT issue you have mentioned. But I am sure there are features I have never used. By the way, what you say about it only matters if it conflicts, is that true for any mod?
-
Thanks. I didn't see anything in the description or in the comments. I kind of figured if it was really important the person who made the mod would mention it. And what you say makes sense. I do have Amazing Follower Tweaks. If I remember correctly that one says put it on the end/bottom. The only change I have made to a non settlement area is using AFT to set up my camp. Not sure that really constitutes a change that you are speaking of. If so, I should be able to get away with placing it right before AFT in my order wouldn't you think? Thanks again for the reply.

Where should a mod that allows the user to build a brand new settlement on the map (including work bench) be placed? Thank you.

Could Use Help with A Mod
ChinchillaFlats replied to ChinchillaFlats's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
just a follow up in case anyone has the same issue. setting the ear type to average 1 gave me a reasonable looking ear that the earrings fit to. -
I am using HN66s Plain Earrings mod. My issue is that I have a customized face/body so the earrings aren't fitting just right. My question, is there an easy way to get back to the default vanilla ears without eyeballing it or changing the rest of my presets? A way that also allows me to adjust companions as well? Thanks.

I think I figure out how I messed it all up. I picked up the Boston After Dark dead drop on my way past to the Institute so when I didn't meet Stockton it failed the quest. I am not too worried, I use a bat file for the ballistic weave so I have that before I get to the RR HQ anyway and I am not particularly fond of the RR quests anyway except for the weave. Also I did figure out that I can still do RR radiant quests. So on my next go around I will just be more careful. Off hand do you know how I would go about using the console to give myself the one after Boston After Dark? I believe it's Ticonderoga.

It worked great, the Institute is no more. I am now a Sentinel. R4-04/Mara doesn't hate me. I can still come and go from the RR. Only thing is Dez won't talk at all. Not sure if that will change if I try some RR quests. Also don't have to worry so much about Minute Men. That is until I figure out what I am going to do with Nuka World XD
