  1. Why the f*#@ did Vortex uninstall all of my mods when I deleted the COPIES of the ARCHIVES in its stupid staging folder to free up diskspace? What is the reason, that Vortex needs all of the f*#@ing mods TWO times? Installed and uninstalled? Why? Why the f*#@? It was 50 gb of mods just sitting there, eating up space and with them gone (and I did that with older versions of Vortex just fine) the f*#@ing Launcher decides to just UNINSTALL every mod, but since I deleted the COPIES in the staging folder I SOMEHOW CAN'T REINSTALL ALL OF THEM? Why? What's the reason for that? Why is that necessary? Someone explain to me, why deleting 50 gb of redundancy utterly destroyed and f*#@ed up my playthrough of 720 hours?
  2. Oh. f*#@ it. Now I understood, did what you suggested and found my save games. Thanks a bunch mate and sorry for me being dense.
  3. Sorry, but I can't follow you at all. What directory do you mean? There's no userdate folder in any steam directory or on steam I can find and as I said, my save games are where they're supposed to be under C:/User/[Username]/Documents/MyGames/Fallout4/Saves All present and accounted for. Neither Vortex nor FO4 seem to realize it though. But I really don't know what you mean in the first place, sry ^^
  4. The mod manager updated its game extensions after I was playing FO4 the last time. Now I wanted to resume my playthrough (maybe a two day gap between those sessions) and Vortex doesn't read my save folder anymore. When I start the game, I can only start a new game, not load any saves. When I use the "Save Games" tab in Vortex, it doesn't show any savegames. When I click on "Open Save Games" it opens the regular FO4 save game folder and all of my saves are still there. There doesn't seem to be any FO4 extensions running in Vortex, when I check the extensions tab it only shows BGIII (don't even have that game), Ready Or Not and Unreal Engine Mod Installer. Nothing FO4 related. Please help. I don't want to lose all of my progress yet again. Edit: Oh, and I'm not using profiles.
  5. I did, yes. I do yes. The problem is academical, now, by the way. I decided to just suck it up and accept that I f*#@ed a very nice and fun playthrough up (again) and delete every mod (one by one and by hand), uninstalled the game, deleted the game folder (it was already gone), deleted the saves, reinstalled the game, reinstalled all mods, and now, when I'm healed, emotionally, I'll begin anew ^^ Thanks for the suggestions and your time. This time I won't change my load order at all, no new mods mid playthrough and I'll keep even more backups.
  6. It must have something to with the fact, that the game suddenly informs me about using mods, even though the mods were installed from the beginning. Somehow Fallout thinks that's something new and now it's not allowing me to load ANY save, not even the ones HOURS before I tried the character overhauls. I tried starting a new game and in that instance it froze upon loading the wasteland for the first time.
  7. I'll try what you sugested. I'm keeping a couple of saves, always, since I nuked my game the last time (also a multiple hundred hours save. that time I didn't change any mods though, just stopped working). I already changed my load order back to the way it was before I tried those character overhauls though and I didn't have any of those weapons I removed in my inventory anywhere, since I don't use them and just had them for RP purposes in my game. Edit: Also, running FallRimTools over one of the saves it told me there are no rullrefs in the Formlists.
  8. So, curious problem. After finishing the Outcast and Remnants Main questline I saved my couple hundreds hours long playthrough inside the BoG bunker and closed the game. During the following day I was in the mood to try out a couple of mods to change the appearance of a few NPCs, the "Synthetic Overhaul" line of mods to be exact. Those for Danse, Old Longfellow, the BoS characters on the Prydwen, Preston and MacCready. That meant installing all of the required mods for them as well. To do that I had to take out a couple of weapon mods, mostly mods by Pig, his Assault Weapons pack, the one with the anti material rifle, the heavy weapons combo deal (jury rigged tesla cannon and plasma caster) and I had to disable another overhaul for Elder Maxson, since two overhauls probably wouldn't work. Installed them, cleaned up the load order, made a new bashed patch, started the game. Tried to load the save and the game tells me "Mods are currently loaded. Achievements will be disabled", even though I've been playing with mods the whole time. And then the game CTDs after loading. Or during loading, I'm unsure, since I don't see the actual game. Loading screen for a couple of minutes -> CTD. Even after uninstalling the character overhauls and the required mods again and restoring my old load order it does that. Anyone any idea what I f***ed up? Edit.: So, after deleting all of the .ini files and validating the game files via steam, I've managed to at least get to see the game proper again. So the savegame loads, but it still CTDs after about 3 seconds. Yay, progress >_>
  9. Hey there, maybe someone has an idea what's going on in my game. I've been playing this save for months now and hadn't had any problems beside the usual CTDs or glitches you just get if you run over 200 mods. But, after playing for a few hours two days back, with not a single CTD, saving in Starlight Drive-In (build a big base there, 20 settlers, a bit over build limit, never had any problems except for fps drops), I can't use that save anymore. I haven't installed any new mods, haven't removed any mods, there were no updates, NOTHING. But when I load the save, my game CTDs after roughly 48 seconds. It doesn't matter if I'm in game, if I'm in the pause menu, if the game is loading a new area (tried fast travel to the institute) or if I'm leaving Starlight Drive-In as fast as possible, if I'm sleeping in a bed or just stand around doing nothing. If I load my save, play a few seconds and do another save, then load THAT save, the CTD happens sooner after loading. So my guess would be, that it's something on the backend of Fallout 4, as it's a fixed time after my original save and it happens even if I'm in the pause menu. Any Ideas? Haven't posted load order or system specs as it didn't matter for the last 18 days of pure playtime, so... Edit: New game with the same load order doesn't have any problems. Edit 2: If I load said save and directly quit back to the main menue, the game still crashes after roughly 48 seconds.
  10. The one where you're fighting for that Ghoul in Concord. The one who lured you into his base by placing a little girl in front of his building asking for help and then he captured you to sell you as a slave. He keeps insisting, that he's only selling raiders as slaves, don't know why he's luring in travelers with a little girl asking for help then.... I think it's called Depravity. EDIT: Maybe it's Outcast & Remnants. It's one of those two in any case.
  11. All very nice ideas, but I'd like to throw in something else: Witchhunters. There is already a conversion of the Jesters Hat into a Witchhunters Hat straight out of Altdorf, but there is nothing even remotely resembling a Witchhunters coat/armor. It would be all ways of awesome if someone could build one.
