  1. Hey, sorry for the dumb question, but I've got a problem with Vortex and Dragon Age Origins. The majority of the mods I've downloaded and installed just don't show up or work in the game. Some mods work, others don't, and when I uninstalled them all and then reinstalled them... Boom, now even more of then don't show up. I uninstalled Vortex, reinstalled all the mods, even uninstalled DA:O, and still no fix. It is really disheartening because some of the mods I grabbed are awesome, and I'm pretty sad that I can't get them to work.
That being said, I ALSO tried using the NMM, and that didn't work either. Could it be that I'm using the Origin (I know, I know, EA is evil, but I went to play Dungeon Keeper for the first time in five years and found that ALL DRAGON AGE GAMES + ALL DLC HAD BEEN ADDED TO MY ACCOUNT FOR FREE) version? Any help would be adored.

  2. He wrote a really long, really whiny rant on reddit about how "Drumpf fans" don't get to play his mods, or something along those lines, and because he thinks it is possible some """nazi""" (read: People he doesn't like, by the tone of his post on reddit) played his mod, that made him decide to take them down to prevent more """nazis""" from enjoying them. He also, apparently demanded someone make a political statement on reddit in return for his mods returning. When the person refused (Because Appolodown straight up called him a nazi for disagreeing with him), he refused to put the mods back up. I can't prove that that is true - Just screenshots of the back and forth exist, but the tone of his post saying why he removed the mods, and the writing cadence seem to show that he wrote them both.

This is foolish, because, as the whole Monetized Mods on Steam backlash showed, people can just pirate the mods. I'm not saying anyone should do that, people should respect modder's wishes, but... If he thinks he's going to prevent the """nazis""" from playing his mods, he's mistaken.

I just wish people would stop with the drama over politics. Personally, I think he just didn't want to do maintenance on the mods anymore, and is using "Drumpf" and "Natzees" as an excuse.

  3. This is what is known as a Hard limit - that means there is no software 'fix' that can be implemented. If you are interested, I can give you the long explanation - it involves binary arithmetic, computer word size and how registers actually store data in hex and binary form. Geek stuff.

Very oversimplified - 255 in binary is 1111 1111 add one to that and you get 0000 0000 or zero because there is no more room in that register for another 1 ( it carries the 1 to the next space - which does not exist) basic binary arithmetic 0+0=0, 1+0=1, 1+1=0, (carry the 1 making it 10 (10 is binary for what you would call two) - but ONLY if there is a place (register) to put that 1. Otherwise =0

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary, and those that don't

Stick with keeping your mods under the limit. Use one of the merging methods to merge where possible ( not all mods can be merged) Sometimes, based on other considerations, it won't even be able to work with 255 or even 200.

Hopefully (low probability) the next Beth game will be 64 bit and allow a bigger word size and more mods. The next step up from 255 is hex FF,FF or binary 1111111111111111 or in decimal 65,535 - do you think that will be enough mods for your game? :woot:

I'm really... Really, really sorry to Necro a thread - I honestly hate doing that, but...

Skyrim:SE is 64 bit... Does that mean that the mod limit is 65,535?

If so... man. Thanks for predicting the future.

EDIT: I see someone already neco'd it. Hah. >_> Sorry.

  4. Sorry if this isn't in the right place, or if I'm breaking a rule that I forgot to remember, but I've spent a few days now looking for a certian type of mod that, as far as I can tell, doesn't exist on the Nexus. Obviously there are a hell of a lot of mods for screenshots, many of them are sexy pinup female mods, or overly dramatic mods that don't fit my character, sadly. I'm looking for a mod that has... Simple, not overly melodramatic and OH MY GOD HE'S FLYING IN THE AIR TO DELIVER A KILLING BLOW WITH HIS GREAT SWORD AND WEARING HEAVY ARMOR!, YET IS SOMEHOW 40+ FEET IN THE AIR!!!!!1!!!!!ONE!!!! (Besides, most of those tend to be for female characters, so they are useless for what I want to do. (Male Argonian Follower, eventually will be custom voiced, if I can learn how to do it. =) )

Anyway. The kind of poses I'm looking for are, basically, these two.

    And

I just really, really, REALLY want to have some cool screenshots I can upload for my friends to see, for making a mod, and, for Role playing on a couple of forums I know. (Taking a screenshot of a dully idle character or a character using vanilla animations doesn't have the same effect, sadly.)

Any help would be adored. Again, sorry if I posted this in the wrong area, or broke a rule I didn't know about.
