  1. Definitely laptop. I'm on the move too much for a desktop gaming machine.
  2. Where would I go about guying a Sandy Bridge build, or perhaps just a good casing?
  3. I am looking in to an Asus G51JX-X2 right now. It's the older model, but with upgraded internal parts like the i7-720QM, and the Nvidia GTS 360M. I'll look in to a build your own though, see how that works. Thanks guys
  4. I'm in the US, I want to spend at most $1200, no reusable parts, and preferably pre-built, seeing as I don't have much expertise in building computers.
  5. I appreciate these answers, still looking for a couple more
  6. I'm not buying it for regular oblivion, I'm buying it for games to come, and Oblivion with very high end graphics mods. Hence, the question asked above. I do thank you for your feedback, however.
  7. Hey all, I just had a question. If you run any big name graphics enhancing mods on your Oblivion game without any lag, what are your computer's specifications? I ask because I want to buy a new computer. I'm looking at one that has a 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Quad-Core i720QM 1.6Hz, and a Nvidia GTS 360M with 1gb dedicated video memory. Just wondering if this could run big name texture packs, visual enhancers, etc. Thanks!
  8. Yeahhhhhhh I decided I'd find a way to do it myself. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay procrastination..
  9. I know what you're thinking, "They take after the roman empire's soldiers, they didn't have pants, so niether should the Legion", Well yeah, but the roman's weren't subject to random Sandstorms and CONSTANT need for protection. Legion soldiers are living in a nationwide desert, they need some sort of armor for their legs to keep them in fighting shape. Here's my peeve. The legion armor from the waist up looks terrific. I LOVE it. However, I do not see shorts as an ample means of leg protection. Granted that it may work well for explorer's, the common foot soldier, veterans, Vexillari, Centurions, Decanus, and anything else wielding a machete on the frontlines needs as much as it can get. I have absolutely no modeling skill whatsoever. So here's my idea, why not cut the pants from varied Merc clothing and/or armors, shorten the kilts on the armor's to about just below buttox length, and slap those comfy pantolones on the armor? A retexture here and there, and you've got some decent looking, and practical, armor. Here's how I see it. Explorer = Fine as-is. Decanus (Veteran and Recruit) = Merc medic pants. They seem to be pretty violent-like, a blood splatter will do them good. Recruit = Grunt pants Veteran's = Cruiser (Veteran armor looks the nicest imo, and the long, flared, black, and chain pants give off an experienced vibe) Centurion = Metal legs (do I need to explain, metal galore for these guys :o) Praetorian = Fine as-is (They need more mobility for their hand-to-hand combat prowess) I also personally feel that some of the armor could do with some long sleeves, but that's a story for another time :) If I left anything out, please tell me. I hope other's feel the same way that I do. Maybe I can get the ball rolling on this thing c:
  10. I am using Fallout Stutter Remover, as well as Purge Cell Buffers, I know that there will always be lag in some places, but my PC is above the minimum spec required. My graphics card definitely isn't the best... But I should be able to at least walk from Megaton to Tenpenny without it chopping like a logger. Plus I figure that I need a new laptop anyway, its starting to break off pieces near the fan, and its burning out from the inside... I might as well ask you guys what you recommend ^_^; My specs are this: ------------------------------ Windows Vista x64 bit Home Premium (theres one problem >_>) 4GB RAM ATI Radeon mobile 3200 graphics card AMD Turion x2 Processor The only thing I know about the laptop I want is that I want it to have an 8GB RAM, about 1000GB Hard drive, and be able to handle games on the Very High setting with as little lag as possible. I don't know what graphics card would be good. And yes, Window 7 will be a must >_< Vista is one of my main problems... but yeah, if any of you know of a laptop with that an 8GB RAM, a large hard drive, and if you can recommend one with a good graphics card, or just a graphics card in general, as well as a good processor, I'd be very grateful ^_^
  11. I was thinking about hopefully saving up for a new computer. I was wondering what specs I'd need to play Fallout 3, (and other games, but Fallout is the most demanding) on max setting, with as little lag as possible (IF that's even possible). Really, all I need to know is what RAM, Processor, Sound card, and Graphics card I would need for that to be peachy. I was thinking a Geforce GT220 would work, but then I don't know. Oh, and I also need to know if this is possible on a... erm... Laptop... Thanks ahead guys.\ ~Ns9 http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu295/omgitsns9/B.jpg
  12. Yeah, I can see why some would think that, but then again, verti-birds that drop nukes on you, isn't that a tad overpowered? Plus it would only affect machine type enemies and arial vehicles. So it's not like you could lock on to a bloatfly from across the map. Not to mention it would take at least 3 seconds of keeping your marker on the object to lock on sufficiently :P
  13. I was wondering, in some FPS, they have rocket launchers which can target moving vehicles and mounted objects and pretty much blow them to hell and back. I got to wondering, vertibirds are pretty dangerous, especialyy the ones which drop nukes. On one certain occasion, I was walking past the Talon Outpost in D.C. near the library. I was lucky enough to walk under a buildings walkway cover extension, when I heard a *BOOM*. I looked around, then up, a mushroom cloud right where I was, just about 20 feet higher and on the building. I want to be able to, if lucky enough to hear one, pull out a missile launcher, target, and blow it up before it even gets at the appropriate elevation to even consider bombing me. Then I thought bigger, what if it could target other mechanical things to? Say robots, turrets, and maybe even other missiles? Just something to think about. If I didn't explain it right, or if I made it confusing, here are the details. Missiles can lock on to certain objects and target them -Vertibirds -Robots -Turrets -other Missiles and Explosive projectiles? They can do so by holding down the aim button and then when you hear the *beepbeepbeepbeep* you click and watch the fireworks. I doubt it can happen, but you gota hope, right? Think it's possible?
  14. I need to know if there is a mod which can make you move slower depending on the weight of the armor you are wearing, despite being a mod armor or not. I played with fook 2 for a while, which seemed to do just that, but I ragequit it due to frequent crashes. Now I seem to be running faster than f**king deathclaws. Immersion canceled >_< What I'm getting at, is that I've searched the nexus for a day now and no luck, can anyone refer me to one that does what I described?
  15. Hey, I have at one time had Fallout 3 and Oblivion both installed on my laptop. On Oblivion, I could have Oblivion on the HIGHEST graphics setting with minimal tweaking. I had a multitude of mods installed, quite a few of them being hi-rez texture packs, and other graphics boosts. Now this weekend I reinstalled Fallout 3. My dilemma, I can only have Fallout 3 on the low setting without lagging. Medium has a bit of lag, high has moderate lag, and Ultra High has unbearable lag. I don't know why, as far as I can tell, the requirements for Fallout and Oblivion are relatively the same. Here are my specs HP Pavilion Laptop Windows Vista Home-Premium 64-bit 4Gb RAM 222Gb Harddrive AMD Turion X2 Dual Core Mobile RM 70 - 2.00 GHz Processor ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics Card Should this be enough to run Fallout on at least high setting with little to no lag or is this not even close?
  16. I just made my own after a tragic fight with laziness. made em tougher, with there level offset 10-12 for regular bamdits, 14-16 with highwaymen, and 25 for Bandit bosses if anyone wants a link, here it is. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30860
  17. Ah, but the problem is that I cannot find any :o
