  1. You were right, it was tag blocks, I was unfamiliar with this feature so I hadn't checked it previously. I had a whole bunch of tags blocked by default for some reason, I unblocked all of them and now I'm seeing all of the mods, turns out I was blocking practically 50% of the mod content on the site. Thanks Thandal
  2. I tried my best to find if this has been addressed in the forums, so I apologize if this has been gone over. I was browsing the nexus for Skyrim mods after recently picking the game up again. I've come to face a problem with the site where I can't find a lot of hugely popular mods browsing the site regular. For example Immersive Armors, the most endorsed armor mod of all time, can't be found with the search function, browsing armor category or looking at the top mods of all time. But if I google it I find the mod page instantly and I am able to download it. I've more recently noticed this with Aetherium Armor and Weapons, and Space Wikings Dwemer Exoskeleton, could only be found on the site by googling them. I know there's probably a lot of favorite mods I've forgotten about and can't remember the names of, so why aren't these mods to be found under their categories, why can't I find all these mods browsing the site by its own means and can only find them with google?
  3. Since of how easy dsfix makes it to retexture stuff, I have been spending a lot of time working on all sorts of custom armor and weapons. I've got a good grasp on how to recolor and clean up the existing textures. But I dont understand the more advanced texturing, like when someone creates a texture that seems to completely change the surfaces of armor and weapons. For example the balder shield has the tree-like crest/emblem on the front of it. In-game it appears raised up off the shields surface. Looking at some retextures on the nexus, people have iven it a flat surface or designed their own emblems that seem to pop off the shield's surface. I understand each model has a texture consisting of three parts: the image with all the fine details and color, the same image in greyscale, and then a bright purple image mapping out the topography of the texture, giving the fine details more dimension on the models surfaces in-game. It's that last part I don't understand. Can anyone educate me a bit on what exactly this type of texture is and how they're created, or at least point me in the direction of where I can learn? I apologize for my noobness.
  4. Indeed. I really want to see some chaos armor mods!
  5. The helmets worn by Thranduil's soldiers in The Hobbit looked awesome. It's incredible how some of the greatest costume designs in the hobbit/lotr movies often get such little screen time, isn't it? Unfortunately the best picture I could find were these http://media.tumblr.com/5366a5fa8f9d78338455d53b75c2553a/tumblr_inline_mgacl4vdrQ1qjk5lq.gif ^The dude in the bottom left corner is what I'm talking about. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tWLXk8h0fXU/UQU8jCYzavI/AAAAAAAABfo/blcPImT28Ec/s640/thranduil.jpg Because those pictures are so small, I've done a really quick sketch so you can have a better look at the basic design of the helmet. It's a bit off but it gets the idea across.
  6. That's a good idea, but unfortunately I've already saved over my oldest save for this particular character, and loading that save would have likely reset nearly a days worth of playing, which I'm not sure I would find worthwhile. If the quest isn't doable I can always exploit the frozen worshipers at peryite's shrine, it's a tedious method, but way more effective than just clearing dungeons with a bow. Gosh darn you Bethesda.
  7. If I ask Penarus Inventus for training he just says the usual "I'm willing to teach, if you're willing to learn" and pops up the training menu even though there is nothing more he can teach me. I'll try to find Reman Broder in the right place to see if he offers the quest. Otherwise, I'll have to assume this is a bug in the game, or more likely Alawen died and I'll just have to master the skill the old fashioned way. Thanks for the info!
  8. I don't think this is a technical issue, I'm probably just doing something wrong. Neither Pinarus Inventius or Reman Broder will offer me the quest for mastering marksman(Reman wouldn't offer me training in the first place). My marskman skill is 70, I have their dispositions maxed out, I've already gotten an Elven bow to give to Alawen. Earlier, before haveing the prerequisites, I found Alawen at her camp where she refused to speak to me and went off to hunt, as expected. Since then I have not been able to find her at Troll Candle Camp, at any day or any time, to see if I could skip over Inventius or Broder giving me the quest. Is there something I'm missing? Did Alawen mysteriously die? Or does my game just hate me? I'm playing this character on xbox, if that matters.
  9. These are very similar to the seekers from the dragonborn DLC. Maybe someone could make them a playable race or someone could create a race with a normal body and just a modified head mesh taken from the seeker. Sounds messy and would likely have a lot of clipping, but its a thought.
  10. Here is a rough outline for a idea I thought would be cool for a new faction and questline crossing lore from Warhammer with that of Elder scrolls. http://1-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/tg/image/1360/15/1360154124716.jpg "Dismantle the false gods! Dethrone the feeble princes! Death to the Daedra and Divine alike!" A Warp rift has mysteriously formed over Tamriel giving rise to the worship of the goods of chaos, Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeetnch, Slaanesh. The chaos gods beckon warriors from all across Skyrim offering great, unmatchable power in exchange for the strengthening of their influence through out the land. Become a chaos cultist and complete varying tasks in devotion to the gods. http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080329145656/warhammeronline/images/8/89/Chosen_concept_art.jpg -craft Chaos armor and weapons, living armor hungry for carnage, richly adorned with sister chains, spikes, and chaotic icons. Made from ebony, dragon scales and daemon flesh. -raid temples of the divines and desecrate daedric shrines -wage battles with imperial legions daemon hunters who hope to supress the heretics -partake in covert ops, unleashing plague flies, contaminating food and water reserves of the enemy. -quest for magical artifacts and preform rituals to gain knowledge and power from the lord of change -Blood for the blood god! Collect skulls for the skull throne! :D With enough skulls make an offering and summon a blood thirster of Khorne into battle. Advance through the new "Champion of Chaos" perk tree. Point are gained in completing cultist quests. Advancement unlocks unique abilities and also progressively alters your appearance, skin becoming pale, eyes glow, and horns grow. Perks include the powers to summon lesser daemons, temporarily boost health and melee damage, escape into warp rifts (acts as fast traveling out of any situation or location), and banish enemies to the warp. The final ability is to transform into a Daemon prince. A daemon prince works much like a Vampire lord, but lesser cumber-sum to play as, with looting enabled but less abilities. As this mighty Daemon warrior you wield a very power daemon sword in one hand and in the other a spell that casts warp energy that turns enemies into wretched spawn that will attack its companions or simply perish. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EECheFzul9w/UJFJnNeDI8I/AAAAAAAACX8/7On44OHUAx4/s1600/diesiciete.jpg And that is the most I've come up with. I hope you like at least some of these ideas, might not be so interesting if you're not a warhammer fan. I feel everything described is somewhat doable but would be a ridiculous amount of work. If any of you talented modders even consider this you have my praise. Regardless, I implore anyone who views this to share your thoughts and opinions. Thanks!
  11. I'm very new to modding, I'm sort of learning as go in a custom armor mod im working on. My plan is to create custom meshes over an existing vanilla armor to simplify things. I've been importing the .nif's into the old version of blender, saving the pieces as .blends and working on them blender 2.6. For some stupid reason a created my custom helmet, the most frustrating experience of my life, in its own scene instead of opening the vanilla hood that I plan on attaching it to and making it there. I understand linking objects and how I'm not able to edit them. Is there anything I can do that I can link my custom mesh and be able to edit, or perhaps an alternative solution that doesn't involve the link function? I really do not want to have to make that helmet again. Another, minor, issue: How do I show the outliner/preferences windows so that they are minimized to the right side of my 3D veiw, like how its displayed when you open blender? I apologize if I'm disgustingly noob-ish.
  12. I'm desperately desiring a well done set of Easterling Armor worn my the warriors of Rhûn from The Lord of the Rings universe. They're arguably the coolest, most well adorned evil minions in the movie though they don't get much action in the film. A full armory would be cool, but I'm primarily concerned with the armor. Even if not a big LotR fan, I'd assume most would agree this armor is moderately cool to totally awesome. I feel this set would be the perfect balance of being both exotic and lore friendly, making a superb addition to skyrim. Anyway, this would be quite the task, having to be made from scratch to look right, so those skillful and willing are more than welcome. I'll be eternally grateful! Also, anyone, please share your opinions! http://www.wetanz.com/assets/Uploads/lotreasterlinglrg2.jpg http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/members/1/248/247716/thumb_620x2000/Easterling.jpg http://files.myopera.com/Redgriffin/albums/74863/easterling-warrior-001.jpg If pictures somehow aren't enough.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waYb6bXhZhg
  13. Thanks I found him, but you can't talk to him, I wanted to buy the upgrades for Breezehome, idk why I hadn't done that already.
  14. Where can I find Proventus Avenicci after Whiterun is taken over by the Gray- Mane's when you join the Stormcloaks?
