having programs is kinda worthless unless you spend the time to learn how to use them. Just learn how to use blender and you will have a good idea how to make armor. All the resources to learn are found by googling blender tutorials. No one here is going to walk you through how to actually use any complex program like blender to complete a model when there are already resources to learn from, written by people who are in all likely hood more competent artists than 99% of all the modellers active in this mod scene, myself included. once you can model a bit and have made a model, UVed it, and textured it, then come back to visit the specific tutorials for oblivion/F3, then you will learn how to set up and export your assets so they work in the game. I wouldn't worry about getting things in game until you have developed some skills, just concentrate on practicing and learning as many modelling techniques as you can. Well basically what I want to do is just retexture some armor, I don't want to change the way it looks exactly, maybe down the road I could mix and match . It doesn't take a genus to know that you have to learn how to use said programs, but saying I want to retexture/color armor and want a direction to be pointed into with what I need to accomplish this would be nice, what programs I actually need etc. ive tried to dds converter and its giving me a hard time and wont let me convert to another file type, im gonna guess my problem is with the file I was using was a combat armor dds file from some random mod ( practice run) I guess when I have more time ill just have to see what I can find on the matter. Being vague and making offhand remarks is unhelpful. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to mod, just patience and some time to familiarize yourself with the tools you need to use. Perhaps I might be better off asking someone that has actually popped out with an armor armor retexture , then armor modding or creation.
