  1. Seriously find an Alternative. I found myself in the same boat last week. Just crashed and refused to work again after simply uninstalling a texture mod. After losing 2 weeks spent modding it was the straw that broken the camels back for me.

Tried out Vortex. It's already by far superior.

Try it or move to mod manager 2, and thank me later.

  2. Great, thanks for the fast and clear response.

Wrye bash does not complain about the Notice board.esp and it's listed as form 44 in sseedit.

I guess I was confused if esp needed to be selected.

So I have definitely tried this and it causes the notice boards to not appear, there are no meshes in the "Notice Board - Open cities skyrim" part of the mod I need to update

    .. wierd.

  3. After recently hitting an issue with the latest Wrye bash bashed patches causing the game not to process the main screen correctly and finding it's due to form 43 mods. I went about converting the ones I had to form 44.

It all seemed to be going fine, and Wrye bash stopped complaining about the wrong form, game started booting correctly again and I thought all was well until I got to the....

    Notice board -open cities patch.esp

Converted it in the CK as normal and then fired up the game only to find the notice boards were gone....

Looking around I don't see any really clear tutorials on this process and now I wonder if I have been doing it wrong all along, and this is just the first time I have noticed a broken mod.

Particularly concerned about the skytest animal tweaks and Re-balanced encounter zones.esp.

When loading it seems you must set the esp, to convert to 44 as the active file and also select all parent masters, load, then click save. This is where I get confused. For example: "notice board - open cities" stated parent masters are:

    Open Cities Skyrim.esp

    Skyrim.esm

    Update.esp

    Notice Board.esp

Am I supposed to select all of these while loading in the CK or just the esm file?

That further leads the question if it's all of them, the Open Cities esp also requires all the DLC esm's (dragon born, Hearthfire ect)

So does that mean I would have to select those too?

Been trying various combinations the last couple of hours and the Notice boards never appear in game until I revert to the original form 43 version.

    Please Help =)

  4. Thanks for the quick answer.

I am not so worried about the masters but the guides go on a lot about .....

"An implicit dependency is more tricky because you won’t see the required files listed in Wrye Bash. The most common implicit dependency is when dealing with the many landscape patches by Vorians and some by Arthmoor. The only way to know what implicit dependencies a mod has is to know what the mod does, which can discovered by reading its readme usually. Here again is why understanding what a mod does is crucial. Specifically, you must understand which mods a patch mod is designed to patch!"

This sounds like i need to include esp's that the one I am cleaning modifies which would mean knowing exactly how the mod works. Sounds daunting to me or is it just the guide scaring me too much?

Anyway thanks for the links I have read all of them, but I haven't seen the Fo3edit one yet. (maybe due to fallout 3 nexus site which I don't use)

  5. Hey there.

I have recently got a new PC so I thought I would dust off the old Oblivion disk and get into some serious modding. Over the last few weeks I have been working away building the ultimate game hehe. Now I probably made a few error's with loading to many things at once but I am confident at least that I did it right.

However, so my build is approaching about 200 plugins, and about 280 relevant files all up including BSA's and upon playing I have been getting some CTD's and I have a feeling it could be due to dirty mods. So I thought I would investigate the mod cleaning side of things.

Now I have read all the cleaning guides I could find, on the wiki and such but I am still a little confused. Ideally these guides would be much more helpful if they used a complex mod as an example, at this point it's just a bit vague to me and i get confused.

So to clarify I hope someone hear can help things make sense.

In all the guides I have read they stress that you must load all the plugins designed to run with the mod you are attempting to clean with that mod being loaded last. and to start at the top of your (correctly ordered list, which I am sure I have right.) Ok thats fine, so I begun and immediately ran into this little number.

    Tron.esp (underdark.)

explicit dependencies are Obvlion.esm (obviously) and underdark.esm

But In the description of wyrebash, it references

    Oblivion (latest patch official patch)

    Shivering Isles

    Roberts male/female bodies.

    Mage Equipment 21

    as requirements.

So does this mean I have to load all these mod's as well. (some of which load after this patch) or am I looking into this to deeply and only need the tron.esp and two masters?

any help (and possibly more examples would be much appreciated, and would go along way to helping me understand how this works.

    Thanks.

  6. Hi, i recently installed the advanced tactics mod, and currently my party is running like a well oiled killing machine in Nightmare mode, but there is still one thing that bothers me.

I can't seem to find any reliable way to have a tactic that will auto apply poison on my rogue characters weapons. Ideally I would want it to check when it is used up while in combat in combat and re apply until the fight is over.

Sorry if there is already something out that which achieves this. If anyone else has any idea's how to use tactics to do this, it would be much appreciated thanks.

    *edit*

I got this too work by using the While using flanking melee attack property, but unfortunately they end up using a vial everytime it's ready which is overkill (not too mention expensive)

Anybody got any better idea's to have this work more gracefully?

  7. Stardocks galactic Civilizations is great, the AI is something special I think.

Also not exactly TBS but close enough, get Temple of Elemental evil. (this is how D&D should be made for PC) just make sure you get the Circle of 8 mod

  8. it's all listed in the readme. If you havent read it, do so .... now :whistling:

It also sounds like you have a problem with the installation like it hasnt been done properly. Again read the read me, and try again.

Make sure it isnt conflicting with other mods you are using as well, and make sure it is last in your load order.

  9. Takes awhile for that stuff to happen on a new character because I think its tied to your weapon skills somewhat. If you arent using a new character, try setting it to 100, and testing.

I found the same thing, I would suggest installing some mods to ramp up the difficulty of combat as well.

  10. make sure any other mods you might have, have a chance to intialize before you set deadly reflex. I had much the same problem when I first used it. The trick was to wait until I stopped recieving messages regarding the various mods I had installed and then it would accept my key presses
