ok i think i missed this.. i'm running Oblivion on the computer. the Shivering isles, is that a separate CD? i thought i just had to download it off the official site, but that appears too be just the patch. Wow i think i really missed something there...... :mellow: edit: yea after looking to buy SI i now see why i was having so much trouble... i also see why it looked like it was going so fast on the updater, granted it only went to 50% it went from 0 - 50 in one leap. meaning there's only 2 real things on that, and 2 major things does not shivering isles make.

ok so its still the same version and the patch i'm trying to install is: ShiveringIsles_v1.2.0416English :am im trying to install the right patch right? also im not sure it doesen't specify the file it needs.

it is out of the box 1.1.425 so ill try to install SI patch and if it says error ill check anyways then. k checked, no version change and i tried w8ing a day and nothing.

also if your wondering which one i used its this one and im leaving oblivion at its install stage with no updates so i can try your suggestion right away :)

i definitely got the patch through the official site. and i tried to just install the SI but it gave me the 'old file not found. however, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match' and it was at 0 % installed. so i installed the oblivion patch to see if it would help and it went to 50 and i got that error again. when i uninstalled the whole thing and tried version 1.2 and then SI went in fine but nothing happens. i'm completely uninstalling it and reinstalling it. and ill try to just install SI i'll edit this when thats done with the results. yea it just says the whole "old file not found. however, yada yada yada" so what should i do?

I'm having the same problem and i tried that solution and it didn't work for me. mine stops at 50%, and here's what i tried: 1.2.1english then SI-gave me the error 1.2.1UK then SI-gave me the error then i tried 1.2 then SI and it installed, rather fast. and nothing is happening. currently i have1.2 then SI and i tried installing both 1.2.1 English and UK both gave me the error message.... help please
