Here is hoping as well. I don't want to play a Mass Effect clone, I want to play a Fallout game. WTF was Bethsheda thinking? they should've sticked to distribution and left developement to obsidian. That would have not pleased the barking seals who are raving for this game and who Beth is making and marketing this game for. Most of them hate NV, saying it was too boring, hard or that it forced them to think when they just wanted to do was be a badass and shot things in their badass armor, nor did they like that your actions had consequences. They want immersion but no consequences for their Fallout game. I'm going to throw my two cents in on this topic of conversation because...why not. I tend to see quite often that New Vegas is the better game between itself and 3 -- and it is in terms of it adding things that were missing or just made the game better --, but it is the more boring game of the two, mostly because it doesn't feel like a post-apoc game at times. I'll give an example: When I first left Vault 101 in 3, it was...awe-inspiring to say the very least. I looked and felt like it was truly post-apocalyptic. The people in the multiple settlements were actually trying to survive. When I left Doc Mitchell's house, I just stared at the town for a moment, shrugged my shoulders, and went to speak with the robot wandering past. It felt more like an old western than post apocalyptic. It didn't so much feel like the people were trying to survive as they were waiting for the NCR to come by and deal with the problem. Obsidian did good in the way of characters and story, especially when it comes to your companions, though I'd argue that the main story of New Vegas is worse than 3. But Bethesda knows how to make a world and that is what I've seen so far from everything I've seen of Fo4.

Problem getting Skyrim to start
ailestrike2331 replied to ailestrike2331's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Tried that. I tried booting up Skyrim in every way I can think of. All of them crash just before the menu appears. In other news, I'm getting that VAC error for TF2 again, so I'm thinking the problem is Steam itself. Going to try reinstalling it. -

Well, that didn't work. Ran it twice and then ran Skyrim from Steam and it's still crashing. I'm thinking this has something to do with TF2.... -

I...have no idea how to do that. -
Wasn't sure where to put this, but since Skyrim is a part of the problem, decided to post this here out of hope. The problem is that for whatever reason, both Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas are not starting...Well, the program starts but it doesn't do anything. I've tried starting them through Mod Organizer and Wrye Bash, but neither will do anything. When I tried starting them from outside of MO, the get to the main menu and just CTD. I haven't installed any new mods for either and they are the only games to be affected. The thing is, however, I recently installed Team Fortress 2 and was having some trouble with the VAC system that they have set up. So, after dealing with that and rebooting my computer a few times, TF2 works perfectly fine but Skyrim and New Vegas don't.

Hmmm...alright then, I was just curious about all that. Sounds like this mod is going to be pretty Grimdark. Delicious.

Hey there, Someguy, I've got a few questions: 1.) If Marko is in NVB3 -- I'm assuming he is -- will we get the chance to call him Marky Mark and his gang The Funky Bunch? 2.) Is anything going to happen with the Syndicate? 3.) You probably get asked this a lot, so I apologize if you do, but was there any actual way to save Bradley in the Inheritance? 4.) Is there an order to your mods that needs to be done to get the most out of them narratively? I haven't actually been keeping up with this thread, so I don't know a whole lot about what's actually going to happen besides what I skimmed off the first page.

Ah alright, well I wish you luck on both New Vegas Bounties III and Eeeeeevil Vegas Bounties. I think the thing is that you have to really go out of your way to keep Evil or Very Evil Karma, almost having to align with Caesar's Legion to do so. I'm playing a Neutral Evil character and he's at Very Good right now just from killing ghouls. I'm guessing this will be more along the lines of Saturday Morning Cartoon evil?

An alternate evil version of New Vegas Bounties 1? I'd be willing to test that out for the buggery of it.

I recently came up with idea for something I haven't seen yet: Spell Crossbows/Bows or Crossbows/Bows that cast Spells. Pretty much I wanted to make crossbows slightly more useful and to create a magical ranger/archer/crossbow-man build and play-through. The problem is I have no idea to actually make Bows/Crossbows cast spells. Going in, I thought that the properties that staffs used to cast their spells could transfer over. Nope. That is not the case. So now I'm at a wall and I have no idea how to continue. Also, I'd like the weapons to use no ammo or use their own ammo source at the very least, not bolts or arrows.

An Idea I had for Energy Weapon Ammo
ailestrike2331 replied to ailestrike2331's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
It's perfectly alright, I'm not very good at explaining things and I was trying to get it out fast. I've got charging the individual cells down(It was fairly easy to do). But for the rest of it, Think of energy weapon ammo as real world rechargable batteries or something similar. I'm not looking for the depleted cell to be dropped physically in the game world, but instead placed in your inventory like it is in vanilla. But what I'm looking to do is to get the game to place the depleted cell to be placed in your inventory only when you have after you have fired all your ammo and need to reload, instead of it being a possiblity of getting a depleted cell after every shot. Is this a better explaination. -
An Idea I had for Energy Weapon Ammo
ailestrike2331 posted a topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Alright, I had this idea for a new way the game could handle energy weapon ammo. I always found it confusing that the game would handle individual cells as one bullet even though the weapons themselves usually only consumed the ammo as charges. This became even more confusing when New Vegas came out with ammo now dropping empty cells occasionally when fired. Why are cells being consumed in place of charges and giving me back empty cells? Anyway, back on topic. My idea is this: Somehow making energy weapons just drop one cell when they had depleted their current 'clip' and charging the cells with fission batteries or existing energy cells. I'm guessing this is going to have be done through scripting, which I'm not even a little bit experienced with. Would anyone how I would go around doing what I've proposed? -
It looks very familiar to a weapon that features in the Stunkwater Gulch mod by Quetzlcoatl.
-
I couldn't figure out where this would go, so I put it under Mod Talk since It could potential help future modders. For a while now I've been working on a rather large mod of mine, but since I've been using a large amount of modders resources to suppliment my inability to create my own weapons and armor out of existing armor and weapons, though I really would like to do so so I'm not using so many modders resources. I know I have to use nifskope or blender or something but I'm not sure about the exact details. Can anyone point me in the right direction of I'm supposed to use? Also, I'd like to create my own textures. PS: Is there anyway to detach a .ESM from an .ESP? My currently uses Dead Money, Honest Hearts, and Old World Blues but I'd like to narrow that down to just Dead Money.

Modelers Contributations Here
ailestrike2331 replied to simplywayne90's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but the AR20 FAR is quite possibly the biggest weapon modders resource out there. http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16527
