  1. As an alternative to write-protecting the file, you can open %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini, and in the [Launcher] section, add bEnableFileSelection=1. This doesn't actually enable mod selection in the launcher like it sounds like it would, but it does stop the launcher from undoing changes to plugins.txt. I think this is a better idea than making plugins.txt read-only, because I'm afraid what will happen once mod managers start coming out is that people will forget their plugins.txt is read-only and be wondering why they can't change their load order (although maybe the mod managers will be smart enough to make the file writable before they try to change things).
  2. I manually converted the FO3 mod Better Living Through Chems to work with Tale of Two Wastelands as I couldn't find an existing conversion of it. Everything seems to be working except the addiction effects. Just now my character became addicted to morphine (Med-X), but for some reason the withdrawal effect is being applied immediately upon becoming addicted, and consuming more morphine doesn't get rid of it. I didn't think this was controlled by scripts or anything, I thought it was just part of the engine; if you have a particular withdrawal effect and you consume a chem tied to that withdrawal effect it's removed until the chem wears off. Is this not how it works? Does anyone know what controls the withdrawal effects being added and removed? Thanks.
