Okay everyone, something very weird happened. Everytime I tried to load a save in Skyrim, Skyrim would crash. So I decided to reinstall it, and what do you know? No more lag, and it doesn't crash. Very strange. I had done a reinstall the previous week.

Doesn't run when Steam is on, either.

I am not using any mods, whatsoever. I close all unncessary backround tasks, including Steam. (Yes, there is a way to do that.)

Hello, people of The Nexus Forums. This is my first post, so bear with me, and please excuse my stupidity, for I might be missing something that is in plain sight. I cannot run Skyrim without lagging badly. I have turned all my settings to the lowest, which is pretty much all I know what to do to increase performance. Here are my specs. Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit (6.1, Build 7601) Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHZ (8 CPUs), ~1.6GHz Memory: 4096 RAM (4 GB RAM) Display Adaptor: ATI Mobility Raeon HD 5730 (I believe that's all I need to provide, right?) So, yeah. Anyone had this sort of problem before, lag despite good (I assume my specs are good) specs? If anyone knows a fix, please comment. Any help is appreciated.
