I've had one thought that keeps going through my mind while I'm playing this game: I wish, wish, wish that the camera didn't force itself into third person during certain scripted events, such as, sitting down, entering power armor, using workstations, during conversations, while using VATS. And I keep wishing that there were a mod that would keep the camera in first person during those scripted camera changes. In all honesty I would do whatever it takes to make this mod myself and to learn the skills necessary to do so, however, I can only play this game on Xbox One because I can't afford a PC that would run it well, so I have no way to make this mod on my own. So my question is would anyone be willing/able to work on creating such a mod? I get it, all kinds of people get on these things and beg people to make all sorts of ridiculous mods for them and I know that many of them would only really be appreciated by a niche market and that many of them also expect the modder to do a lot of work and create assets and really go above and beyond the scope of reasonable expectation. I'd like to make an appeal here, however. I believe that many of the people that play Fallout 4 would absolutely love this mod because it would help to enhance immersion as we wait for a mod like Enhanced Camera for FO4. If such a mod were compatible with Enhanced Camere it would further increase immersion and possibly cover aspects that such a mod may overlook, i.e. maybe they change it so that most of the forced transitions are in first person, but they keep work stations in third person. So, people that get frustrated about that would have another mod to turn to, word could spread around and the potential shortcomings from an Enhanced Camera mod could also serve to make this mod even more popular. If my(limited) understanding is correct, this mod shouldn't be any more difficult than changing the camera's position during the forced third person switches. Also, since they're all scripted, there wouldn't be any player input to have to worry about so it wouldn't have to be "true first person". I am admitting my ignorance however, it's possible that what seems like a simple mod to me could actually be really difficult or not feasible to implement at the moment. Outside of the scope of the request, I'm also curious as to what would actually have to be done to create such a mod? Would it be simple? For anyone that takes the time out of their day to respond, I'd truly like to thank you. Just that has already done me a great service and I appreciate it immensely! All right, first I would like to clarify something: <b> I am not talking about a mod like Joy of Perspective or Enhanced Camera. I would love to see one, don't get me wrong, but I'm trying to request something different here! </b> I would love to have a mod that would keep the camera in first person for the scripted 3rd person camera switches. Instances such as entering and exiting power armor, death, falls, using a work bench, sitting down and standing up, VATS, conversations and anything else that forces the camera into third person. Basically, I'm just asking for a mod that lets me play in first person the entire time. I've seen elements of some of these in mods, however, most of them haven't been implemented. I'd sincerely like to thank everyone for taking the time out to read this and hopefully this would be something that people want in FO4!

So It's likely nothing that I'd be able to tweak by myself? I'm not sure the creators of solid project would be able to help since all of the first person animations are overlays, which the experimental third person arms in Enhanced Cameras seems to completely remove. Thank you for taking the time to answer!

I'm currently playing through Fallout: A Tale of Two Wastelands and I've been having a blast! For added immersion, I've been using a few mods: Solid Project adds some chem animations, a hand when interacting with doors or grabbing items, sprint, putting your hands down while falling and a few other things. Enhanced camera. And WAR Weapon Animation Replacers. Now, here's my impasse: if I disable the experimental third person arms, everything in Solid Project works great, all of the animation overlays play and everything's great! Plus, I think that melee weapons look a lot better without experimental third person arms. The only problem is that I love the experimental third person arms! Even more so with the Weapon Animation Replacers! unfortunately, none of the overlays from solid project show up and the melee looks like garbage :( I did find out that if I enable true first person iron sights in the ini file for Enhanced Camera AND I'm holding the button for iron sights that it'll show the overlays from Solid Project for picking up items and opening doors, however, no matter what I try the chem animations won't play at all. So my question is this, would there be any way to make it so that I could toggle experimental third person arms in game? Even better would there be a way to make it happen automatically when I interact with doors, pick up items or use a melee weapon? And, if so, how would I be able to go about doing it? I'll admit that my knowledge of modding is lacking or I'd gladly try to make a patch or something. Regardless, I thank you in advance for your time!!

No forced third person when playing in first person

I'm not too worried about an enhanced camera or a joy or perspective type mod coming to Fallout 4, I believe that it's an inevitability and that, although it's probably going to take some time, it'll be here eventually. The mod that I'm talking about refers to the scripted forced perspective 3rd person camera switches such as sitting down, petting Dogmeat, entering power armor, using VATS and using crafting stations. I use alert carry and I don't really mind not being able to see my body, I just find it really immersion breaking when the game forces 3rd person perspective on me when I'm playing in first person. So I was wondering if there's any interest in a mod that would fix those things. Ideally it'd be compatible with an enhanced camera mod but they're really two separate things.- 2 replies

I'm not sure if other people would be interested in using such a mod but I know that I'd love for a mod that keeps the first person camera while sitting, entering/exiting power armor, shooting in VATS, the crafting stations and in every other instance that forces the camera into third person. I'd love to be able to make such a mod, however, I only have Fallout 4 for Xbox One and there's no way that my laptop could handle it. So is it practical, how would one go about doing it, and would anyone be willing to try it out? Honestly, it all comes down to immersion for me, the third person bits don't completely drive me crazy but I just feel that it'd be So much more immersive if everything were to stay in first person. On a slightly unrelated note, I was also wondering if there's ever a chance of FO4 getting a mod that adds a hand when grabbing items and opening doors and would such a mod conflict with alert carry? I thank you for your time and I apologize if I'm rambling!
