Carpets go through objects. If you drop a quill on a carpet it will sink into the carpet.
The thing that makes objects to float is that their meshes include a bit of that empty space, in other words a bit of air.

You should remove the Oblivion's files before re-installing. Most impoertant to delete is the Data file which contains all the modifications, meshes, textures etc. of your previous "version".

Daggerfall might be a pretty tricky to install and launch.
You need to type the following in DosBox after installing:
mount c c:\dosgames -freesize 1000
mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall
c:
cd\dagger
dagger
Most people do a mistake when writing 'Daggerfall' in low-case letters
mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label daggerfall

Thanks i fixed that and a few other things but now when i get to the end of the quest my journal doesn't update
Do you have the proper script to update the Journal?

I've tried many Turn Based Strategies, and my ultimate favourite is Cosmic Supremacy.
Battle Dawn was one of the best until they changed it too much

It must be Fargoth
The corprus monsters are pretty scary. Amd the Bonelord gives me creeps

Why don't you test it? It's really hard to say does this have any errors or not

So you want to add the player's name to object?
I don't know how this is possible. When you summon something, the creature has player's name in it. Perhaps the answer will be found from Conjuring spell scripts?
Or you can always create a new item and name it, for example "Your Longsword" or "Your Jug"
'Your' refers to player character and this is maybe the easiest way to do this.

Im indeed using windows Xp, but thing is I'm already working on a mod, and actually ment in a script...
Trying to create a trophy script, but can't figure out how to rename a single item..
Ideas?
You mean you want to create a similar item but with different stats?
If so, you have to open the stats of the item. Change the stats more to your liking and the Editor ID into different and when it asks "Do you want to create new item?" Select 'Yes'
Otherwise it overwrites the original object and EVERY object of that kind will have the stats that you gave.
For example, let's take an object 'Silver Longsword'
It's Editor ID is "WeapSilverLongsword" without quotes. (Was I right?)
It has a damage of 14 points.
Now, if we give the damage a new value like 20.
If you just change the damage value, then every Silver Longsword in game will have a damage of 20.
But if we give damage value of 20 AND change the Editor ID to WeapSilverLongswordMyMod for example, a new object will be created. The Silver Longswords remain untouched.
You can put this new sword somewhere in game, add a script that gives it to player when doing something etc.
I hope this helped a bit
If this even was the information that you were looking for : )

Basically hes essential and i need to kill him.
i've gone into the construction set and removed his tag. hes still essential on my save game
i switched off pretty much all mods that could possibly effect him except OOO hes still imortal i've even tried console commands and they say his ID does'nt exist and fail to work.
im at the end of my tether. someone please save me i need to kill this guy in order to see my brothers and sisters of the brotherhood once more
This is strange. Matthias Draconis is not an essential NPC in Vanilla Oblivion. Perhaps you have a mod that affects to this NPC (perhaps a dirty mod?) and makes Matthias flagged as Essential. Then the Essential-flag is saved to your game data.
Try deactivating every mod of yours (except Oblivion.esm, of course) and start a new game. Just give the character some name and press 'Done'
After this open the console and type
player.moveto 00031000
and see is he flagged as 'Essential'
If he is non-Essential now, I'm pretty sure that you have a mod affecting this character.
To jump the killing stage of the quest, open the console and type
setstage Dark11Kin 30
This immediately jumps you to stage 30 in this quest. It's the stage when everyone needed to complete this quest are dead and you need to go to specific place for next quest and reward. I suggest you 'disable' every target of assassination required for this quest before doing this to prevent conflicts. Although 'disabling' may crash your game.
To disable an NPC, open the console, click on that NPC and type
disable
Your game might crash when you disable something
More about quest stages HERE WARNING! May contain spoilers!

Oblivion CS Autosave
in Mod troubleshooting
Posted
I didn't even know that there is an Autosave in Construction Set
But yes, I usually prefer saving manually too. It's pretty common that your saving corrupts/crashes while saving in Construction Set I think. It happens me sometimes when I try to save a mod for a first time.
