  1. Because I encounter something in the Oblivion game, which awakened my creative side, and maybe something a bit deeper inside of me,some old wounds, probably.

The reason of my desire to mod,is mostly driven by that 'deeper feeling' I have and completely reflects in the mod I am making,it is all wrapped around it,it is about a second chance, resurrection and seeking for a long lost conscience, fighting against sense of guilt, fighting against bad reputation and blurry interpretations of history.

Despite ruthless nature and strong rules in reality,I do believe that a person or a whole nation, deserves a second chance, and it shouldn't be judged by what 'the books are saying',and to not be left and forgotten over a single mistake,or because of some individuals who would like to go on a different path.

I got no second chance and I probably won't get it never,in reality, but I did found my second chance, here

    in Oblivion

  2. As Vagrant says, a little more info would help.

What are the warnings for? What mods are the .esps from? If they are custom mods, what are you trying to do?

Non-parent form warnings generally are not severe. Note the generally in there. Sometimes, as with everything thats usually "not severe" with modding, they can be absolutely fatal to a mods playability, and even to the game's stability if you enter cells that contain them.

Unless I'm missing a guess (which I'll freely admit wouldn't be the first time) its usually created when someone creates a copy of something, doesn't save it with a unique ID (therefore the CS still associates it with the parent object) but changes something about it so its NOT the parent object. Or some craziness like that.

I think the last time I saw this was a custom scripted Sigil Stone that I had made. All I ended up doing was changing it so the game/cs didn't know it was a Sigil Stone, it just used the mesh, texture and the icon. Though if I remember correctly, it worked as it should have in the game either way, so not fatal.

    Jenrai

You know,I haven't come across nothing fatal when I jumped to the game to check it out, thank goodness, nothing wrong in that cell.

But as I described to Vagrant, the only problem is that I can't add nothing from this resource I am using, and I can't delete 3 npc's I added, they always come back, because, apparently, they are somehow dependent on this resource, and I don't see how they could became,as I added as usual,I made no mistakes there, all the names and ID's are unique, the ones which required to be.

    Thanks for the answer,friend.

  3. More info?

It gives me that warning when I load up my mod I am working on,it says

there are 4 non-parent forms contains both something.esp and something1.esp,for example.

One esp is from a resource I am using and the other is my mod esp.

I did all like the 'book says',nothing is added in the mod without changing the editor id,so it is all unique.

After the last save i made in CS and after that warning,I got one more warning about missing object for a reference, too.

As result,I can't delete 3 npc's at all from the mod,and I can't add pieces from this resource.everything else works fine, all the other items are available from all the other resources I am using.

So it is just that one resource, and those npc's which makes a problem.

I don't see a reason why would those npc's become dependent on this resource, they have nothing from it,and there is no connection between the two.

    Thanks in forward

  4. I'm sorry if this has been asked a gazillion times before (which I'm sure it has :/), but I was just looking for some advice on the best mods to use the first time I play Oblivion. I'm not too bothered about graphical mods, model and texture swaps etc. Just looking for mods that make general improvements that make the game more enjoyable (but not too challenging).

    Thanks. :)

Check out some armors and weapons first, see how you feel in some new 'feathers' . ;)

Then, you can do some quests, why not?

I warmly recommend 'Gates To Aesgaard 1'

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13814

That was my first quest mod,and it was really good.If you like horror and you ain't shocked easily, then this is the mod for you.Good for leveling up,as well.

Excellent dungeon crawl and some new places to visit.

If you want some new, interesting story, something for a brain training, then definitely download and play 'Tears Of The Fiend'

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11598

This was a great experience to me,this story is extremely well written, and it will drop a big impact on you,if you get into it deep enough.Awesome,overall.

Maybe a new land and more to explore outside of Cyrodiil?

I would recommend Elsweyr, but that mod is currently hidden as I saw, though, before you have a chance to try it,try 'Windfall'

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21989

This mod is very well made,it is a new land with a pile of quests to do,and the quests are excellently written, many stuff to do in the land of Windfall.

That would be all for the start, these 3 will keep you busy for a long time.

If you want something a bit heavier and more challenging, maybe ayleid oriented?

    Try 'The Ayleid Steps'

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16316

This is incredible stuff,I hope you try it one day,it is a must have.

For using that mod you will need OBSE

    http://obse.silverlock.org/

That is oblivion script extender, and when you install it,you can download some obse based mods, for example a combat mod, called 'Deadly Reflex'

    http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273

In short, with OBSE,you can do amazing stuff which the vanilla game didn't allow you to.You won't regret it.

    And you will need COBL

    http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21104

which is a great thing, adds many new items of many types into the game, ingredients, books, clutter, etc.A must have,if you ask me.

Good hunting to you !

    Captain Moranda

  5. I thought since the plants were little, it wouldn't be a big deal. Grrrs on me. Okay, I'll make it more simplified. Thanks!

That was what I mentioned to you earlier, too much stuff in those tight Skingrad streets=lag time.

I am never enough of precise decoration and flowers and trees and everything, but the game can't deal with it,unfortunately.

    Keep up the good work.

I am almost done with mine, just a bit of furnishing and a couple of interiors and it will be ready for you to decorate as much as you want.

I'll drop ya a screenshot later.

  6. I really liked some voices from this game, and how they were done.

Wes Johnson was awesome, both as Sheogorath and guards,I would like to hear him again in TES V,giving his voice to the guards,as 'Stop! You violated the law' never gets old.

He perfectly characterized Sheogorath with his voice acting, especially with adding the scottish accent, perfectly bind to the character's psychotic tone and mood swings.10/10 in my book.

Now,Terence Stamp's voice...I find his short presence in this game,as the most fascinating. That man makes magic when while speaking,he could do a voice acting for a singing sweetroll and it would sound magnificent.

I really can't imagine no one else doing Camoran's speech rather then mr. Stamp, truly an epic experience he gave to this game,in that particular moment.

I enjoyed his ways of pronouncing words, such as 'Stonda' ' for Stendarr, for example, and the way how he 'buttoned' the scene before the final battle 'My long duel with Septims is over. The Emperor is DEAD. The Amulet Of Kings is MINE  ,etc.

He could definitely play Mankar,if there is a movie based on this game,no doubts in that.

Sean Bean has that 'tragedy/dramatic' color in his voice,it was quite interesting to hear him as Martin Septim, that was a perfect example of how a modest/humble emperor would sound.Too bad that Bethesda didn't expand his dialogue options, for example,a bit more of his background story and his Sanguine worship days, that would be interesting to hear and how he would interpret his story.Martin, the party animal,lol.Mr. Bean could play Martin in a possible movie,as well,I can't imagine no one else now,as Martin's character.

Elves,Nords,Redguards, all of them were done very good,in fact.

    Linda Carter's voice is default nord,whenever I hear her voice,I see a tall,blonde girl,wielding an axe.Good choice for the Nord females,definitely.

Except female Khajiits and female Argonians,by my opinion.

I know that they are supposed to have a bit rough/beastly color and tone, but this was just a bad beat to me.They sound like 80 years old geriatric patients after a pack of cheap cigarettes. Not just that, some parts sounded like a pure routine and like the actress just had read it from the paper, into the microphone.

It could have been done better,I think.

Overall,it's too bad that most of the dialogues and conversations are really limited with words choice.

It would be awesome if this idea could be brought into the game, but I guess there is not enough required elements for it.

  7. Alright, you know those statues with broken swords from the Ayleid ruin exteriors?

There is one unique with a whole sword, untouched,I think it is in Talwinque. And yes, there is one more as a part of that quest where you have to shoot into it,but it has a keyhole pillar,so I don't need that one.

I need the common one, with a non-broken sword, but it seems that in TES,I could only find the broken one, wrapped around with those ugly vines.

Any idea where to look for this one I need?

    Thanks in forward.

  8. Yes, you double click on an NPC, change the ID to something different, click OK, it'll tell you "You've changed the ID, create a new character?" or something to that effect, click yes, done.

    -Razorpony

Thanks, brother! Works smoothly like a moonwalk dance on an oiled surface!

And thanks to other people who gave an express answers.TesNexus rocks!

  9. I officially got sick of making NPC's,one by one! :wallbash:

    %#&@$!!!!

    Anyways.. :)

Is there a chance to create an NPC in CS,completely, along with the inventory, and then just duplicate the damn thing,to avoid making the same looking NPC with the same inventory individually?

    Thanks in forward.

    Captain Moranda

    Happy Easters,everyone!

  10. Excellent idea,I am happy to see that people comes up with ideas for huge mods and new lands, that keeps this game alive, definitely, til the TES V comes out.

I am making a huge mod,as well, and I know how much time it needs,it already took a nice portion of my life in the last couple of months, but I won't give up,even if TES V comes out tomorrow,I don't care.

Good luck, and don't give up,no matter of the troubles you might come across in the process.

  11. Working on my mod. It starts to feel a little repetitive after doing it for awhile. Getting somewhat overwhelmed by just how much there is to do. I chose Skingrad to beautify and I'm now thinking maybe I should have started with a smaller village.

Any words of inspiration? Any tricks of the trade to make it seem less daunting?

I have learned quite a lot. Although I still haven't even started re-texturing or re-meshing. I'm just working with vanilla objects in the game. But so far what I've done-if I may say so myself-looks fabulous!

I've played a little bit with the landscape tool. Wow, that was interesting. Realized the hard way pulling one part of the landscape down is like grabbing a string from a shirt and pulling on it. There's a lot that's pulled out of shape with it. Even if it is divided by a big fat stone wall. Duh. Live and learn. I fixed it. All is good.

Just wanted to pop in and chat. Any ideas? I got tons and tons of statues, planters, plants, trees, shrubs, candles. All of the back yards are going to have gardens and table and chairs where the residents of the home can sit out back and enjoy the sunshine. Too bad there are no hammocks I could use. Lol. Are there any hammock mods? If not, I'd like to eventually make one. That would be so cool to have a hammock hooked up between a couple of beautiful trees.

I'm procrastinating...but seriously, any words of encouragement or anything you can share with me to help make this seem less overwhelming would be appreciated. I only have the part of the town done that when you first walk into the gate and can go through that area under the two bridges to the next gate on the other side. It's really a tiny portion of Skingrad but it's taken me almost a week to do that much.

There's still the two parts of the village, the castle, the bridge to the castle and the land surrounding it. EeeeekS!

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this...

Can't wait to see it when you finish it,right on!

You can do it,seems like it's almost done,as Skingrad's streets are a bit 'tighter' then the rest of the cities, decorate them less then more clean parts,as you don't want it to lag a lot. ;) Keep up with the good work.

I had to reinstall my Oblivion and CS a couple of days ago,now going through it again, but it's going good, taken how little time I had for modding these last few days. And I have an occasional CS crash when I navigate in exteriors, but oh well,it's going so far.

I finished the exterior almost 100 %,now to pick up the right building for the chapel. ,then interior.

  12. Khet:

Just like it's my choice to use the items in-game or not, it's also my choice to use a mod or not. I like to play a game using every advantage I can get. While yes, I purposely have not sold/used the robe that comes with that mod, I shouldn't HAVE to not use it just to feel like I'm not cheating. You've missed the point. Also, I have quite a few mods already, including Natural Environments and other aesthetic mods, along with both Unnecessary Violence/Deady Reflex/Midas Spells, and I've only experienced 1 crash over multiple days of play up to level 15, so I'd also have to disagree with your comment that adding any mods will cause crashes. I have made my own mini-mods and know that crashes are mod specific. Thank you however for the the mod recommendations.

And the rest, thank you for the ideas, I'm currently checking them all out

Has everyone else also experienced this "twice a day" crashing from FCOM? I may avoid it if so, unless the amount of content is well worth an occasional crash. I tend to save my game before using doors that move to a new cell anyways out of habit.

All the great mods are already listed, though, here is my add:

    The Ayleid Steps http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16316

This mod will keep you busy for days, maybe more, very long, very tough quest mod, extremely well done, and it's very interesting, because you never know where the steps will take you, exactly. A must have.

An-Arane Cey - Lost Sword of the Ayleids http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20184

You mentioned that you want to earn a powerful item, rather then to get it as a gift or a house add-on.This is exactly what you want.

Arrows of the Ayleid King http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10740

A fun little quest and a nice reward, unique arrows, beautifully done and very useful and fun to play with.

    Ayleid Extensions http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7581

This gives a point to Umbacano's quest and final ruin. Now,you won't be disappointed with the sealed rooms being empty.A must have.

    AFK_Weye http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22828

This is an expansion of the Weye village, along with many, many quests to be done,a must have mod.

And yes, every mod made by Symiaz, especially Tears Of The Fiend

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11598

That is the most serious story I have seen on here, and it will mess with your mind.Horrifying,bone-chilling dead-serious psychological horror/thriller,very accurate and extremely well written. This mod is #1 for me,definitely.

Enjoy the mods and happy hunting.

  13. Possible, sure... Just an excessive amount of work for something that won't play very well even when done right. More than 15 actors (both your side and those you're fighting) can cause an enormous delay in NPC response, making any system like this virtually useless and extremely frustrating if any of these things are given any particular meaning. Oblivion was just not designed to handle large scale battles to any degree, and you have to literally use every trick in the book to come up with anything functional which usually results in a very uninteresting fight.

Take it however you want, but you might want to do a bit of testing just to see if the situations you are wanting to use can even be done small scale and using fixed locations before trying to create a system that can work anywhere.

Thanks for the response and advice, friend.

I did a bit of a test a couple of days ago >>>

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30772

I made 34 NPC's,armed them and made them aggressive, all in one faction, for a larger battle.

And it turned out not being bad as I thought it would be.Though,I had to use tricks such as ,not adding any spells to them at all,and giving them more or less regular weapons, nothing enchanted,as the lots of spells together would lead to a possible crash,so,yes, you are definitely right about the tricks.

And,I had to lower the grass distance a bit,to avoid too much lag.

It went good when I clashed with them.Though,I noticed that,if I go alone, they wouldn't attack all together, some would flee, then come back when I reduce their number by defeating the first wave.

But when I brought 10 on my side...It went pretty smooth, they all attacked together, and the battle wasn't bad at all,it had a nice timing as well.

I didn't had any lag problems in a huge amounts, too.

I think it can be done. With,as you say, every trick possible for usage.

I am really interested in the command system, that would fun for the players, maybe even as a standalone mod, too,if someone is up for a smaller thing,say,8 on 8,or such.

  14. Alright,here we go.

With the huge mod I am making, hopefully,I will bring Oblivion on a whole new level, speaking of the large scale battles.

The thing which cam up on my mind is:

Would it be possible to make something as a battle command system?

Let's imagine, for example:You're leading 41 soldiers, and you arrived on the battlefield. Before the start, you need to line up your men in a formation of your desire. You have 10 archers,10 swordsmen,10 heavy assault soldiers equipped with claymores, and 10 equipped with blunt force.Every unit has it's commander, and the whole group has 1 commander/tactician which will execute your orders.

Now here's the deal:I'd like to know if there is any way to make a script or something, which will line up your men in parallel lines or any other formation desired,by giving the order to the chief-in-command,or even talking with the unit commanders individually?

    Thanks in forward!

  15. Well,my character in Oblivion was an honored warrior, mostly good, helping the people all the time, not going for a killing rampage for no reason, etc, but if it is needed to be a bit bad, such as joining the Dark Brotherhood,it was no trouble at all. My character was adaptable for any situation, for every task, whatever comes as a 'path of destiny',in game. In this game I was able to to do things I couldn't in reality, not because I didn't want to,it was because I really couldn't,it wasn't in my power,it was more bigger then me,then everyone on my side.Bigger then the 'small people',roughly said. The character I played with, has a hard head, pretty stubborn, skilled warrior, brave and honored, and always up for something to do,very protective over friends and the peasantry. But under that thick skin, there was a sea of emotions,a real sensitive side,of every kind, towards every character in game, from a merchant to the emperor, for the art, music,a dance, standing in Anvil Harbor and watching the sunset and all those pretty little stuff which makes joy to most of us.That is me in reality, without bragging,I proved to myself those things many times in the past, both difficult and hard situations.Sometimes,I just had to be tough, and still have,as I work as a bodyguard, that is my work for years now,I was a bouncer in the various clubs here, too, not anymore though,as I am in mature years,to be a 'gorilla at the doors'.Before working as a bodyguard,I was something else, but I don't like to bring that up open like this.Anyways...I got my education in music,I finished both lower and high music school here in Serbia,I am sensitive deep inside,I prefer a good book or a walk to the museum or a concert, rather then drinking in a dive bar and brawling ,for fun.I collect movies in my free time, and make some little mods here,I have a rabbit as a pet  ,too,I enjoy in working out,to feel healthy, not just for the good looks,I am not obsessed with that, never been.I have 9 cousin sisters and one half sister and two half brothers, and I am the eldest one,so I enjoy the time with the family as much as I can,and I try to put them on a good path with advices and wisdom I gathered from my own victories and defeats.I am able, like my character was,to be hard and tough when the situation requires, yet sensitive and soft when it comes to human relationships, hobbies and interests. My character was exactly what I am in reality.Of almost forgotten and despised nation,6'4 260 pounds punching machine with a thing for a good cup of tea and Slavic fairytales to read.

Oh and,as for the game...I hated to be a part of the Thieves Guild!

I hate thieves, and I vote for that old mediveal age law of a blade over the thief's hand, for straightening him up. Ruthless but effective.

Why I hate thieves?Because the one who can steal, can betray you, too.Betrayal and treachery are the things I despise the most,in reality.

Happy hunting, brothers and sisters of Oblivion.

  16. Vikings

Experience a new world, full of dangers, from snowy mountain-tops to dark forests! Meet unique and interesting characters in a world of Vikings.

Vikings is a new mod that will feature... you guessed it, the Vikings.

As some of you may know, I have a mod called Viking Village. Well, I always wanted to expand on this idea, and now the time has come!

Me and a friend are trying to assemble a team to work on this new mod together. So if you want to work with us on the Vikings, please post here, send me a pm or send me a mail. :)

    Current Team

    Team Leader: Zaldir

    Interior Designer: Armagedd0n

So we're pretty much looking for everything! :)

    Features:

    A New World

A mostly snowy world, with a few green spots. It's a harsh world, and you will have to fight to survive!

    New Creatures

New, and interesting creatures, found nowhere else! Some "normal" animals taken from the real worlds north, but also creatures taken from the Norse Mythology!

    Quests

It will feature many, and interesting quests. It will have one main quest-line, with multiple choices, as well as a bunch of small and bigger side quests.

    Unique Characters

Characters with a real personality and background. No character will look alike, and everyone will have their own unique personality. (Some generic npcs will exists, but only to fill up the world...)

    And more!

    * "Vikings" is just a working title, and the real name will be figured out later.

Sounds great,I love the Vikings and scandinavian mythology and culture.

It's fascinating how they lived and trained, and their dedication to the family and their blood-brethren.

I would join this, but I have two huge mods I am working on,and it takes much more time then I thought it would take.

If I come across something interesting,I will throw ya a link,or give you an advice in for your future progress.Kudos to you, brother, for making something smart and interesting for this game.

Oh and the name popped up into my mind as soon as I seen the description

'The Road to Valhalla-Call Of Odin' or something like that.

    Good luck!

  17. ok so i downloaded the folder and put the whole folder in data.then i put the .esp file outside of the file with my other mods.i go to the launcher and i check the mod and launch the game.i buy the book and i dont see the map and no quest pops up.What do i do?

The Lost Paladins Of The Divines is a non/journal quest, there are no quest markers. You have to find the 'lost armor' if there is quest markers,it would take 10 minutes for you to find it. ;)

Read the book, and check out the picture in the book, there is one right before the last page,I think. When you see the picture, open up the map,and compare it.Can't be easier then that. ;)

    Happy hunting,paladin!

  18. I use to go through the mods and after I downloaded them and installed them into my game, I always wondered why they would spend so much time on something they don't get paid for. Haha! Now I know.

I think I'll become more of a decorative modder for exteriors and interiors. I'm not going to get into the quests, body/hair/make-up, weapons, etc...

It's like being God. I say "Let there be a beautiful village!" and there is a beautiful village! It's addicting.

I can't wait until I get really, really good and do anything I want without having to hurt my brain trying to do it. Yays!!! And Yays again!!!

For everyone who's helped me either directly or by writing long boring (wink) manuals on modding-thank you, thank you, thank you and especially to all the modders here on Tes Nexus who've inspired me! I'm super psyched! Can't you tell.

I think you're going to love my mod when I upload it. It'll be awhile because I want it to be so beautiful you'll be awestruck when you walk into Skingrad and look around after downloading it.

By the way..for future reference and it will be awhile before I'm ready but I'm putting out feelers now. Would anyone like to test my mod when I'm finished? I'm not doing anything too complicated..it's all just decoration stuff. Please send me a PM if you'd be interested in giving me feedback and letting me know if it conflicts with any other mods. I'll probably ask again when I'm closer to being finished.

    Right on!

A I am an esthetic freak and always likes to see some impressive interiors,I will be more then glad to test it.Buzz me up when you finish with your mod,and good luck!If you need any help, feel free to ask.

Oh and,as I've read what you intend to do,I thought I'd throw you an idea.I ran across a stunning resource by Mr Siika,he always makes impressive stuff >

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30404

You can add a couple of those in front of the chapel, for the people to buy some stuff on sundas, before the church time. ;)

  19. You could take 15 Aurorans with you, but only about eight at a time. There is a lot of debate about whether or not the follower limit actually exists, but I myself have received in-game error messages or observed strange AI abberations when I had eight followers.

Yeah,it's a bad beat,I am still fighting with it ,every day for a bit.

Testing,,testing, testing.I am currently on my first project a 'test battle' to see how it goes,I made 60 redguards, without spells added,to reduce the lag,and brought 50 ayleid companions to fight with them, all without spells too, pure sword fight. You know that area, across Fort Urasek, near the wayshrine? It's a lot of an empty space, great for a battlefield.I placed them all there, the redguards, later tonight,I am going to launch the attack,to see how it goes.

This is all experimental,I am building a huge mod, piece by piece, which will involve huge battles.I hope for the best.

I mean,if I can't override the engine,to make it to happen,I can use empty enviroments in Cyrodiil and delete spells from NPC's to reduce the potential hits.

  20. So you went on a 'holy path',you ran like a rabbit through the wilderness to seek the blessings from the Nines on their ancient wayshrines, you fought the ghosts of the fallen knights and restored the lodge as it looked once, you gathered up a team of the knights to join the cause, you saved those chapels from the auroran axe,and at the very end,you slew the ancient tyrant,an old sorcerer, deformed and corrupted, bitter and revengeful in the name of the old days and his defeat,Umaril II,The Unfeathered. You earned every 'hail' and every 'sir knight' on the street with blood and sweat, you showed once more that no one can take on the empire while you are around, and that no one should ever think of that again,no matter how much power the one posses...

What was your reward for doing it?

I mean, yes,'a worthy knight,a poor pilgrim and merely a servant of the nine' seeks no fame and fortunes...

But,when you went to the priory after your crusade, you found out that nothings changed there, your knights will live a boring life in there, ranting about some hot-headed ideas about 'epic plans' and crusades, but they will not move from the priory, never, ever, unless you take some of them for your own goals.

I didn't like the armor, that much, too.Maybe because I am an 'ayleid enthusiast'. :) Nor the weapons.

What I did,is...I got sad because the quest was too short, not very original and interesting, and it ended pretty awkward. So I put the armor on the rack, along with the weapons, and left, never to return.

So I came upon the idea..Maybe someone would like to take Umaril's place instead. Maybe some golden knights of his wants to 'redeem' theirselves, with following you to do some good, instead of tearing the chapelans apart with huge axes and throwing their corpses in the main altar. :)

Maybe someone would like to rule and operate from Garlas Maltar,as an overseer of the Abecean sea. :)

Maybe it's time for a new march!

A huge intro for a small mod,but yeah, you get the picture.

Next release I will make is 'March Or Die:The Golden Auroran Army'

Small mod where you will be able to sit down at the throne in Garlas Maltar,to take some aurorans with you(15 of them precisely),and to get some nice rewards from the ruin, once you finish the KoTN.

You will become the new ayleid ruler. It is up to you to pick your path, good or evil, though. But you will be one,no matter what type of the character you are.

  21. My list seems to be endless, but I will only spit out a few.

I hate the quest where I need to follow Modryn Oreyn in Arpenia. He walks damn slow and it's just a tutorial to see how the traps are working inside,I guess. And Modryn took a chance to show his 'guild champion' skill, giving some merciless beatings to the rats and mudcrabs with a morning star, then, whoa, the real bad guys aren't even there. Then you become an errant-boy again, doing the real work while 'the champion' and the rest of the 'tough guild mercs' are practicing their skills which they never use and having ridiculous conversations in the warmth of the guild.Boring and pointless. :ermm:

Then,Baurus and his 'undercover' work in the sewers.Oh,that's just a bad beat.Going through those damn sewers with him walking like he is blind, for 15 minutes...And then, what? When you play it for the first time, you expect that YOU will be the one who will need some protection against the Mythic Dawn members, and you look at Baurus,a blade, elite bodyguard of the emperor... Then, young Camoran comes in,and rips that picture in pieces with just a couple of blows. Blades?Hell, even without mods, when I was bored, made a clean save, took Umbra, and finished the Cloud Ruler Temple in 10 minutes, reloaded that save, and thought 'What?'They should have made them stronger, after all they are the most elite warriors in Cyrodiil.Poorly done, for real.

Every recommendation for the Mages Guild. And every quest of the Mages Guild, including the final one.

I thought I'll need at least 6 months of playing to master some magic and THEN to go on the guild challenges. It should have been that way,it's a mage guild, people are learning the craft there for ages and all that.

It turned out that it's playable with a pure, brute force. So I remember being a Warlock, and I couldn't cast a snowball 3 times in a raw without my magicka going on 0.What was the result?I became an arch-mage,with daedric warhammer in my hands, and a title to brag with. The point is,you are an errant-boy there too,and you can become a head of the most respected university in the whole Tamriel, even if an imp knows more magic then you do.

Not to mention my great disappointment ,when I faced the King Of Worms.

What the hell happened there?I thought I am going to face an 'old powerful necromancer',a terror bringer.Instead of that,I faced a King Of Peasantry, mouthful and promising, yet, weaker then Puny Ancus.Unoriginal and predictive.

The whole Thieves Guild quest.Along with the Thieves Guild members.Except the last quest, because I love the Ayleids, and going through 'The Old Way',made me to jump from the chair, when I saw the ancient guardians alive. The only place and one single moment, where you really faced something 'ancient',something legendary, and the feeling I had was legendary as well.

I hate the Gray Fox,because he tricked the player and send him out for errant(again being an errant boy) for his own goals.Without being thankful and smarter,he gives you that ugly cowl, arrogantly saying 'goodbye' to you and congratulating for being a new leader. That's why I killed him, immediately, even I am not an evil character, never been. But he deserved a claymore up to his Sideways Cave.

In fact, more then half of the quests in every guild are tutorials indeed, for the player to see,how it is when you cast a spell, how it goes when you're in a sneak mode, pickpocketing, lockpicking, dungeon crawling etc.

I found 80 % of the quests not being challenging at all.Completelack of ideas, copying some famous novels and movie quote,etc..Though,many of those has a really interesting plots, and had potential to be epic, but, you know, 'HAD',since Bethesda didn't care enough,I suppose.

But I feel bad when I trash Oblivion somehow, because it is overall a great game, not now, when we see all the flaws and when it showed it's age,but back then, when it came out,it really gave more choice for the player then any other game. This is the first game where you could live another life for real,it moved the borders in the game world, and that's why I will stay faithful to the series forever.

I say,may Akatosh bless the mods and tesnexus. Without it,I doubt that I would bother with Oblivion this much, after all these years.

I really hope that Bethesda will make a game of the millenium with their next sequel of The Elder Scrolls. And I really hope that they saw all of this creations that people made and took the best of it for expanding their development to the maximum.
