The 'speech generator' you mentioned which would use vanilla voices,is exactly what I was thinking of when I played Oblivion mods, especially those which includes lots of dialogues.Yes,it is annoying that you have to read novels basically, without hearing it.
I don't know if it is possible to make that kind of a thing, though,it would be
awesome,i think I would replay some Oblivion again, then.
It would be definitely great if they provide such thing for the new game CS.

It's the only place that kept me around for more than a couple of months. It's wierd to say this, knowing myself, but here I am after more than 2 years. I have met many nice people over the years and I can say I improved my English quite a bit since I'm here.
Push, I didn't even notice anything wrong with your English. You're doing a great job with the language. What's your first language, if you don't mind my asking?
We are neighbors!
Serbia here. And Romania rocks, btw,I have a couple of friends from Bukurest, and one moldavian friend also living in Romania.

Please, tell me,how do you feel about these guys?
How many of you finished KoTN,and thought 'Hmmm, these golden boys aren't bad fighters, wouldn't be bad for someone to lead them, maybe, better then the previous guy'?
Shoot :)

DariusMoranda: No problem, normally just installing the last SI patch over an unpatched oblivion overrode by SI is enough but may exist special cases, mainly concerned about non common DVD media that i know nothing about. I imagine than no harm is caused (since Beth possibly previewed someone could be willing to install SI after having the game already patched)... just is a big download that Oblivion patch for those who already have SI
About the Beta patches you're right, but that reinstall necessity occurs even if the beta SI was over already 1.2.1416 oblivion, since the beta breaks badly several things.
I had troubles with it,you don't know how many, lol. When Oblivion crashed on me completely,I decided to make a clean install, using official expansions and very few selected mods, also,I wanted to try OBSE,as I am making my mods now,and I wanted to see how much it will help in creation as an extension for some ideas I had.
I,literally, uninstalled and installed Oblivion 14 times. And it was always Shivering isle patch issue.'Old file not found'.Then I googled a bit,and still had no luck, until I talked to a friend who plays the game, and had a 'cure' written above^^.
So,Oblivion patch worked over the game + KoTN,and OBSE is working smooth, too. After 14th time!

Hi,
Sorry I keep bugging everyone with so many questions. I'm reinstalling my Oblivion game and add ons. There are so many patches though, I'm confused as to which ones need to be installed for Oblivion and the two expansion packs. I plan on installing OBSE also and I know one of the patches conflicts with that installation.
Could someone please tell me in what order I should install what patches with my wanting to install OBSE in mind. And should I install the OBSE v.17 or the V.18 or the autopatch?
Thank you!
This is covered in the Tes Nexus mod pages and I looked at that but it didn't really help me with the installation order for the patches. If a link that does help with this question does exist you can just post that and that would be great.
First,install the game.
Then install Knights of the Nine,if you have it.
DO NOT INSTALL Shivering Isles, because that expansion will patch your game, and the latest patch you need for OBSE,doesn't work with the one Shivering Isles has.
http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm
After installing KoTN,go there ^^^
And look under 'Oblivion patches'
First one you need 'OBLIVION PATCH v1.2.0416'
Download and install that one,THEN Shivering Isles,THEN you can patch Shivering Isles.
As for OBSE,I recommend v.18.
Sorry but I do not understand that procedure. SI already patches Oblivion and applying an older version actually downgrades the first patch and the last SI version will always be over that. So patching first Oblivion will bring nothing new and actually may create issues for SI.
The last SI patch is enough.
PS: The reason 1.2.1416 Si patch is smaller than the same for Oblivion is most changes to Oblivion were done by the original SI and did not change in relation to the last patch.
That combination worked for me,and I have no issues in the game play.
Th reason why I did like that,is that because I had difficulties installing Shivering Isle patch,>>>
SHIVERING ISLES PATCH v1.2.0416
ShiveringIsles_v1.2.0416English.exe (1.1 MB) 04/30/2007
This patch is for all English versions.
This patch is NOT compatible with copies purchased via direct2drive of Shivering Isles.
Please Note: You will need to uninstall and reinstall Oblivion if you installed any of the Shivering Isles beta patches.
I had troubles with the 'old file not found' patch issue,so I did as I wrote there ^^^,and it worked.
I haven't tried nothing else,so,probably there are other and better ways to patch the game.

My Tes Construction keeps opening up with this "DEFAULT.esp" file that I didn't download. The .esp just keeps popping up in my Oblivion/data file every time I open the Construction set.
I try deleting it but it just keeps coming back. Does anyone know why this is happening? I didn't do anything. I was just making a simple mod.
I've reinstalled Tes Construction and restored my computer. I've cleaned the registry and I don't know what else to do.
I am not experienced much in CS,since I started to make mods recently, but I remember having a trouble similar as you have now, only,I had 2 esp's popping out every time when I load up Oblivion esm, then closing the CS and going for a game play.I deleted all the esp's I didn't need but I caught them showing up again and again when I was checking the data files on the start menu of the game.I think it was some mod causing it,which I downloaded, dirty one probably.I reinstalled both oblivion and CS,and everything worked fine after.I wouldn't know the other option, maybe you should try to remember what mod you have added recently, and try to delete every trace of them from the data.Maybe that will help.
I'll search for the problems similar to this later tonight,so if I come up on something,I'll let ya know.

I make a new caracter everytime a screw up... But she always looks the same, has the same alliance and has the same name...
So in a way I am very loyal and in a way not ;]
I've beaten Oblivion around 6 or 7 times since it came out.First,I used a Nord male character, but when I came here and discovered the Ayleid race and that I really like all about them..Woohoo! I had 4 ayleid female characters and they all had the same name and stats. Ayleidoon til the end.
<<<<<Loyal to the bone
Agea haelia ne jorane emero laloria.

The most beautiful NPC? Isnt that obvious?
http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/17166/710543-haskill_large.jpg
Rofl!That's awesome!
For me,definitely Ardaline.
Then Carahin,Methredel and Carwen.
Oh and both of the dark seducer and golden saint captains from that quest in Shivering Isles, when you need to choose between the two sides.
-
I voted for The Great Forest,it is the location closest to the Imperial Reserve.Imperial Reserve, deffo!
Because Elenglynn is there, the most beautiful ruin exterior and surroundings I've seen in this game.
Shivering Isles,Mania.Simply because I like colors.

Sure I'll test it for you.
I think WilmRoget's idea about posting a disclaimer of that sort is good. That's what I meant with the movie disclaimer example. But I still say, do remember that many mods and vanilla oblivion itself have many disturbing situations and people. There is a mod or two out there that depict bondage, sadomasochism, etc. One mod has women assaulted by an octopus like creature for cryin out loud!
Now, I can get on a soapbox quicker than anyone regarding rape and child molestation. Child molestation is a no no in any form, here or any other mod hosting forum. However, all the other dastardly things we humans do to each other don't seem to be. That doesn't make it right, or insure that a multitude of people will be for or against the mod.
One of the beauties of the board, is that if a mod has sexual or disturbing content, the modder can place that in the description right at the top, then folks have the CHOICE to view/download or not. So I still think you'll be ok. If you really want to get a positive nod from the moderators/admin, then pm one of them. They are really good about getting back to you on questions like that.
If you make it, just let me know when it's done and I'll download and test. I do think it's very admirable of you to be concerned about how your mod will affect others.
Thanks, brother! :DIt'll be done by the next evening,as I have only one character to finish and to add him a 'prisoner file'.I tweaked the other 9 as much as I could,I placed many items in their inventories to match their characters and I added them lore-fitting armors and outfits, all enchanted, many, many goodies they have. :)They are ruthless, they are merciless, they are aggressive, and they don't care.Perfect for the evil characters around here.
And,of course no child molest is involved,I have 9 cousin-sisters and on half sister, all underage,I love children, and I am not like that at all.
Though, there is a slight problem. One of my characters IS a convicted sex criminal.I tried to make them different from each other,so,every one of them is a criminal of a specific kind. So,for example, one is a serial torturer, one is a necromancer necrophiliac, the other is a barbaric warlord always up for mutilation of the dead ones, one is a cold-blooded killer merc type,I have one head-chopping tribe leader,a deadra worshiping wizard, and at the end, yes,I made one who is a perverted sexual predator.I didn't made him to look serious in his 'story' though.I wrote his 'file' as a brute-comedy style like in Tarantino's movies.I wonder if that could be a problem...
Anyways, thanks again,I will inform you about the mod end as soon as possible,so you can see it,and to give me some advice, what's good and what's not good.
You make that "thanks sister" and you got a deal  I love Tarentino, so of course it is ok by me. If you're worried about the sexual predator issue, you could make that one a multiple personality disordered sociopath (yeah I teach psychology, lol). One personality would be seemingly very accomodating and nice, yet he is in cahoots with his "dark" side that does prey on NPCs male or female. Then of course you'd have to have the truly innocent and unaware personality, since in MPD the person is not aware they have alters, but the alters are aware of the person. You could make that person a master of poison and a cannibal. Cannibal, Hannibel Lector style would be really good, lol
Ok, I'm looking forward to it, just holla when you're done!
Ok, never mind, lol I just read the descriptions again, you've got 'em all, so just go with what ya got!
A woman who teaches psychology and likes Oblivion! Woohoo!Impressive!I,myself, have read psychology literature a lot,and as an ex-warrior,had a chance to gain some raw education about it. ;) Best way to learn is by practice.
Sorry for the 'brother' thing, sister. ;)
You perfectly said there, multiple personality it is already, one side is a very 'innocent' looking and the other is a 'there is no 'no' as an answer' wacko.
His name is Valus 'Pretty Boy' Tremensius, and he is a 'womanizer/bard',a real 'Don Juan',lol. You know, when he is not busy with killing and abuse innocent people for no reason. :whistling: As for the Hannibal Lecter,I was inspired by him to do the altmer guy,'Ash Collector',You're gonna love his face,I characterized him visually as much as it was possible.
They are ready,I am making some special screenies of them now, will be up in no time!

Welcome to the House of Dark0ne.
Read the 'Holy' Rules Thread, and have fun here. Everyone does!
Hello's and welcome's !
Have fun with the mods and enjoy your time here. :)
Oops,wrong 'reply' button.

Thanks,guys!
I never had trouble with names, but those little buggers, wood elves, has a strange mixture of cultures in their names,so I had to check up their default 'formula'.
These generators are great, btw,it will serve me good now,as I have to name 850 NPC for my upcoming mod this year.Stay tuned!
Barra agea ry sou karan!

Some history:
The Black Hand got the name of the former serbian assassination group, 'Crna Ruka',which means 'The Black Hand'.Under their leadership,Gavrilo Princip killed the Archduke of Austro-Hungarian Empire,Franz Ferdinand,in the name of the liberation from the imperialists. That assassination caused the WW1to start
Yeah, it's true, i haven't noticed earlier. I know for "Crna Ruka", but I haven't relized. Also, when looking in the name of city "SkinGRAD", you can see last four letters GRAD, which means CITY or TOWN in lot of languages, like Russian and Serbian...
Yep,there are quite a few 'eastern' eggs. ;) Skingrad sounds like 'Beograd' . That's where I live!
-
I forgat to add!
They are of all races from all the provinces,I like it that way,to be 'colored' as much as possible.
These are their names-
Marseille 'The Black Bishop' LaRouche-breton necromancer mass murderer from High Rock
Vindel 'Cannibal' Deurus-redguard psychopatic black knight/cannibal from Hammerfell
Groger 'The Mad Butcher' gro-Barbash-orc warlord and torturer from Orsinium
Ralven 'Shadowchaser' Arenni-dark elf manhunting silencer from Morrowind
Ulfar 'The Nightrider' Eriksson-nord barbaric maniac-raider from Skyrim
Aralmo 'The Ash Collector' Yarandill-high elf wizard serial killer from Summerset Isle
M'drassa 'The Panther' J'bari-khajiit psychotic drug dealing tribe leader
Ashuuja-Ji a.k.a.'Swings-With-Guts'-argonian homicidal stalker-slayer from Blackmarsh
Valus 'Pretty Boy' Tremensius-imperial from Cyrodiil, serial sexual predator,cleptomaniac/widow killer
and
Marulin 'Mudcrab' Idamil-wood elf from Valenwood, multiple personality-paranoid maradeur ranger who hates animals (he is the one I need to finish)
I tried to be very accurate with their names and characters,as well as their background story.I do hope this mod will see the light of the day.
This is a male edition, next month, when I come back here,I will make female one.Now that will attract people,I have no doubts! :D It's always good to have female company. In a large number.

I have friends who are survivors of various kinds of assaults - one of the terms they frequently use is 'trigger' - as in, the 'x news story may be a trigger for people who have been raped" or 'hearing about so and so triggered . . ."
So - if you state in your description that its contents may be a trigger for people - those who have reason to avoid such material will get the picture.
Yes,that's what concerns me,I don't want to trigger someone's bad memories or such, that is not my goal.
This mod is dedicated to the people who play as evil characters,I myself is not, neither do I find these kind of things entertaining in reality of course, but, going through the search box,I gathered that people usually likes dark themed mods,so I decided to do something based on that.It really isn't a big thing, since it is just a companion mod,but these 'people' has notes in their inventory which describes them in a very detailed way. Some parts of these stories are meant to be funny, but some are very serious.
I hate how companion mods usually doesn't have any backup stories,so,you get the picture.I was inspired for this mod by various villains, such as 'Stansfield' from the movie 'Professional' 'Hannibal Lector' ,Malcolm McDowell from 'Clockwork Orange',if you seen it,then you know that they didn't saved on no one, neither did I in these 'prisoner files' from this mod.
Thanks for the advice,brother.
I will post a warning in the description, for sure.
I still need an answer from one of the moderators, though,I don't want to be crusified for this, even it is just fictional stories, not serious fantasies or any kind of real illness.
Sure I'll test it for you.

When you're facing Garlas Malatar's front door, turn right, dive into the water, and you will see a small sunken ayleid tower. There is an ayleid reliquary on the top of it with a nice loot.Well,it was nice, because I was level 55.
There are hidden torture chambers in Leyawiin Castle. :pinch:
Captain Dion crouches for no reason, when he is in front of the Skingrad chapel.
When Umbacano turns into 'an evil King Of Nenalata' and if he hits you, there is a chance that you can get Porphyric Hemophilia disease.
I attacked the guard once,,and resisted arrest, then he attacked me as it usually goes.I yielded and he said 'That was a wise choice ,citizen.',and left.It happened to me only once.
There is a dead body of a breton who fell from the Dive Rock,it is near the Aerin's camp.
If you are a member of the Fighter's Guild and you do the main quest, after the Lakeside Cave cleaning, fast traveling to Leyawiin can give you some troubles with your guild.Cingor will attack you on sight,as he is a Mythic Dawn Agent,if you decide to kill him ,you will be removed from the guild.
Faelian killed Lorkmir, his body is in the basement.
Arena Blademaster has a daughter,it's the girl who's practicing hand to hand with the argonian fellow outside the arena. You can see it in the crumpled note, located on the blademaster's left side.
There is a war going in the Rockmilk Cave, between the bandits and maradeurs. And there is a dog with the name 'Pumpkin' there, which will not attack you.
There are a couple of pirates in the mid deck of the 'Sea Tub Clarabella' who kills sheep merciless, starting immediately when you enter the deck.
Jalbert,a redguard necromancer who locked himself deep down in Vilverin, has a sack near his sleeping spot, which doesn't respawn. There ya go,you can live in Vilverin. :)

OBSE (And OBMM) are utility programs for Oblivion. They are not mods and do not install like mods so be sure to read the install instructions first.
Both are highly recommended.
OBSE is a utility that adds the capability for mod makers (modders) to do things in the game that the original game makers never dreamed could be done - It is required for many mods - they will not work and may crash your game if tried without OBSE. All you have to do is install it. there are no settings or options to worry about. Then always start the game by starting OBSE - OBSE launcher.
OBMM is a mod manager with many useful functions. The first you will encounter is the ability to activate and deactivate mods. Then the mod load order, which can be important for many mods. OBMM also has a built in Oblivion/OBSE Launcher (look in upper right corner). It will automatically launch OBSE IF IT IS INSTALLED. If OBSE is not installed, it will start the game without it. After you have used OBMM for a short time, you will discover more of its myriad features. But the ones I have listed are the ones you will need at first.
Much of the OBMM documentation has to do with the use of OMODs, which are OPTIONAL. After you have used OBMM a while and are familiar with it, I recommend learning to convert your mods to OMOD format and using that to install and remove mods.
Get them both, and use them both.
Is OBSE and OBMM really worth getting? And is it safe for my computer or will it mess anything up? Will it mess Oblivion up, make it slower/faster, what? Is converting my mods to OMOD format better? Does all this make installing mods easier and make them run smoother?
It is worth, and it won't mess anything with your game. :)
There are many fun mods to play with ,which requires OBSE,and you have my warm recommendation for the both OBSE plugin and OBMM.OBMM is a needful thing if you plan to have many mods. Some mods work with a special load order, and OBMM can do it for you,so you won't have any problems or bugs while playing those mods.

70 % is done.I would still like to hear a word from a moderator, because I don't want this mod to be taken seriously, and I don't want to insult anyone by it.So,before I finish it and upload it...It is good to go?

Ardaline, Carahil, and lesser known but the most beautiful, Atraena. She's Faelian's wife staying at that one hotel for the dark brotherhood contract.
Yes,Atraena! Many people forget about her after the quest is done!It would be nice to see her as a companion mod, after the quest is finished, because she just wanders in the hotel without point.
