  1. I was still playing Oblivion when Skyrim was released, and was just starting to get bored. I'll be playing Skyrim for years. How?? The Nexus, and the awesome mods hosted here. You can completely change the game by just swapping your mods around. The available content for any Beth game since (and including) Morrowind is basically unlimited. "Here is a new world. Do with it what you will."
  2. Oh HELL yes. Got it on release day. Worth every penny. Best game I've played this year, easily.
  3. I just hit level 30 tonight. I've been playing non-stop (well, other than for work...and I've taken a couple days off....hehehe) since release. I was a huge fan of Morrowind, and Oblivion....I've been playing them both for years now. And I am in LOVE with Skyrim. Yeah, it's got some glitches (This IS a Beth game, after all) and the interface could use some work (just waiting for the mods), but overall I think it's astounding. The world feels so alive...and all the little touches, such as companions having personal space issues, the random generated areas, the cameos of characters from past games, gathering and crafting....it fels so well rounded and fleshed out. How could I ever get bored?? There is so much to do, and explore, and we don't even have the creation kit yet. I think I can safely say that I'll be spending the next few years of my life in Skyrim.
  4. we had mods like this for Oblivion....just waiting for the inevitability of them being updated for Skyrim. We will likely need a Skyrim Script Extender first, though.
  5. There's something that bothers me about Elder Scrolls games, and it is even more bothersome in Skyrim. Everywhere I go, people are practically handing me a new magic weapon. I enjoy the crafting in Skyrim. I made my own armor....weapons, etc. It felt good to make my own way, and use the things that I had made. I killed and skinned wildlife, tanned the leather, cut the strips, etc. Then someone goes and hands me a suit of uber light magic armor, and someone else hands me a collection of super-powerful weapons. Suddenly, all that hard work was pointless. SO.....the mod idea: severely restrict the availability and power of magical weapons and armor. Make Skyrim more realistic, magic harder to learn, enchantments more costly, and generally tone down the "+50 gear of god-hood" feel of the game. Sort of like a "hardcore mode", or "realism mode". Will keep my eye out....hopefully some creative modder will run with this idea.
  6. what annoys me is the fact that when I FAST TRAVEL, the horse comes with me. WHy do I need a horse with me if I am fast traveling?? If I wanted to ride the horse there, I would have ridden it. I want to be able to leave the darn beast somewhere safe, unless I feel like going for a ride.
