  1. You only need it for mods that require it. On the other hand, it does come with a crafting workbench, so if you want to make a new weapon craftable, AWKCR support might not be a bad idea.

Thanks Noahdvs, it appears AWKCR is still a good mod to have. From what I can tell from my very limited ability in modding the new GECK tools don't really do the same thing, and of course you are correct about needing AWKCR for mods that rely on it.

  2. a lot of mods require the AWKCR mod. Why wouldn't you use it?

I am aware of this but my question was perhaps worded poorly. What I wanted to know is does the new GECK sort this problem out or is AWKCR still the best way to move forward?

  3. Hello,

I am starting a new play through and have a question.

Now that the FO4 GECK or mod tools is out do I still need Armor & Weapon Keyword Community Resource mod active?

  4. Squibjb66 here,

I have been traveling the wastses for years and the one thing that gets my gander up the most is those rare shiny metal briefcases we find and think "oh yea the secret Loot!" only to find junk in them. So can someone tell me how to alter the contents so they hold a schematic or some other good loot? Or please show me a link to a tutorial for containers and i will do it myself.

Thanks a bunch and stay hydrated my friends,

  5. Squibjb66 here,

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if the download speed has been capped or something? I live in the Washington DC area(By the way where did our local server go?) and I am trying to track down why my downloads speeds are so slow. I am running the latest Firefox browser, I have Microsoft Security Essentials, and I'm running the Pro version of Malwarebytes. I am trying to elliminate things one at a time. But make no mistake, my knowlege of these IT issues is limited. I would also like to take this oppurtunity to thank those responsible for keeping this site running. I have been a happy user more than 10 years or so. Thanks for your time helping me figure this out,

  6. Hello folks,

I deleted my Bashpatch from FOMM thinking I could just create a new one like a merged patch in FNVEdit. I don't seem to be able to create a new one in Wyre Flash now. Can someone advise me on how to create a new Bashpatch from scratch? In case it's not clear I do use wyre FlashNV 15.5: default [1.4]

I really thought it would be a simple process. Please help because I was barely able to install Python and Wyre Bash. My knowledge in this area is very limited but I am trying to learn something new

  7. Hello, I wanted to clean my mods and stopped in time to avoid possible disaster. I've had FNVEdit for some time now and have experimented with it a bit over time. I never cleaned my mods though. It occurred to me that I may have messed with the check boxes for the two filter lists : By conflict status overall & By conflict status for this particular record. Right now all boxes are checked for both. the only other box that is checked is conflict status inherited by parent.(see attachment snippet). I just want to know what boxes should be checked before I apply the filter?

  8. Hey thanks for the replies Georgiegril & Rennn. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this community. I'll get to work on the fixes you suggested and probably go with the SSD.
  9. I think there are probably less troublesome ways to address your problem. External RAM might help in the case of very low internal memory, but it probably would not address flicker. What are your computer specs and graphics settings currently and what exactly are the problems you are encountering?

Oh my PC is very nice (IMHO), It's a mid level Alienware Aurora with one NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480, I was just wondering because I saw ASUS came out with a new RAMdisk and it advertised much faster load times. I just wasn't sure what loaded faster with this technology. I do get the occasional flicker. What I really hate is striped shadows. I get those in Skyrim around fire and in my new game XCOM. I have everything set to high or Ultra when it's available. Antialiasing 8 & Anisotropic Filtering 16. FXAA is checked.(Don't know what it means though). All reflection boxes are checked Object detail ultra with the object fade box checked. Lastly It has 8 gigs of RAM.

I was hoping if it helped the CPU deal with processing graphics that it might alleviate some of the issues myself and other people have.

  10. Hi folks, I'm not an IT professional, so I was wondering if a external RAMdisk could be used to play Skyrim and help speed up load times and possibly settle down flicker?

  11. Hey!!!!! I used to run to the corner candy-shoppe down at the bottom of 'Our Mountain' (My gramps had a challete or house with steep roofs to handle snowfall. I really can't spell and will never get better at it no matter how much I study.) to get Sgt. Rock & Easy Company comic book every-time a new issue came out. We are talking 35 plus years ago lol. But,...erherm......., I will not ask your age Sgt.Rock. Well, it's good to know my memory of the little town of Hague, in upper NY state, is still clear! Maybe I am not as senile as I thought I was. For those wondering it's on the shores of Lake George.

  13. Hey I am playing through the best Skyrim experience I have had to date using this mod list and thought it would be a nice idea to share it with the community. It's a screen shot of my list within the Wyre Smash 300 load order software that is downloadable as Wyre Bash. In other words do an advanced search with key words Wyre Bash and the Nexus page should come up in the results. It's an easy exe. file that installs the program and BAM! off you go.

As always is my wish to you all have fun and thank the various mod Authors for their work by endorsing the mods you use.

  14. My first real PC was an old TRS80. I played games like Zork, Xenos and various other text based rpg games. But my enjoyment of all RPG games came from good old Pencil & Paper Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. My imagination blossomed from that game. I started reading fantasy fiction of all kinds and as games evolved I gobbled up games like Balders Gate and all of it's sequels (Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment etc.). I would have to say without my RPG games I would have been a totally different person. I doubt I would have been in the rock bands I played in (and wrote music & lyrics for:inspired by my RPG fueled imagination!) Nor would I have my beautiful daughter or my Wife for that matter.( My wife is not the mother of my daughter, unfortunatly. )

While I am rooted firmly in reality, my quick wit and fun personality are due in large part to RPGs.

  15. Steam, Skyrim and mklink o my ;p

Can I use mklink to move my Skyrim install outside of the Steam folder but on the same drive, in this case C:\?

My Steam install location is C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim

I want to move it to C:\Skyrim

"mklink D/ "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim" "C:\Skyrim" Is returning an error saying it cannot find the path or some such. (I wanted to recreate the error, but have since moved my Skyrim install back into the Steam folder. It can't be good for it to cut and paste repeatedly back and forth. I'm hoping someone understands what I'm saying about the error.)

By the way, I am not a programmer, I am a land surveyor who loves Skyrim modding and want the most from my mods which require an install location outside the steam structure.

thanks for your time helping me,

  16. Wait one second. When you say mod archives, what exactly do you mean? I'm not sure what a mod archive is. (I'm not new to the Nexus (joined 2009) but I am delving deeper into modding lately and need a refresher every now and then. Mostly I don't know the terminology even though I know the mechanics , if that makes any sense.

This is what the edit says lol

  17. When you first go to the installers tab, Wrye Bash asks if you want to enable installers. If you said no, the tab will be empty.

Right click the installer window, and select 'enabled' to enable installers. Make sure that the mod archives are placed in ..Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers.

    Thank you Ghaunadaur

  18. This question is for those who understand Wyre Smash 300.

Right after installation a dialog box appeared. I missed what it said except for something about installers. As I started to read it my finger twitched on my hair trigger mouse and selected one of the options for that dialog box. Now my installers tab is completely blank even tho I have a ton of mods. What have I done? Is there a way to get the box to appear again so I can make an informed decision?

  19. Hello community,

I'm afraid my question is going to mark me forever as a slow brain but so be it. (In my defense I am heavily medicated for reasons I won't discuss and I simply cannot remember things as I should). I use BOSS regularly. Are the Bash Tag suggestions being implemented? For instance, is BOSS actually doing this: Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}} ?

I may have know the answer to this question when I first installed BOSS, but since the "incident" my memory is gone. Also I do have a vague memory of installing Wyre Bash around the same time as BOSS which is why I'm asking.

    Thank you for your time,

    squibjb66
