I'm trying to make a black version of the officer armor for the stormcloaks to go with another mod that i'm using. I know very little about editing textures, right now i have the armor loaded in Gimp and what i'm looking at is a very crowded image of the armor in its individual sections, some parts aren't even visible. I'm struggling to see how i should work with such a compact image where some pieces are literally overlapping others. I could easily enough darken the image to the point where the armor is black, but that would be undesirable as many of the details need to remain their original color or at least close to it. Only the fur needs to be changed.

Not sure if this allows you to upgrade, but it does seem superior in functionality and realism than the previously mentioned mod with the proper menu tweak for skill of course.

Version 0.3 - *Added the ability to supply materials for lower price You can upgrade without materials. Keep in mind that .5 was released last month, it may be that .6 will include a way to purchase equipment without the mats at an increased cost. Edit: Nvm, i was wrong the update was him releasing the source code. Sorry!

I skimmed through the description and like pretty much every other mod, you have to supply the materials :/ Are you sure? I took a look at the mod myself and it says: "give them the item you wish to upgrade and confirm or choose the dialogue option to supply the materials." The way this is written it's suggesting you that you can either confirm the upgrade and probably pay them for their materials, or you can choose to supply the materials yourself reducing the cost. It's nice to see other people who feel the way i do about the craftsmen in Elder Scrolls. One thing i liked in ES3 was the enchanter, only to be extremely annoyed in Oblivion by the fact that i actually had to go to the arcane university >:(

LE Mod Request: Successor to "Death is Highly Overrated"
skyrimguyxx replied to Crioca's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
OP must play alot of warcraft. Honestly, if your half decent of a player this would actually reduce the challenge as you could just zerg your way through more difficult dungeons. Dying, and then respawning to continue exactly where you left off. I always hated in D2/3 and WOW that if you die you can do that, with almost no consequences. -
I'm looking for a matching set of officer armor for Kel's Stormcloak Armor Retexture: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6949/? Thanks!

New Mod idea but i am not capable to create it
skyrimguyxx replied to TacoBob5000's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Probably time restraints and lack of creative ability, like me. There is SOOOOO much i'd like to change about Skyrim. Like fixing Whiterun's walls in conjunction with Ultimate Whiterun...but i just don't have time for it. Helk i hardly have time to even load the game up. -
True mantle should at least get AMD back in the competition, though microsoft is claiming that DX12 will duplicate mantles effect.

AMD is bad in general, its not just Skyrim. Even if the AMD has a higher Ghz than the Intel...the Intel still runs twice as good. Also, ATI is terrible. I have run ALOT of systems with ATI cards and every single one of them was crap in comparison to rigs with Nvidia cards in them. Will never go back. Unfortunately it looks like your system isn't going to be able to handle an ENB. I strongly STRONGLY recommend replacing that processor with an Intel i5 Ivy Bridge, and an Nvidia card. If you do that, you should be able to run an ENB with no issues, provided you get that extra ram in there.

What mods i need to have graphic like this?
skyrimguyxx replied to CounterCat's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I think you guys are being too hard on him, i'm running...: Intel i5 3570 3.4ghz QUAD Without Overclocking 16gb Ram GeForce GTX 660 TI 10.8gb Mem. MS-7751 MSI Mother Board I am able to use high end graphics mods with modifications to distance rendering with almost no drop in frame rate. I'm also having no increase in internal temperatures although i have 5 total fans running inside my tower at the bare minimum RPMs even on automatic adjusting. This is all with hundreds of other mods that would vastly add onto the system load, hundreds of extra npcs and buildings, flora and objects and many scripts running. Based on those specs i don't see ANY reason why he would have any difficulty running these kinds of graphics. If he does, or specifically this is towards Nanobuds then it may be unrelated to your GPU. You may have a heat issue, bad drivers, an unsuitable processor, not enough memory...the list goes on. The only thing i'm not impressed with is his processor. AMD is vastly inferior to Intel in nearly every known aspect. Even a 2.5ghz i5 processor should outperform a 4ghz AMD. In that regard you may struggle and have to go easy on mods that increase the load on your processor like city overhauls. Graphics wise you will do fine. I suggest RealVision ENB or Bleak Realism ENB (I recently decided to switch over to Bleak from RealVision because it is newer) Following the directions given on the mod's page, and make sure to download the reccomended and required mods listed..taking careful consideration of your processors capability when selecting higher FPS needy mods. RealVision has a pretty good instruction manual for getting good graphics on its main page, Bleak Realism you'll need to look into specifics on your own, such as improved city textures, flora, fire, spells etc etc etc. Also if you are concerned about interal temperatures consider getting more fans installed if your board will allow it, it also helps to keep your rig in a nice and cool room. I have a box fan sitting behind me and my room temp is probably about 58 right now, while its 78 degrees outside. CPU is cold to the touch  Edit: If you have any issues; feel free to let me know via pm and i'll see if i can help. -
Why I Think The Empire Is Right
skyrimguyxx replied to CryptsOfTheDead's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
1. Ulfric had no control over the situation. He couldn't possible be responsible for you being on that carriage. You were arrested and placed there by the empire while attempting to enter the country illegally. 2. The Stormcloaks are no differant than every other race in Tamriel when it comes to Racism and xenophobism. Remember the dunmer in Morrowind? To condemn one group or race for something that the other races are well known to do is ridiculous. The Nords from what i can see, want their country back from foreigners its not entirely about race. Let me explain...the dark elves are elves. This is like people condemning all Arabs even if they aren't related to a certain terrorist group. Sorry it's a questionable subject but its a good example. The Argonians and Khajit not being allowed in the city makes sense, their homeland's are aligned with the Thalmor...who the stormcloaks view as the bigger enemy. I would not allow potential spies to roam about in my city during this time period. No way no how. 3. Your treating the stormcloaks like they are all Ulfric. The stormcloak soldiers are fighting for the ideals that they believe in and Ulfric preaches. They fight for their right to worship Talos and not be forced to change their way of life by outside influence. Even if Ulfric is a spy, which he isn't...he was just broken and manipulated into thinking that he had become one. It isn't his fault, torture is no joke. You all would break, guranteed. After the Markarth incident which was questionable and the source is from a biased imperial book he broke ties with the Thalmor because of their policy about Talos. The dossier could also be fake, there is just no way to be sure. But in the eyes of a stormcloak soldier he is only fighting for his homeland and the right to worship who he pleases. He is no Thalmor agent. 4. If it is a ruse then why are the Imperials oppressing the people of Skyrim by taking away their most important religous figure? Why has it been almost thirty years since the war and the Empire has done nothing with this so called ruse? Those conversation's don't suggest anything about it being a ruse, only that the empire is no happier with the dominion that anyone else and eventually will break the treaty. 5. The fight was a trial by combat. It was his right as a Nord to face the High King in honorable combat, slay him and become High King. There is no rule against using your voice to defeat your opponent, no matter how "powerful" your voice is its just another part of your body like your arms and legs. Suggesting that he shouted him apart is irrelevent information but lets be realistic...if he were to do that, it would be pretty obvious at the funeral and pretty hard to hide anyways. Ulfric would not be able to convince anyone otherwise. What actually happened is he fought him in honorable combat in front of the court, shouted him to the ground and impaled him with his sword. You cannot call this murder, this isn't the 19th century. 6. Where Hadvar says you came from depends on what race you chose. In your case you chose Imperial. 7. The Empire cannot afford to pull it's legions off the lines with the dominion. It would not invade Skyrim unless the dominion was out of the way, and it is likely that if such an event were to occur that Skyrim would allign itself with Hammerfell against such an invasion. What is more likely to happen is the Empire will enter negotiations with Skyrim to avoid further conflict so they don't have to keep an entire legion on their border there. Kings are not children. I side with the Stormcloaks because i have to. Regardless of Ulfric's intentions or purpose i fight for my right to worship Talos. The Empire is weak, her soldiers are poorly trained and disciplined and Skyrim has a right to make it's own decisions about their way of life without a bunch of Elves telling them otherwise. If Ulfric tries to allow Skyrim to be taken over for some reason, it is unlikely that his soldiers will assist him in that effort at all. And regardless, when you finish the war on his side he points out that he plans to fortify their northern shores against potential invasion. Such an invasion is not likely to occur however, as it is rather out of the way and would be very costly.
