  1. Never made a mod before but I've found a few tutorials that could help. However I haven't seen anything that can get me started on this. I want the be able to make melee based spells that are cast via hand to hand combat. It would count as hand to hand (Fists of Steel and the khajiit claws comes into effect) as well as destruction spells (leveling up the skill, subject to perks and using magicka) Can someone help me get started on this by pointing me towards what I need to start with? I know how to make spells but I want these spells of course to work via hand to hand combat. I would rather avoid things like creating invisible weapons with the hand to hand animation since that would feel like a "hack" in the game. I plan on making this spell blend in with the rest of the spells and possibly be included with enemy NPCs.
  2. Can you elaborate on step 5? I downloaded FOMM, installed it and tried to create a shortcut and was prompted with a box to type the location of the item. I went to the location of FOMM. I then typed in "fomm.exe -tessnip" without the quotes and it just made a shortcut to the folder it was in. Can you explain where I am going wrong here?
  3. Bumping this up to get more attention in the hopes that such a mod exists or someone would like the inspiration
  4. I was wondering if it would be possible to create an oil lantern you can carry around that produces varying degrees of light. For example, you get 2 items (The lantern itself and a jar of oil) which you assign to hotkeys. Pressing the lantern hotkey brings out the lantern at its lowest level of light. This means you get a slight increase in light without alerting any enemies. Pressing the hotkey again puts the lantern away. If however you press the oil hotkey the light gets a bit brighter, letting you increase the light level should you need some more. To decrease the light level you just press the lantern key again to decrease and finally put away the lantern. I feel that having this sort of control over light sources would be useful for people who like to explore dark caves/ruins and generally for the thief players who aren't too keen on nighteye/detect life for whatever reasons (dislike the look or want to avoid magic for their character) Possibly you would have to continually add oil to the lamp every now and then or the level of light would decrease and eventually go out. Perhaps the oil jar would need to be refilled after a while (best being optional though) Overall I think it is something that a few people would like to see as it is something that helps support classes besides the typical sword wielding, heavy armour wearing, fireball throwing warrior that many mods are geared to
  5. Not a problem at all, I was just wondering if 100 mb compressed into 10 with 7zip was normal
  6. If you have the space, I recommend you make a little word doc and list all the mods you want to keep and a link to them (with any important information like install and load order). That way if you ever uninstall the game you can get the mods back again if you want. I've done just that (and because of the amount of space I have, I kept the original rar files too which amounts to about 8 gigs. BTW, on the subject of Rar files, I noticed that the v1.1 of the armour was a 10 mb 7z file and unzipped it was over 100 mb. Do 7z files usually compress that much? If so I could save a lot of space
  7. Got it working and managed to get it from 100 to 94 or so and I see the first bit of damage. Some little flaws I see is that the textures for some strap on the torso aren't appearing in game but they are when viewing my character in the inventory (no idea why). That and after a battle I noticed some floating blood inbetween the legs by the knees Other than that, its a great job, I'd love to see anything else you do with this Trandoshan, or anyone else for that matter
  8. Ha, it's actually not found in any stores. A spell should have been added to your inventory. Edit: I forgot to mention it's female-HGEC only. The spell is added only if you are female. A spell to get it? Thats an unusual way for it appearing. I must have missed the message telling me I got the spell them
  9. And updated the older files. Glad that I seem to have kicked off something good here, I'd love to see what you do with mail and fur armour EDIT: Can't seem to find it, I checked Jensines store but she doesn't sell it at all, is it somewhere else?
  10. Downloaded and installing, its great to see something like this on something that doesn't come from an anime. Kudos to you BTW, where could I find it? I'd love to use it and you seem to have spent quite a lot of effort to get it working
  11. Whew, as if learning how to make armour for Oblivion wasn't hard enough, having a useful tutorial like that in Japanese? If I could get it translated it might be enough to help, though it would best wait a while until I can manage making armour easily enough in the first place
  12. Have you got a link to those mods you mentioned? I searched for Tona and only came up with 2 pages, none of the results seemed to be what you mentioned
  13. Seems to focus on conveniently placed damage (barely any damage done to the sleeves and skirt things) more than anything and is sadly quite unfitting to the game but none the less seems quite interesting. Looks like one whole outfit too rather than a curias/greaves/gauntlet/boots/ect. though its given me some ideas for keywords to see if I can find more
  14. Removing Vertices is Hardly Amazing, and I'm not an Amazing Modder, but I'll organize the mod and release it. I guess it won't hurt my rep, I never had one at all, after all. Well from my point of view where I am only recently beginning to learn how to use 3DS Max (that can be used for Oblivion right?) it seems amazing I'll keep an eye on you to see this when you release it
  15. I've solved it, it was this old creature summon spell I got a while before the crashes. I remembered using it once before and it popped up a message saying something about me leaving the cell I cast the spell in. Anyways, I used it in Chorrol on this annoying NPC the last time I went in there. All I did now was turn the mod off, go in and save, turn the mod back on again and everything was back to normal. Thanks for the help
  16. Well if you get permission from any of them I would love to see what you managed to do with them. The fact you managed to create some armour with over 20 variations is quite amazing
  17. Well I've completed the quests to rescue Martin from Kvatch, the one to take him to Weynon Priory and then the Cloud Ruler Temple and even the Bruma Mages Guild recommendation before finally trying again to see if it was a quest specific bug. Sadly no progress, I haven't checked the other towns yet to see if they are the same though if I remember I will do them tomorrow
  18. I agree that a stock replacer would be too much to bother with but a few sets of unique armour (preferably fitting in with the lore) would be great. Have you got any links or ideas of where to look for more info on this Breeze and their project? I'd like to know what they did with it. I haven't even made any mods before (waiting until I get my pen tablet to be more comfortable with following a few modelling tutorials) but if you have made any scripts yourself, how hard would you say it is to make a beginner type one?
  19. Basically armour and clothing that gains noticeable damage once its durability goes down. Naturally your typical suit of iron armour would look normal when at full (maybe even polished at 125%) and as the armour takes damage it would show it (75%-51% would be gouge marks, dents and chips taken out of it, 50%-26% would be missing pauldron and leather straps snapped with pieces hanging loose, 25%- would be bare scraps) Depending on how many stages of damage would depend on how many different versions of the armour there would be and it would noticeably knock up the size a bit of the armour. That and I am wondering if it would be possible (The werewolf mods unequip your current clothing and replace it with a bodysuit thats invisible in your inventory) Personally I would find it awesome even if it were with only one set of armour or clothing
  20. So For some reason, every time I enter Chorrol, it loads, goes black after the loading screens and does the door sound before popping up with the typical "Oblivion has stopped working" error. Now this is a newish character and I have already entered Chorrol before with them with no problems. I am currently doing the main quest and this happened right after going to Weynon Priory for the first time (tried popping in to town before going to Kvatch) and after taking Martin to the Cloud Ruler Temple. Now while trying to turn on and off a few of the most recent mods I can remember downloading I noticed that while loading up the save there was the yellow diamond ! marker for when there are missing textures, right at my feet. I have no idea what the item was meant to be and loading up a second time there was a new one right next to it and ever since its not even there at all. I mention this because while looking for an answer someone who had problems similar to mine said they reinstalled some texture packs and it worked though didn't specify what. Of the mods I installed, none of them are meant affect anything in Chorrol itself (after going to Chorrol for the first time on this character I installed, the Oblivion Mount )Project (or whatever its called, lets you ride wolves and lions), Oldwolf's female Xivali + red striped texture (Only Xivali mod I have and they don't appear in Chorrol) and "Get Wet" (Makes water drips on people in the rain, installed after the first time the crash happened) Anyone got an idea?
  21. Hmm, as much as I prefer the beast races to look like beast races, this doesn't seem like too bad an alternative. At least it lets me have a wider range of hair for the Khajiit now (I could never get those hair unlock mods to work properly) Its a pity they don't affect the NPC Khajiit. BTW, do you know of a similar mod but with Argonians instead? I saw this one before (Ahata or something) though it was a bit too dramatic and it ended up with green people with lizard eyes or something. Still, those mods should help alot, thanks
  22. I heard there was a version of your Tabby textures for Exnem, probably not then? Also how do HGEC clothes display on Roberts bodies? I've tried hours of googling for answers and it never comes up with anything. As for the Clouded Leopard race, I thought it used a different model since it seemed more bulky and muscly than the vanilla races. The thing is that I have a tonne of clothing for HGEC that I like but I want good textures for all races and the only Khajiit textures seem to be only for Robert's Bodies. I had an acceptable texture for the beast races before but I had to uninstal Oblivion to fix something and I can't remember how I got them in the first place
  23. Also I have Slof's Clouded Leopard race mod and the male is all fine but the textures are messed up on the female. I think I heard something about female textures being connected to a foot file or something. Can anyone confirm this, walk me through it if possible?
  24. I basically use HGEC because all the armour mods I can find are made for it. I have no idea what they would look like on Robert's Bodies. Anyways, I'm having trouble finding some good quality beast textures. Of the few I have found they either come with underwear glued on or its Slof's really good quality Tabby retexture which was made for Roberts Bodies (I heard there was one made for Exnem, is this true? Can anyone link to it?) Anyone able to help me with this? EDIT: It doesn't happen with male characters, only females. I think saw this thing where someone suggested using the construction kit to do something to fix the textures. Just so you know, I know next to nothing about modding
