  1. Heh! Thanks for the feedback... I'm gonna bookmark it for the next time I start to miss playing and modding Bioware games. :ohdear: That particular character (a humourless, deadly serious Templar-specced Warrior) was was barely aware of the fact that she was female... had her hair or makeup been any more 'girly' or extreme, I would have been reduced to cackling insanely every time I opened the game.   And yeah, realistic freckles with a lot of tonal variation are easy to do with the toolset - I always meant to write a tutorial on how I approached it, and never got around to it. The CC, unfortunately, is limited to either combining a freckled skin texture with a simple freckled tattoo overlay for some depth, or finding the perfect custom skin. Freckles have always been a problem for me in DAO. and so was the CC ... way to dark, and the makeup was a joke... i can do part of my eye-shadow with he blush button.. how cool is that :/... I am no modder, but i have thought about learning many times.. at least for smaller things.. like i did in fallout 4.. i hated how my character didn't lower her gun quickly enough after a fight.. (i am such a nerd for the small details) and she walked on as if she needed a toilet fast. so i made a small mod (gun lower) and problem fixed... Never put it on the nexus though.. nobody seemed to need it.. But i digress. So your warrior was a tom-boy eh ?... yeah.,. i thought about that when i created Kitty.. after all.. she was a human hating lesbian city elf.. forced into marriage with a man.. (hint of Dorian there) and men are lying pigs... well.. most of them anyway.. and i can know. coz i am one, and know exacly how they think.... And i can get seriously pissed off.. if an elf is treated the way that Kitty was... i really go on a rampage... get seriously mad.. i mean seriously... i open every door in the castle, hoping to be able to kill more humans.. I am a sucker for the underdog... must be telling more of me then the game...but heh... Maybe to much getting in to my own story ?... And don't worry.. i got the DAO bug two weeks ago... been sick ever-since,,, ;)
  2. I think that the lower bottom right isn't that bad at all... I would have done more with he makeup and the hair... hair can make or break a girl considerably. But that one has a more then decent basis... especially the freckles are a cool idea.. i could never make them fit my characters. I just made a Noble female... i would love her to have a few freckles but... thats not in my tool-set...
  3. I am not going to break my game over it... but it would indeed be nice to have a demon next to you to do the circle quest with... lol. - I flew around with it quite a some time before actually solving the puzzle... it was great.thanks for the link btw.. but that tells me that the ash Wraith was not supposed to be a mage.. so Bioware actually made him a mage on purpose... which made it even more cool... Oh bioware.. why did you fall so low... must have something to do with EA.. or am i being to negative now... I just cant imagine that the people that made this masterpiece, (for its time) made a hunchback like Anthem..
  4. Well.. i don't play the fade, i use the "skip the fade" mod. but the moment you find a party member in the fade, is the culprit.. If one is absent.. you cant go to the next... and you are stuck. Now this could be, and probably is, an unintended side effect of he "skip the fade" Mod, but I also have the "meta Items" mod.. to make sure that i can always change a party where ever i am.. which i do before playing the fade, if i am soloing, or use less then 4 party members.. to do the circle quest. Getting a good looking character is just a matter of time... i can spend hours creating a character.. it has to be just right.. after all.. you will spend hours, days.. looking at the character, might as well be a good looking one.. for you that is.. coz beauty is in the eye of he beholder... i think i did a nice job with Kitty.. (in the screenshot) although getting the skin right is hard. with the abysmal lighting in the CC. Good to know i am not the only crazy one.. ;)
  5. Soz guys, but i just had to post this, coz i wonder... I have played DAO so many times since launch, that i have a whole USB drive filled with characters. But a few days ago, i played an evil (to humans) Rogue Female City Elf, (my favorite role) as she is a mean killing everybody and helping nobody kind of girl... Hey, she hates humans.. right ?.. yeah, she even kills Connor, a child.. because she absolutely hates his mother with a vengeance.. and because it pisses off Alistair... two birds, right ?... Except Leliana ofcource.. which explains nicely why she wouldn't wanna marry a guy.. and even when i wanted Alistair, i will not marry him, and become his concubine... which is kind of a slave.. if i marry a king, i expect to become queen, not some prostitute.... yeah.. that always makes me angry.. and i haven't found a mod to correct that... so i am probably alone in this. I had become rather powerful, so i decided to take on the urn of sacred ashes quest, with just my regular girlfriend Leliana and Wodan. (my dog, for drawing aggro) on nightmare difficulty.. I gathered that this would be a challenge... but halfway through.. i realized that it would probably not even be possible when i encountered the gauntlet, because you need 4 party members to do it, just like the fade quest.. take less party members there.. and you get stuck... But i decided to continue until i got stuck, coz i was having fun... When i finally got to the gauntlet.. an Ash Wraith spawned.. that never happened before, but i figured they wanted to punish me for playing with less party members.. and i was just about to attack it.. when i found out that i couldn't, because it was friendly ?... looking at it, i had to laugh out loud because the game had noticed i lacked the party members required, and spawned a party member to replace the missing one. Bioware must have known that some crazy players would try this game alone, or with less party members, and build in temp re-placer. (He disappeared right after, which is a shame..tbh) And also, they made him a spec-able mage, so you could heal yourself and/or other party members if needed.. I already knew this game was a master piece, but this really took he dogs nads... I had never read or heard about this anywhere.. in all the time i played this... and i wonder.. did others know about this ?.. must have.. you are never alone with anything in this world... or am i the only nutcase that plays solo or with less party members ?.. And why didn't they do this kinda thing in the fade quest ?... Anyway.. i do not post much... but i thought this was post worthy... (Screen included...)
  6. Best to avoid such inevitable conflicts by using the mod No Negative Affinity. By using that mod, your companions will remain friendly toward you. At least that is how I solved that potential problem. I have that mod... doesn't work that way... obviously.
  7. Oh.. be my guest.. my opinion doesn't have to yours...everyone plays a game the way he/she likes, and all are good... I just hate companions myself, and always have. Probably always will.. Personally, i play fallout 4 with the war of the commonwealth mod on highest setting and that gives me some really heavy battles... I couldn't care less about the story or the Settlements... the companions, or all the building s#*!... the heavy fights are all i play this game for. And i don't want to take care of a companion as well.. they are going down every minute.. blocking elevator buttons.. etc...
  8. Yeah.. when i have the perk that says i cant hurt my companions.. i expect that to be true... not my fault that Beth does crappy coding... And i never shoot anyone that doesn't shoot me... so that can never be an issue. One time i was shooting a few gunners close to diamond city on my way back from rescuing Nick... when a guard ran right in my line of fire... so Nick starts shooting me. i put him down several times... when suddenly he turned friendly and continued as if nothing had happened... ever since that incident i never travel back with him, but tell him to meet him in diamond city. Point is... Companions are a pain in the ass.... always were... always will be.
  9. I tried them out. well.. a few... I use WOTC mod,so its not wise to get companions.. I usually end up shooting them as well.. at least, i suddenly get a message saying "send x to..." and then a few choices of settlements i helped out..another thing i hate..... if i done it already, i send them to far harbour... good riddance.. if i didn't... a spot i know i will never visit again.... But best thing is.. don't take any of them idiotic companions... ever.
  10. I have almost 2000 hours into the game, so i think i have a good idea of where it all goes wrong., and i have to blame Bethesda. I am no modder, but i do play a heck of a lot of games.. and i am a resonantly experienced mod user.. far as i am concerned. If one day i can play for 6-18 hours straight without one single crash.. and the next i cant play 20 minutes or shorter before a CTD... while i haven't changed anything about the game. or my pc.. there is only one answer possible. Bethesda makes good games, usually, and especially the ender scrolls games.. but all their games are a buggy mess, made by a script-kiddo that doesn't know jack s#*!, and isn't interested in fixing its own mess afterwards.. I know i am using a mod that basically eats FPS for breakfast, (War of the commonwealth) but this should be possible with my rig.. (look in my forum profile of you re interested). And as mr Hobo Feral so kindly pointed out... i do it to myself,... but that doesn't explain how i play the game one day with no real problems on 60-ish fps, with 30-ish fps and a few FPS drops down town, and not the next day... while nothing has changed that i am aware off.. and i still get 60ish fps everywhere else but down town Boston... but there its a disaster area... literally. TBH.. i don't give a rats ass for the story.. if you can call it that... i play this game for the intense fights with the commonwealth mod on highest setting..... I cant play Nuka world because even after a clean re-install the end of the Gauntlet is absolutely unplayable... there is no use playing automatron, because the robots i would create would all crash my game.. still in the workbench, .... IF i would like a clunky robot as a follower in the fist place.. which i do not... because i hate followers... I also don't use power armor, because i didn't spend several hours creating my character only to stick it in a tin can after woods... I use a ring that somewhat equals the stats of power armor.. so i can use the protection without the hideous suit... I have never used power armor in fallout 3.. not once. and i am not going to start in Fallout 4. So... all all all,, i think that this game will end up in my cyber junk-yard sooner or later.... and probably takes a first big hit in playing time when Mass Effect Andromeda comes out... I admit.. its not as bad as NV... but its close...
  11. A bit like the 'Insignificant Object Remover' by akkalat85 Which i am using now. Maybe you can make sure they work together.. or maybe you 2 can work together... ;)
  12. I wont have to tell you that there is a conflict. like Fonger Suggested probably hardware related. If its due to the game.. reinstall it. Might be a good idea anyway. And leave the mods that you don't absolutely need, out... And do NOT reinstall on drive C:/ .. Beth games are weird like that.. they don't like drive C, find or buy another one. If its not the game.. its going to be a harder problem. And i would need more specifics to even make an educated guess.
  13. I never bother with companions. Some parts i take Nick, and some Piper, but mostly because otherwise i have to take the dumb mud. And anything but the mud.. i already hated him in FO3.. so... Nick isn't bad though. i just like to play a stealthy sniper, and there is just no room for companions in that. I don't need that affinity crap either.. ill do what i do.. final. weather you like it or not... end of discussion. I like to totally wipe out the children of Atom... I hate those morons.. childhood trauma i guess.. I take it strong would agree.. but i cant be stealthy with a huge super mutant on tow. There is something very satisfying about blowing them Atom zealots to bits.. I roasted marsh mellows on the fire.. Say hi to Atom for me.. lol. and then killing each and every one of them that's left, is the cherry on the cake. And with the war of the commonwealth mod, set on "no remorse" setting.. there are plenty to kill. Nah.. companions just don't fit in that.
  14. Took you 4 days to completely change your view, eh? Nah... voiced is the entire game.. love that FO4 has that. The (almost) silent character i was talking about was only when playing a quest mod... because i know how difficult it would be to make that completely voiced...
  15. If your using the arrow keys for moving like I do (SouthPaw Myself) You can use a custom F4SE keybinding to fix this or in one of the updates Beth did add a key combo for people who use the arrow keys. I use the F4SE method myself but if I remember correctly the key combo is Shift + vanilla Bound Arrow movement key while in workshop mode. Edit: Well I just went to check what the key was, I can't figure it out with vanilla. I know I've used it in between F4SE updates but for some reason it's not working anymore. Thought it was shift or return near the arrow keys. Thanks.. ill look into that.. i use F4Se, so that wouldn't be any trouble... and make my life easier for the times i do have to use that thing.
