  1. While aiming? Well then wheres the link?
  2. I always hated it in video games that just because you hold the gun with a tighter grip that automatically means you have to move at the pace of a slug. I would definitely love to see a mod remedying this
  3. Yes to the respawning of the Weapon Repair/Cleaning Kit. And it makes sense. Simulates life well enough. It leaves your inventory as you use it and then goes right back in when you're done. Reloading benches aren't really a priority as usually a reloading bench will be in the same area as a work bench. So if that's too much trouble don't worry about it. Although Devin seems to have enlightened us to a way to make it simpler...I think? Again still new to this stuff. However campfires I really think are more necessary as they are spread outside throughout the wasteland. That allows more freedom as workbenches are usually indoors or in towns. I think I see why the bed wouldn't work. The making of this mod revolves of crafting. Thus benches and campfires. Obviously the beds can't do that. Alright I think this padawan is learning. Alright new question. Is it possible to apply the Repair Skill to all this. As in repairing it to only 56% condition if your repair skill is 56. Something like that. Is that possible? It makes sense. A courier less trained in repair might not clean his guns as well as someone more experienced.
  4. Interesting. We might be on to something here. Well during the game I always use the 9MM pistol and then Maria, 44 Magnum then Mysterious Magnum, Hunting Shotgun but those are all later. So the Varmint rifle Sunny Smiles gives you right at the beginning of the game. And then the Doc always gave me a 9MM. Those were the two I used to start with. And yes to the not repairing weapons with other weapons. I like the idea of not being able to break apart 0% broken useless weapons to bring my 90% weapon to 100%. In my opinion it's more immersive and would add more of a challenge as well. A few questions Would the "Weapon Cleaning Kit" disappear after use? Would this only work at a Workbench?
  5. A I'm not a modder. B Because I'm not a modder I don't know exactly what you're saying. Could you elaborate on that?
  6. Maybe the idea of having an item that needs to be used in order to clean it can be scrapped. We can just assume the courier has gun cleaning utensils already on him. Because I mean heck The Courier already has a screw driver that comes from nowhere when it comes to lockpicks.. Maybe we can just assume the same of a gun brush and so on. Also I think the repair skill should definitely come into play. How high your repair skill is how high you can repair it when at a workbench/campire/etc. That would make the game even more challenging than just perfect condition every time you hit up a workbench. Another thing is that I am taking balance into consideration in this realism mod. Because technically in real life you can theoretically clean your guns anytime you're not in battle. But if we did that in the game it would be really boring. After every battle fixing them up to near perfect. That's why I added the challenge of needing a hotspot to do it. The hotspots are Workbenches, reload benches, beds, bedrolls, and campfires. So it's not just tracking down a workbench in the wasteland. There are other options. And it will be even easier if you have a bedroll so you can camp out anywhere and clean/repair the guns whenever you do. You want challenge? Now that adds more challenge but in a balanced way. It'll change the way you think, and the way you loot. Look in a game like Skyrim where we spend 5 minutes in battle and 20 minutes looting the bodies for things that we could carry that wouldn't boggle us down. Because weight was a problem. In a regular playthrough of Fallout weight isnt that much of a problem but on a Hardcore playthrough it is an insane extreme unbalanced problem! But it's supposedly there for realism so I wish to counteract this realism with more realism. Which is not carrying 5 broken shotguns to repair The Dinner Bell which is already in better condition. It's a different strategy. A different way of thinking and it will cut down on my ten minutes of looting and I can just get back to playing the game.

  8. The degradation thing isn't important. I'll just use the other mod. But the thing you're forgetting is that this is all for a Hardcore playthrough. On Hardcore you can't carry ANY excess. There's no room for any extra. Normally I'd be carrying Maria and two extra 9MM guns to repair Maria after some use. The thing is on Hardcore you simply CANNOT do this. Because the weight issue is so much more extreme there. It's the ammo mostly. It takes up most of your weight so you can carry little else. I hated crafting and cooking in Vegas because I CAN'T carry all the recipe ingredients and collect them and carry them for who knows how long until I get to a campfire. I never used the reloading benches because I couldn't carry all the shells and lead and hulls or whatever they were called. The weapon repair kits were useless to me. I couldn't carry them because I was too busy carrying food. I couldn't carry the doctor's bag which are needed on a hardcore playthrough to repair your limbs, because I needed the space for water. You have to keep that in mind. It's for a hardcore super realistic playthrough.
  9. Ah back after 2 weeks with no internet! Back to business. I like the idea of Yes Man as your link. I would like to see Yes Man upload a program into the pipboy so that you can contact him at any time. Then can you call him to give the command to send in the Securitrons to help you. It works. It's lore friendly. It's a simple concept. I like it. So let's talk story, or as you called it The Journey. The journey wasn’t very well written or thought out by Obsidian. Once you choose among indie,House,Ceaser, or NCR. The game has only 2 choices left to make (I'm not counting telling Yes man to ignore everyone and skipping to the end because then you're not even playing the game) Option 1 Suck up to every single faction and DO EVERYTHING for them until they make an alliance with you. Or option 2 Destroy the competition. I already did the suck up playthrough on my NCR run. It was kind of boring. I wanna choose the only other option the game gives me on my second run. Take out the competition But Obsidian never properly gives you the means to do so. While it may seem cool or challenging for the courier to take on the world completely alone, it’s friggin ridiculous gameplay-wise. If you try to destroy everyone on a lone super hardcore play-through you’ll likely get killed constantly. Like The Great khans in their canyon. There's like a hundred of them out in the open with no cover for you to take. I don’t even know if taking them all on alone in hardcore is possible without turning down the difficulty. Which defeats the point of hardcore. But it teases you with the robot army but doesn’t give them to you till the end. I need those robots DURING the game, not 5 minutes before the credits roll. The Hoover Dam itself means nothing during the game. Because the entire game is working to achieve this goal (which in reality I don't even care about but the game doesn't give you anything else to do in the story) and you never actually see the fruits of your labor. It was weak development on their part and the Robot Army mod I think would remedy that mistake. It gives me more of a feeling of actually accomplishing something for myself in the game, instead of just doing seriously NOTHING BUT RUNNING ERRANDS FOR EVERYONE until the credits roll. And that's really all the game comes down to. Chores and errands to do for all the factions until the Victory at Hoover dam and then CREDITS. I cannot stress that enough. That's the journey. See in Fallout 3, no matter the reason, you WANTED to follow the storyline. Because it's YOUR story. The story was you on an adventure to fulfill your own destiny. And you were motivated with the tale of your father. After killing Benny, the story is just you becoming everyone's lapdog. So that's why I want this mod. A mod that lets you properly take control of your own story because it gives you the right means to do so. The reward for your labor is here.
  10. Also how about decreasing the degradation rate on the guns to balance it out. I'd rather not have them get to that point so friggin fast. As i mentioned in my first post, you can shoot like 2.36 times before the gun becomes useless and I always hated that. I've found a mod that decreases the degradation rate by half but it also effects armor. I just want to focus on the weapons.
  11. Awesome! That sounds perfect! Thanks! As for the gun cleaning mod 1 The clothes and armor should stay as is. Because that is fine in terms of realism. You cut up some old jeans to patch up the new ones. Totally fine. 2 The weapon repart kit idea wellll? Kind of defeats the point. Because there are already Weapon Repair Kits in the game. Also making the spare parts things again goes against the whole point of the mod. It was meant to be more realistic than taking apart your dirty old broken down gun parts to repair your brand new perfect gun. 12. But Obsi didnt develope skyr- you know what, were all getting too caught up in the why. Lets get back to focusing on the mod. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to making the mod. All I have are the ideas. I know an aspiring actress but she doesnt play Fallout nor does she have the means to record lines. If Desert Rose turns it down, I'll make a search but for now...Well I still have no idea. I'm still new to the Nexus in general.
  13. Nah the theme isn't an over powered force with you. Though I agree some of my ideas were over kill. Like the 4 Bodygaurds was just an exageration to get my point across. I tend to do that sometimes. My bad. I'll try to be more straightforward. The theme and focus is the idea of having a kingdom. With you sitting on a throne. Seeing New Vegas has a way teasing you with ideas but never lets you truly realize them. Romance being one of them but that's another story for another time. New Vegas is about 4 factions trying to make New Vegas their own kingdom. However it never truly give YOU the means to do that. NCR has an army and has control and the fire power to even send assassins after you when you tick them off. Ceasar has his own little kingdom and sends assassin's after you. Mr. House is ...Well opinions on him vary. I never take Mr. House into consideration when it comes to factions. He's most likely the least picked the faction. But the game is all about the fight for control of the mojave. To make it their own kingdom. NCR and Ceasar have the army to do that while The Courier does not until the end. It's different from Fallout 3. The Lone Wanderer does as pleases. Usually trying to please his dad on good playthroughs and such. But the Courier is a different story. The courier is forced into a war and has to do everything completely on his own. I'm surprise their isn't a quest to wipe someone's butt because nobody can do anything for themselves. The courier himself alone (aside from companions) has to do everything on his own. I didn't feel like I had my own army in this war. I felt like I was just sucking up to everyone else. If the independent is all about YOU being the king instead of NCR and Ceasar, they should give you the means to do. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if it was just you and that's all. If they never had any robot army to being with. But New Vegas teases you and lets you know you have an army but then prevents you from using it. It lets you think you can but never lets you do so until the end of the game. And then the credits roll and that's it. 30 minutes of my using my robot and now I'm done with the game. It was a tease.I never felt in control of Vegas after I took over the Lucky 38. I had no control over anything. I awakened the robots for nothing because it never made a difference until the final battle. I'd be doing the exact the same thing on my NCR playthrough. It's not about being over powered with the robots. It's about using the robots to establish your own kingdom. Which was the whole goal of the game. Who's kingdom is this gonna be? I agree. Having constant robot body guards is over kill. But I like the idea of summoning them like the mod "NCR Commander" So the main ideas of the mod are 1 Securitron Commander. Summon them wherever you are to help you out. They come running. 2 The securitron never attack you and always defend you. The ability to set up Securitron guards sounds more in line with your Independent Mod. Like that mod might cover that. I think you can do that in the "Imperial New Vegas" mod but it's with lobotomites which makes no sense to me. Maybe you can use the robots instead. I don't know. If someone does know please tell me. So maybe that isn't necessary to the mod I'm requesting. So those are really the two specific features I'm asking for in this mod request. Securitron commander and Securitron immunity/loyalty.
