  1. Well, you don't actually create new meshes in the CS for a start. Usually a third party piece of software such as 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush or blender is used to create and texture a new mesh, which can then be exported to the (for previous ES games anyway) .nif file format to be used in game. The CS comes into play when creating an actual game object that is for want of a better word, "registered" with the game engine in the form of a plugin mod file. As to how they are trying to create such a reference in Skyrim without a CS, im afraid I have no idea as I haven't picked the game up on PC yet... going to wait till January when the CS is released!! Hope this helps anyway.
  2. I am looking for a few tips or directions to a tutorial or two on animating a weapon. I have read one from planetelderscrolls which was not all that useful. I have some experience in blender in modelling and animating and i have been a casual modder for years now. Basically i want to put together a mod with an animated "effect" kind of like a particle effect (could i use particles?) to create a sort of "weeping" blade. The idea being that you have a blade at the ready and it has an animation loop which causes a large droplet of fluid (lets say vile eldritch poison or some such!) to kind of "erupt" out of the blade and drip off the end to fall on the floor and disintegrate. I hope that sounds clear! Anyway, whatever help anyone can give or point me toward would be a good start. Cheers! ;)
