In response to post #31665355. #31665455, #31666085 are all replies on the same post. This is probably because of load order issues or comparability patches. When you ran the update a notice appeared that said NMM had to disable, then re-enable all of the mods to get the fix to work. And while it tried to put things back the way they were, you may have to fix a few things by hand. This is likely an example of that. In particular, the Full Dialog and Better Sorting mods do not play well together without a compatibility patch. In some cases I've seen this exact behavior with the Full Dialog mod not working properly because of the STRINGS field in fallout4.ini. Check your .ini files to make sure they are still set up properly. For any mods that have compatibility issues or patches you can remove them, and then reinstall in the proper order. Hopefully this will straighten things out.

For any follower, if you give them gear with better stats than their default gear, they'll wear that. So for Clover, pretty much any armor. Note that when it comes to weapons, followers take into account their skills and preferences, not just damage stats. And their default weapons are often better than a normal weapon of the same kind anyway. So they may not switch to something you think is better, because their current gear is better for them.

Nah, I don't have MMM and I run into Enclave with rippers on occasion. I think they're pretending to be Space Marines with chainswords. :)

It's not so much an extra.. it's just that they don't need it anymore.

Thank you very much for this, and to all the other people who have put out guides on how to get all the patches, DLCs and mods working despite Bethesda's best efforts to the contrary. :P I ran into so many problems following another guide when I got Broken Steel last week, and eventually wound up giving up on the darn thing for now. Once I get the disk with OA and the Pitt on it, I'll definitely be going though your guide here and try to get everything working. Good, clear documentation here should make it a breeze. (I hope.)
