I can launch from steam but not the launcher you get when you add the skse, but thats way better than nothing

lol by any chance could you tell me how to find the verify game cache button? Not meaning to sound well dumb lol but I'm not the best at this

so I need to to delete the skse files and start the game without them, and then redownload?

Alright so how would I launch skse through steam for the first time? I've tried launching skyrim through steam and i get "Failed to start game(unknown error)"

Well basically I bought Skyrim yesterday on gamestop, and downloaded it using steam. So I wanted to mod skyrim so I start by downloading Nexus Mod Manager, I had problems originally doing so because I put it in programs file. After deleting and downloading nmm five or six times it finally worked. Next I downloaded Skyrim Script Extender, which went fine, I extracted the files on to the desktop and then put them into a folder with the TESV. Also attempted to activate SKSE on my nexus mod manager, but I don't think it worker. After, all this I put the alternate skyrim laucher on the desktop and it wouldn't launch. It says it can't find TESV.exe which you get by putting the SKSE files with the TESV. My laptop hasn't indicated a change to the the TESV but the files are with it. What do I do? What are possible problems? Did I accidentally delete something? How do I activate SKSE on nmm?
