I kinda agree with the other respondents. None of the male characters seem overly muscular. What I'd give for a bodyshape slider at character creation though.

I imagine this would be a relatively simple mod, but I doubt my ability to script it. I think that a sufficiently high magic score would leave a strong aura of magic around a Mage that would be similarly intimidating to a warrior with bulging biceps. Makes sense that magic should be able to be used instead of strength for intimidation, if the score is higher, right?

Playing a Dalish mage...
Nogford replied to WrathOfDeadguy's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
There were a number of origin ideas that weren't included, despite having great potential. A qunari origin, for example. I agree with your sentiments about the mage being allowed for the dalish background. It might even make up for the fact that a lot of people seem to find that particular origin boring. I just wish they had included an apostate background for mages. -
This would be nice, although where would your melee weapons be placed instead?

What's all this beautification about?
Nogford replied to domanz's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
At least in the case of Bethesda, I use the beautification mods so that the characters don't look so completely alien. I don't have a problem with ugly or plain looks, I have a a problem with NPC women looking like Donna Versace, and men looking like David Gest. -
To call sex "immature and dirty" is yet another reason for people to roll their eyes at this request. The fact that you partly want the sex modded out for the sake of your underage brothers, who you apparently are helpless to prevent from playing this game, is another. This whole request, and your whole argument, is absurd. Those with unhealthy obsessions with food are the obese, and the anorexic - the people who can handle a suitable amount of food without endangering their health are the normal, adjusted ones. It is a similar situation with sex. The sex addicted and the prudes who desperately avert their eyes from sexual content are the unhealthy, immature ones - NOT those who can accept and enjoy it in moderation, like the amount present in Dragon Age.

I have thought about this as well. As far as an origin goes, being a qunari mercenary seems like a fitting - if perhaps a bit boring option.

Haha, oh wow, this is too much. You are killing me, honestly.

Simply ask yourself this: is the value of Return To Ostagar anywhere near 1/8 (even 1/10) of the value of the full game?

Bring back the AntAgonizer!!!
Nogford replied to Shatterproof's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
The robots would obviously be golems in DA. I am fairly certain The Mechanist's characteristics would be applicable in Dragon Age, too. -
Megan Fox is ugly.

It's been stated at being 15-60 minutes of content, plus a couple items. For $5, that is unacceptable. BioWare should not be concentrating on micro-sized impulse purchase DLC, they should be making sizable expansion packs for $15-25 at a time. If BioWare can make a handsome profit off of a 80 hour game costing $40, it is hard to justify less than an hour of gameplay for $5 being a fair price. The Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep were rip-offs as well

Not to nag, but it seems like there are too many categories on the DA nexus at the moment. For example, there are three or four different armor and weapon categories when there could just be one called "Items". Perhaps when the categories are more full up it would be wise to split them up again, but for now it is a pain to have to click through several similar categories that only have an item or two in each.

Well, at least it rhymes. That's something.

Morrigan from the Sacred Ashes trailer
Nogford replied to Retribution's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
I prefer the Sacred Ashes Morrigan to both the in-game and concept art versions too. Does anyone else notice that the trailer Morrigan looks a LOT like Elizabeth Hurley? -
Not wanting platemail bikinis in the game isn't a question of modesty, it's a question of immersion and sensibility. A plate-mail bikini is ridiculous and impractical and would break immersion. A sex demon or spirit of the wild being concerned about their exposed midriff is equally ridiculous and immersion breaking. I'm not the sort of person that will be desperately awaiting a nudity mod for this game, but to put more clothes on the girls in the game is unnecessary, and a clear indication of an immature discomfort with sexuality.

Nogford replied to Shatterproof's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
The Mechanist would be better, though. Let's be fair. -
Well, yes, I doubt I would have brought it up with most other things, simply because I find your bizarre need to avoid side-boob and blood in an adult rated game quite amusing and immature.

plz change the way items from mods are recieved...
Nogford replied to Z3R0B4NG's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Well, like I said I think that adding a modded item to the inventory of existing merchants seems like the best way to do things. -
You said that it seemed like a reasonable request. I have said that it doesn't seem reasonable. When so much of the game revolves around mature themes like sex and violence, I wonder what motivation you could have for playing it at all if you are that concerned with preserving modesty.
-
1) You could make it yourself. It's not that difficult to replicate. 2) People are working on it, but it will be awhile. 3) I don't see what the big deal is. Her default robe looks fine, the loose robe with bra mod looks okay, and even the exposed nipple version sorta makes sense with her personality of not caring about other people's opinion of her.
-
Personally I don't think the request is that reasonable. There are only a handful of encounters with Desire Demons. It seems very hypocritical to be okay with the large amount of gore, but not with some exposed side-boob and stomach. Even the nipples are hidden!

Nogford replied to Z3R0B4NG's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
I don't understand why they can't be added to existing merchants. I really don't want to be given these items for free, and see a whole new merchant specifically for modded items to be unnecessary and immersion breaking. -
Nude patches are fine. Dudes, though?
Nogford replied to manekineko42's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
I think that any nude patch should be for both male and female characters, but sadly it seems the crowd most enthusiastic about seeing nude females in videogames are also the most homophobic and afraid of penises. Sucks, huh? -
This is a bad idea. Dragon Age is not a historical simulator and the only vague similarity between Ferelden and medieval Europe are a few aesthetics inspired from history. Your character is not a medieval knight, and having the ability to be good at everything makes powers pointless. Character specialization adds variety and strategy, and increases the incentive to replay the game.
