  1. Suspect I might be the one Dark One referred to as reporting the error. The reason why I mention it is that I got the same 500 error just a few minutes ago and I too am AOL and it was certainly after 2 minutes past the hour. May I enquire if any one has got the same 500 message who does not have AOL as ISP?
  2. "Age is a state of mind" In my case I have the age and I don't mind. 2 Sons aged 18 and 21 and I still need feeding once a day. ;)
  3. No Special Forces, BF Euro, etc?
  4. If you don't mind a nwcomer to this group? What version, expansions, etc. do you use?
  5. Assuming one can manage to inflict injury on one knight with another  For some reason I seem to have lost the knack today and it is most irritating.
  6. First character was between 90-100, then stopped that as I found I had not shrewdly leveled up. Second character was about 240 hours and he completed all the relevant "Good Guy" quests I wanted to with him. Third character is again around the 240-50 mark and have completed pretty much all the "Bad Guy" options I want with him. All that is left is for me to complete the "Saved from Oblivion" story line, but by now I have completed all the other quests at least twice and the game is loosing much of its appeal; still loaded though. :) Almost as many hours as Silent Hunter 3.
  7. Further to the above. Having just started playing the Dark Messiah Beta, I don't think I will be getting BF2142 now as there will not be enough hours to play both. :D
  8. ET:QW? Quake Wars? BTW I suppose your BF2 games are with the Euro dowloads, etc?
  9. It uses the same engine, with the same mediocre graphics. It's simply the same engine with new textures, models, ranks, guns and vehicles -- basically a modification you're going to be paying £35 (or maybe even £39.99) for. I'll stand corrected but thought I read it was a new engine, must be confusing it with something else. As for the graphics, personally I did not find them mediocre, and I have a respectable machine. What makes these games is the team play and I suppose a new game presents a new opportunity.
  10. If it helps. BF2142 is a new game in its own right and is not a an expansion of the current BF2 engine. Having played in the closed and open beta I have to say that it is worth playing; being a SF setting I noticed an emphasis on playability that could avoid the "But in real life" issues. On the map used for the beta there were no advertismants but there were panels obviously awaiting the advertisments. Use to play BF2 (Vanilla) a lot and with the english section of a clan when my shifts allowed. Unfortunately whilst away for a bit there was a bust up and came back to find my usual crowd scattered. Tied in with the point where one needed multiple thousands of points to progress and the interest ended. Was hoping to start afresh with BF2142 and will be playing it when it comes out, but 2007 now?.......:(
